Intelligentsia Coffee Pasadena Reviews
This is a great Intelligentsia location. It is clean, spacious, lots of room to sit and work or chat with friends, and it is not crazy loud or packed. Drinks are excellent and on par with other Intelligentsia locations. Parking is available in multiple nearby parking garages or metered on the side streets. Great location near lots of stores, restaurants, and transit
Went there to meet up with an old friend from grad school. We both had a latte. Great coffee, chill atmosphere, and very friendly service m. I recommend paying for the public parking structures. On a a Sunday I paid a flat fee of 12 dollars. I felt it's worth it especially since it's Old Town Pasadena which is just beautiful with shops and other attractions. Hope you enjoy your time!
Great drinks in a big and nice setting. They have plenty of tables and also lots of interesting art pieces hung up on the walls. The drinks are very tasty and good quality, and the staff are very friendly. The washrooms are all the way in the basement with a code to access and are very clean.
My coworker found this spot and it looked like a great place to start the day. I ordered the “Angeleeno” iced coffee and it was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Not overly sweet and just the right amount of kick. It had Four black cat espresso shots, oatmilk and homemade simple syrup. Phenomenal cup of Joe to get me going. I’d definitely come back again to try their other menu items next time.
This newly remodeled and reopened Intelligentsia in old town Pasadena looks brighter and more spacious than its past time though it retains the brick wall and even the furniture. Definitely dig the new look. One other thing that stands out is that now this store doesn't have an espresso machine, and uses instead Intelligentsia's instant spro. Interesting for sure. Service was very friendly during my visit and cappuccino was great.
very happy that this location reopened :) the interior looks amazing and very spacious. I got a regular latte with black cat espresso and everything about this simple latte was beautiful: the foam, the espresso, the temperature. definitely my new favorite place, and I've been dying to find a space to do some work or to read or to write. Very calming 😌
Good coffee and nice environment. Not burnt like Starbucks and you do not take home the stink on your clothes. Really no complaints except for that one staff member who lays on the attitude heavy. It’s okay though honey – that tip jar won’t grow unless you earn it with better customer service. Other than that, I keep coming back for the taste
This is a fairly large space with plenty of seating. The coffee is good. The cinnamon roll pastry I had, was more sweet and sugary than cinnamon. More like a sweet roll than a cinnamon roll. The service was quick, except they forgot my pastry, but quickly remedied it. The parking is on the street, which has free times of day to park, but is metered the rest of the time. There are paid parking garages as well. There is a front entrance and an alley entrance. My small coffee and cinnamon roll cost $11. So a little more expensive than some of the other options in the area.
Intelligentsia Coffee in Pasadena is a great spot if you're looking for a spacious, relaxed environment, perfect for remote work or casual meetings. The interior is open and airy, with plenty of seating options, making it easy to find a comfortable spot with your laptop or a book. Their special frozen coffee is an intriguing option, made using powdered coffee and an automated milk foamer machine. While it's a convenient way to get a quick cold caffeine fix, the flavor can feel a bit lacking compared to other iced drinks. It’s not bad, just not as bold or refreshing as you might expect from a specialty coffee shop. Where Intelligentsia really shines, though, is in their hot coffee offerings. Whether you’re a fan of a classic drip or looking for something more intricate like a pour-over, their hot drinks are well-crafted with deep, rich flavors that show off the quality of their beans. If you're more of a hot coffee aficionado, you’ll likely find something to love here. Now part of the Peet’s Coffee family, Intelligentsia maintains its unique vibe while benefiting from the backing of a well-known name in the coffee industry. Whether you're looking for a productive space to work or simply want to enjoy a quality hot coffee, this Pasadena location is definitely worth a visit.
I’ve been to many other Intelligentsia cafés, and this one is among the brightest and nicest. I came to this location just a bit before they were to close, and they were out of pastries so I can’t speak to those. I don’t know if it was because it was close to closing time, but I got indifferent “I’m over this” vibes from the service staff. That really kills any cafe experience to be honest. For the first time in seemingly forever, my espresso was almost tepid, which I drank anyway because I didn’t want to get an eye roll from the already aloof looking team. The coffee itself was great, as is expected from Intelligentsia; but it being lukewarm and with no pastry to accompany it made for a lackluster coffee stop. All in all, and when accounting for parking in this part of Pasadena – it’s a one and done for me and this particular spot.
While wondering around the town of Pasadena, I needed a quick pick me up. I saw this coffee shop and decided to stop in for some coffee. The service was quick. The staff was friendly. The coffee was a little too sweet for me, but that's not the Batista's fault. I should have ordered something with less sugar. All in all, this is a great coffee shop. Stop on by for a quick bite to eat or a beverage.
The Overpriced Coffee Shop: A Mixed Experience The Coffee - Pricey, but Good Nonorganic milks- major disappointment considering the price Baked Goods - Hit or Miss Not made in house. The Service - Inconsistent Mixed reviews on service quality, with moments of excellence and missed opportunities. The Environment - Modern, but Noisy A clean, trendy setting, but the noise level can be overwhelming. While the coffee shop's reputation for being overpriced is justified, it offers excellent coffee, albeit at a higher cost. The baked goods and service quality can vary, and the modern ambiance comes with a downside of noise. If you're willing to take a chance and appreciate the overall experience, this coffee shop might be worth a visit.
The redesign leaves so much to be desired {I realize it's been a few years, but I still prefer the original design of this coffee shop.} It feels like a hospital inside. The coffee drinks are not the same quality and I miss the hands-on handmade ethos Intelli used to have. The beans are still the best available- but take them home and make your own coffee. Pastries are great, it's just not an experience I enjoy bug might pop in for a pastry and a bag of beans.
