Real taste of Japanese curry. Rich, thick, spicy and yummy. Roasting and hot in your tummy. Very delicious.

A lovely place for curry in Pasadena. They have deicious Japanese curry. The seating is quite limited so most people take it to go. We had curry with burger, chicken and fish. The meat was all juicy! The karaage side was good too. Lovely vibe and service. Parking is very limited and there was no free parking.

I have not had a good Japanese style curry since my last trip to Japan in February. Champions Curry was amazing! It made me feel like I was back in Osaka. The service was very good and the wait was not long at all. There are only about 8 dine in seats, but luckily, most of the people there were ordering to go, so I had a nice spot to sit and eat this very delicious curry. I had the Chicken Katsu, and it was awesome!

✨Comforting Japanese curry from Kanazawa can be found in Pasadena in the SGV✨ First time trying Japanese curry or don’t know what to get? Order this lineup and thank me later: 🥩 Juicy Hamburg Steak 🍗 Crispy Chicken Katsu 🍟 Curry Cheese Fries

美味しかった!Their curry has a variety of flavors, not just the regular boring saltiness, and tastes fresh! We had the chicken and pork katsu, wagyu and side sausage, the katsu could be juicer but all were tasty! Good portion size too :) Def recommend it for a Japanese curry craving day 😋

The hamburg meat and pork katsu were so tender and delicious!! And the staff was very friendly:] The only thing was the chairs were very uncomfortable. So, it's not as inviting to stay and dine in :/

This Japanese curry restaurant is a unique addition to the Old Town Pasadena food scene! I appreciated that they had vegan curry, which was surprisingly delicious. I would add on grilled vegetables and perhaps extra rice for a filling lunch.

Had a great lunch here. Very good curry, but more than that the pork katsu was cooked perfectly. Too often the fried pork is dry because of it being overcooked, but the one I got was juicy and tender. The place itself is very casual. Fast service, only counter seats, not much space. Great for a quick lunch. I would highly recommend this place.

this place is so slept on. I have eaten at just about every Japanese curry spot in the city, and (save for the curry I make at home from scratch) this place is now officially my number one !! portions are BIG, and the spicy curry was actually spicy. magnificent flavor, really kind staff, speedy service and everything is fried fresh. I wish vegetarian-wise that they had tofu katsu, but I'll be back regardless.

Insanely underrated place. Was super sad when they closed down the Little Tokyo location. Hands down best Katsu curry in LA county. Have had about 70% of the menu and not a single item has been a miss so far. If you love Japanese curry you NEED to go! You will not be disappointed!

There is a small store located in the city center. It is not on the main road but in a small alley across the intersection. I arrived around 1:30pm and the store was doing well. The place is very small. There are only 8 small stools for dine-in, and since they are right next to each other, it's actually very difficult to fill up 8 people. When I arrived at the store, 6 people had almost taken up all the space. Also, they don't provide child seats. Please note this if you bring children here.I ordered the classic pork katsu don and a mini curry rice blow. The fried pork cutlet was made very well. It was juicy and had a springy texture but was not hard to chew. The flour on the outside was very thin and it was fried very crispy. The pork had no fishy smell and was sprinkled with chopped scallions and sour cream for rich seasoning. In addition, the lettuce they come with is sprinkled with seasonings. It tastes sour and salty, which is appetizing and as refreshing as the red kimchi beside it. Each katsu serving comes with a can of curry for you to dip in. Their curry is quite ordinary. I'm sorry, but I didn't taste anything particularly special. The seasoning is very similar to the curry blocks bought from the supermarket. However, I found some meat pieces in it, which made me feel great. If I have to point out the only drawback, it might be the portion size. However, adding one more meal can solve the problem of not being full. In the end, the average cost per person is around 20+dollars. Their prices are really cheap. Considering that this is the price in the city center business district, if you come here for a trip or shopping, this restaurant would be a very nice choice. Remember to call in advance during holidays and meal times to inquire. Otherwise, it might be a bit difficult for you to have a meal in the restaurant. Parking around here is quite troublesome, unless you want to eat on the car

I decided to try one of the more affordable eats on the DineLA restaurant week list. For $15 getting a bowl of curry and a drink is what cheap eats are these days. The curry is just alright and I took the leftovers back for another meal. I'm used to eating the DIY homemade curry brands House Curry and S&B so this wouldn't be my 1st pick but when you are hungry it does the job. I've never eaten too many curry joints that did exist in the past so I can't really compare. There are just a few bar-type seating since this is a smaller place. I came after 1 p.m. on a Sunday, but it wasn't crowded and there wasn't a line like some of the other eateries nearby had. You order from a tablet and the drink fridge is near the counter. The drink fridge has an assortment of American and Japanese drinks. It's clean & modern. Something you would expect from a new restaurant. I'm glad I tried it to see what the hype was about, but I highly doubt I'd be back.

Comparing to the OG Little Tokyo location the portions are astonishingly smaller and for the same if not higher prices. The food is the same quality but the seats are horribly uncomfortable for someone on the bigger side. A downgrade to what was once on of my favorite curry restaurants confirmed to me that I should only patron other curry locations instead.

Been seeing this place on social media a lot lately so I was really curious about trying it. I was able to come here for lunch one day. There is a paid parking lot in the same building, or paid street parking if you can find it. The inside is pretty small, theres only 5-6 seats. I came here with a friend, and there was not enough seats for the both of us. After we ordered, it took maybe 5-10 minutes for our food to be ready. In that time some seats opened up so we were able to dine in. I ordered the pork katsu. While ordering I asked the cashier if the spicy was really spicy and they said yes so I got the original. The original is not spicy at all. She said I can just add the chili thats on the counter to make it spicier. Overall the portions were reasonable, the pork was cooked well, nice and crispy. The curry had good flavor but I wish I got the spicy, I will try that next time. Overall it was good, but nothing life changing. The location is fine if you're already in Old Town Pasadena for whatever reason, but its a little bit inconvenient to go just for this. Also the size of the restaurant makes it inconvenient for larger groups.

Ordered take-out, got an utrageously small portion of curry. Imagine a curry restaurant you know with a portion that feels disappointingly small, then cut the amount in half. I'm not exaggerating, this is less food than a curry bento from a Japanese grocery store. I can't spend $17 after tax on katsu curry and get half a meal, it's kind of irrelevant whether it's good or not at that point. I give it 2 stars because the pork katsu is admittedly pretty good.

I've had lots of curries and even make my own. This stuff was terrible, odd flavor, not even served hot. The fried fish was greasy, very bland, and uninspiring. I mean this place isn't cheap either...a small amount of rice, curry, and protein is $20 with tax. That's Curry House prices when it existed and not even the ambience to make up for it. Awful stuff.
