Sushi Roku Pasadena Reviews
Christina was awesome! She was very kind and attentive. It’s rare to have someone who knows exactly when to ask if everything is well and when to give you space. She definitely has that skill! Thank you very much for making my anniversary special!
Absolutely loved the food and service. It’s not inexpensive but worth the price. Liana M treated out so well. Loved her style and knowledge of the menu. My other friends shared five rolls that all looked good. I intended to share my two non-sushi items with another friend. The rib eye wrapped asparagus hit the spot with enough to share. And the four bacon wrapped shrimp were so tasty but not enough to share. Oh and the ribeye well tasted so good I ate them all. Sorry-Not-Sorry, Shavon. Next time I will request the same table, number 33. Loved how we were in the middle of the restaurant but tucked into intimate corner. Greet design and use of space.
Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Chose the Chefs Special on the lunch menu. I was overly satisfied with my choice! All fish was fresh, and simply delicious. Can not wait to come back.
Great food. The lamb was delicious. Not expecting lamb at all sushi spot but I’d come back just for that. And don’t pass on the garlic spicy edamame
Always a great time! Great food, great service! Tried the Toki Tomashi drink and it went perfect with the poke bowl. Thanks so much!
Even with the rush from the Rose Bowl game service was top notch. Good was great and server made excellent recommendations
We just went for the first time for our anniversary and it was amazing, food, drinks, service and atmosphere, top notch 👌. Absolutely worth it! We are definitely going back.
Great selection of sushi, super fresh and tasty! Sat in the bar area. They had a DJ playing some great music and everyone was having a blast. Great location in old town Pasadena. Highly recommended.
Food is always great and they're super attuned to dietary restriction. They've always been able to tell me (or adapt for me) items to make sure that I have a great gluten free meal.
Great place!! Sat at the bar and Kim the bartender was amazing!! Super fun, great customer service and just a great vibe!!!
I sat at the bar where Amber served me. She was so pleasant, knowledgeable, patient, and kind. I will be back because of her but the food was really good as well. I came for the happy hour experience and I wasn’t disappointed. The manager was very nice as well I didn’t catch her name. Thank you!
Lance it’s the best most amazing waiter we had in sushi Roku, we had been coming here since 12 years ago and honestly it’s still the best!!!
I recently celebrated my friend's birthday at Sushi Roku Pasadena, and it was an unforgettable night! The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, with unique and creative rolls that impressed even the most discerning palates. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure our glasses were always full and our needs were met. The ambiance was intimate and sophisticated, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel like we were in a hidden gem.
Hector is da goat!!! Great server all night very attentive that man deserves a dam raise!!! Good was amazing!!! Can’t wait to come back
Amazing sushi, great service, wonderful location. The experience was as good as it gets at a quality sushi place. I have tried all of the speciality rolls and have to say that all of them are very good. My least favorite had to be the crab handroll, however. Cocktails were great, but interested to try the sake next time. You cannot go wrong with the fresh sushi rolls and the specialty rolls. The appetizers are also very good. Big fan of the truffle edamame. That was great. Desert was a solid 4/5. Decent, but not the best.
One of my favorite sushi places in the Pasadena area, because I love sushi and so frequent lots of sushi places throughout L.A.. The decor is beautiful, the service is always attentive and friendly and the sushi is very fresh and delicious. I truly enjoy the albacore and Tuna and the Katana roll. The matcha mule is also a MUST try!
Never been here before. Will 100% be back. The tuna (or as the waitress helpfully pointed out the “Maguro”) was world class. Highly recommend. Also cute little alley entrance.
Came here for our anniversary lunch! I've never had sashimi , so fresh, so delightful! The fried Brussels sprouts were amazing, a little too greasy, but great non the less! We got theu ch menu, and they had some pretty good options. Our waiter, who's name I forgot, I'm so sorry, was so helpful, amazing constantly checked on us! The fact that serve Orion beer, for me that a triple A+.
Nestled in Miller Alley, just off the main strip of old town Pasadena. It's such a cute place with a great bar, small lounge area, modern indoor and outdoor patio areas, and great service. The service is so nice and pleasant -very SoCal chill, and the food is delicious. The lunch specials are tastey and thoughtful. There is something for everyone. The experience will leave you feeling very satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful experiences. Will be back soon!
This place was really great! The service was excellent! Fresh sushi, and I got the chicken dish, it was amazing! Best lava cake I've ever had!
Everytime I am in California I come here!!! Great sushi, Great service and amazing ambiance. The sushi is always fresh and the fish is great quality. Everything is so delicious!
Great experience at Roku Sushi. The place has a nice vibe and the sushi was really good and fresh. Perfect place for a sushi night
We been a regular customers in this location for 10+ years and always been taken care here. Food is always fresh, new dishes on menu always full of surprises. My favorite is sonomono salad, fried chicken, crab 🦀 roll and toro cut role. Scewers are great here too and of course dumplings! Rodrigo, new manager is a true value to this location. Super friendly, attentive. We met him back even before pandemic times. Can’t wait to visit him again! Thank you for taking care of us🙏🏻🩷
Really you can get better elsewhere. It was good but seems pretentious. Definitely felt like a place that you eat there so you can tell people you did.
A nice spot in Pasadena for sushi. We had to try the $75 per person feast (already a lot of food) plus some other dishes like the ribeye asparagus and fluke kumquat (awesome dishes). Atmosphere is great for dating.
Absolutely too tier sushi restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic, the servers are amazing, and the food is wonderful. I got the izakaya feast so got the try a bit of everything, and it was all delicious.
Brought my wife here for her birthday and she loved it. I, myself do not eat sushi, but I tried the feast and had a portion of the favorites and loved the experience and taste of their food. Ambience is lovely, service was spectacular, food was great. Definitely, recommend.
Our monthly family dinner outing happened at Sushi Roku in Pasadena. It was a Saturday night and this joint was PACKED! We had reservations for 7:00 PM and the wait wasn't too long. The staff was all pretty helpful and friendly. While waiting they did bring out appetizers for customers who are waiting to be seated. I thought that was nice. We had drinks, appetizers, and sushi. The drinks were good. My brother, Les, enjoyed his Toki Tamashi drink. The spicy tuna roll, avocado eel, Japanese fried chicken, and Bacon wrapped shrimp were my favorites. We also had Soft shelled crab, Cut shrimp jalapeno roll, Senshi roll, and Cut spicy scallop roll. I had to order an Orion beer because one of my coworkers spent time in Japan and this is his favorite beer. I'm not a big drinker so I can't comment on it. We finished the evening with the Banana bread pudding and Volcano cake. Delicious. All in all it was a great night out with the family. The restaurant has a good vibe, I thought it was very cozy. The food that we tried was okay. I was overcharge $18.00 for a Fusion drink that we didn't order but that one got by me. It was almost 11:00 PM by the time we finished and wrapped it up. This place is worth checking out.

Great to be there at our friend Linen’s sushi chef debut!!!
Had a great Sunday dinner here. Food was delicious and the service was top-notch. Enjoyed the dark setting inside although the chairs are in need of replacement. Every dish was good and the fish really fresh. Our server was a doll, super attentive and willing to give us advice on the menu. Will return for sure. Used the In-Kind app here which works great.
Lisa was an absolutely amazing Server. She just came in here with the beautiful Aura. She really helped me feel like I was at home. This won’t be my last time coming here. Great food too. But Lisa she made my night really special. Thank you
I used to visit Roku frequently when I worked over in Pasadena. Met a friend for a relaxed dinner and was reminded that I need to resume coming in more often. Your food is exquisite and servers always kind and attentive. See you again soon!
I have been coming to Sushi Roku for many years now and am never disappointed. The food, the atmosphere, the service are all excellent. I love everything on the menu, but I also love that the chefs will always find a way to make what you want even if it isn't on the menu. You will never leave disappointed. A combination sports bar, boogie sushi place, and a fun family restaurant: Sushi Roku is perfect for all.
Our server Jessica T was fabulous. We had not dined here in years. Now we’re here enjoying dinner with our kids. She was friendly & efficient!
Absolutely loveeee coming here every time we are home! The sushi is by far the most consistently well prepared, fresh, and delicious!! Love their plum wine and saki selection.

This is a place where the service is better than the food. The food is good enjoyed our meals. But the service here was amazing. Our server was very attentive knew the menu and made some great recommendations. It is pricy but worth it. If you are in the area stop in you won’t be disappointed.
The brussels sprouts chips are insanely delicious. It was my first time trying sake ozeki nigori, which was so good I need to get a bottle for home. The albacore and yellow tail sashimi was perfect and maybe the best I've had in a long time.
Have been to Sushi Roku many times and it’s always a solid experience. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, stylish yet comfortable, and their recent updates made the space even nicer. It’s so green and lush! The food quality is consistently good, and the presentation is beautiful. As a vegan, my options are currently a bit limited, but what I have had has always been fresh and delicious. For anyone who eats fish or meat, the menu is much more extensive and creative. Their wine list is strong, and even though wines by the glass run between $16 and $20, I’ve always found the selections to be excellent. The cocktails are also really well made. The host stand is always welcoming, and the service overall has been consistently attentive and friendly. On a few occasions I’ve had a server who was truly fantastic, not only efficient but also genuinely warm and positive, which made the meal that much more enjoyable. It is on the pricier side and the bill can add up quickly, but between the food, service, and overall ambience, Sushi Roku is one of my favorite spots in Old Pasadena for a special night out. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because of the limited vegan options, but if you are a fish eater, this would very likely be a five star restaurant for you!

This is your americanized (fast) japanese restaurant. The restaurant has a great vibe, and a lovely seating arrangement. The water feature in the middle is really neat, but it doesn't detract from the lack of sushi on the menu. It is missing quite a few staples like tamago. Any time i see Japanese wagyu on a menu, I order it. Unfortunately, the wagyu sushi on the menu tasted like anything but... this restaurant would benefit from deciding if it wants to be an izakaya or a sushi house... they miss the mark on both at the moment. There are other options within a block or 2 that i would recommend instead.
Food is kind of overpriced for the quality and quality of the sushi. Got some roll, and came with very average ingredients, nothing making it worth it's price tag. However despite food being meh, ambiance is relatively high end and waiters are relatively attentive

This place was bad. The sushi and rolls were horrible—tasteless and poorly made. They forgot to bring utensils, wasabi, and ginger, so we had to ask for each item separately and wait forever to get them. They also can't make spicy tuna without onion because everything is pre-cut and pre-mixed, which is a problem since I’m allergic. The pieces of yellowtail looked like they were cut yesterday. Sushi should be freshly made, especially for the price they charge. Definitely not worth it.
