Absolutely my favorite restaurant. The waitstaff are friendly, attentive, and gracious. The food is unbelievable -- anything from the spinach salad to fetuccini with fresh porcini mushrooms to the complimentary house made sambuca. Another highlight is the black squid ink linguine with mussels, shrimp, scallops, and a whole lobster on top. The owner (Florio) and captain (Vincenzo) greet me every time -- everyone at the restaurant is devoted to making the best possible dining experience for the customers, and the food most likely better than anything you've ever had before. *UPDATE* After being closed for nearly 6 months after a fire, La Fontanella has reopened, completely renovated, and is even better than ever. A few minor changes to the menu (Lobster Ravioli added, as well as a homemade Fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, shallots, and shrimp, and a few veal and fish dishes added). Brand new marble floors, beautifully detailed cherry wood trim throughout, and a gorgeous marble bar with lively lighting all make for a beautiful and welcoming environment for fine dining and socializing. Also, all the original staff has returned upon reopening, and the wonderful people there are really what make La Fontanella so special.

This is a lovely quiet place to enjoy a delicious meal with friendly attentive staff who don't rush you. I was treated phenomenally from start to finish, everything from the appetizer to dessert was lovely, a nice selection of wine as well. I cannot understate how fantastic the food was, the portions are very appropriately sized and each dish we ordered was delicious.

Cozy small place. Feels a little tight quarters so definitely not for a large group gathering. All food dishes were delicious. We all order 4 diff apps & dinner. Service was attentive. Bar area in tight too but cozy. Bartender is a very sweet lady. Drinks are average nothing extraordinary. There is a small parking lot or street parking. Overall we had a very pleasant experience for our annual Xmas dinner.

The cozy bar was a nice start for a pre-dinner cocktail made all the better when Laura the bartender gave us a warm Welcome..The Manager Floria was very accommodating Welcoming and on hand throughout the restaurant..The staff were impeccable dressed and attentive and friendly.We shall definitely Return..P.S. try the Raw oysters Delicious!!

Excellent service and a fantastic meal. The atmosphere is beautifully elegant and relaxing. We had Mahi Mahi, Penne with pesto and shrimp, chardonnay, a local brew, and 2 of their delicious desserts. We were here several years ago for New Year's Eve and so happy we stopped in tonight.

Went to this restaurant tonight, haven’t been back since before Covid-19. Food is always amazing. I had the steak it was delicious and the clams to start off. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was excellent, dessert was as well.

The food is very good but the main reason I am leaving 5 stars is because I come here frequently with my grandparents who are in their 90s and hard of hearing and the staff is always so kind and accommodating towards them. It's always a stress-free experience bringing them here.

This is a great hidden gem in Pelham. We just found this restaurant. We wonder how we missed it all these years. Be forewarned. That mousse cake feeds at least two people.

Beautiful atmosphere, great food, amazing background music! Has nice outdoor seating for COVID, all waiters wore masks, and I felt there was more than enough distance between myself and everyone else dining there.

Exceptional experience at La Fontanella, My wife called ahead to inquire about reservations, but a miscommunication occurred when we arrived. However, the real magic happened when the manager, Mr. Florio stepped in and worked wonders to resolve the issue. Talk about GREAT customer service! The food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was incredible. Despite the initial, we'd definitely return and highly recommend this spot. Kudos to the team, especially the hero in red, for turning a potential disappointment into a memorable dining experience.

Had an amazing dining experience! Ilda was fantastic, attentive and friendly. The burrata was creamy, the grilled calamari was tender and flavorful, and the sea bass was perfectly cooked. Great food, great service, highly recommend!

Went here last night for a date with my girlfriend, atmosphere was great good music playing, service was very good not too on top of you but attentive and helpful when you needed it. Food came out quickly and was delicious I had the ravioli and my girlfriend had the rigatoni they were both great. Pretty fancy not too much but a nice classy authentic Italian restaurant. About a 100-150$ night for two. Definitely would recommend.

Came here for weekday lunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was amazing. The service was fantastic and very attentive. The lunch special prices are a great deal. They gave us a free dessert with a candle which was so nice. Highly recommend.

This place was amazing!! It is a very fancy Italian cuisine with a beautiful setting. The waiters respond to your needs very beautifully and their food is delicious!!! I had their tiramisu, and it was delightful. Since I had about 22 people with me, we had a fixed meal. I was impressed on how the waiters responded well under pressure and delivered the food fast. I passed by Wolfs Lane dozens of times, but it's such a small restaurant that I barely even see it. But I'm glad I went. This is one of the best Italian cuisines I've been to in my life!!!!!!

I really love it, but I put 4 because the chefs assistant missed a large bone in my MAHI MAHI. I caught it thank goodness right away, but I was shaking and upset. The owner came over immediately with the wait staff, chef etc. They were so upset, too. I appreciated their concern and kindness. The food is always TERRIFIC and this was a goof up. I will always go there. BTW I finished my MAHI MAHI, as it was a delicious meal with no more surprises. HAPPY NEW YEAR🎊💗, everyone. Stay SAFE 😷 THE COVID19 rules were followed totally.

The service was good. It would have been better if the waiter would have remembered that, he was told there was an allergy problem. He didn't say anything to the chef because the dish ordered still came with the mashed potatoes. Which has milk and cream.

It's a pleasant ambiance with comfortable well-spaced tables. The food is carefully prepared, but dont look for anything too novelle. The service is gracious and attentive. A bit noisy when crowded. Wine list is solid if uninspired. Certainly much better that the Italian places in the nearby Bronx.

Update December 2025: I’ve been back twice since my first review and have thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I’ll keep going back. It’s now worthy of 5 stars. December 2024: My seafood salad and homemade pasta seafood special were expertly prepared except for too much garlic in both. I love garlic, but it should be subtle, not hit you over the head. Service was superb, atmosphere was most enjoyable. I will definitely go back and try other menu items or ask them to go easy on the garlic.

I enjoyed having dinner with my friends here this month. I was able to order Penne a la Vodka which was not on the menu and it tasted good. The portion could have been better for the price as I was still hungry. I ordered fruit punch and I don't know what they brought but it was so disgusting. I had to ask for it to be returned and I ordered something else- Cranberry. I didn't see much on the menu that caught my attention so I stuck to what I knew and ordered the penne. The staff was very helpful and attentive. We appreciate the customer service as they were excellent and professional.

Went here for parents 41st anniversary with a party of 4. Atmosphere was cozy and clean. Small plate of fresh cheese, meat and bread was placed on table which was a very nice touch. Very pleased they would do the cheese and meat. Staff was outstanding and very attentive. Apps were good. BURRATA was ok. It was more a mozz than a burrata. The prosciutto was the star in that plate. The clams oreganta was nothing special. Had much better down on Arthur Ave. Ordered a bottle of Cab which was great, however, $60 for a bottle of California Cab that goes for $25 is way to much of a high mark up. Dinner consisted of the chicken sorrentino and chicken fontanella both of which were great. The veal carusso was very tender but lacked anything worthy of remembering otherwise. The daily special of fish and crabmeat was heavenly so I was told. Dessert consisted of TIRAMISU Tartufo, tres leche, and pischatio cake. The tiramisu was not up to par. The pischatio cake which was good but was still frozen in some bites more time to thaw out was needed. Both Frangelico were a sizeable pour but the cappuccino tasted a bit burnt. The espresso was the same and did not come in an espresso cup nor with a lemon edge. A nice addition considering the amount we had ordered would have been at least the offer of a shot of sambucca to go with the espresso. Again, have been to places on Arthur Ave that have plopped a bottle of sambucca on the table for us to serve at will. Overall. Enjoyed the experience. Everyone left happy and full. The bill probably was not worth the experience but it was in Pelham afterall..would return, but wouldnt splurge again on an all out dinning experience

Tried to order takeout, and nothing we wanted from the menu was available. Can’t be a 4.7 if you offer takeout without an updated menu to use. Just don’t offer takeout; everybody in the reviews seems to love the food by dining in.

Enjoyed our first visit here but probably won’t return. Sergios and Tutta Bella are better for traditional northern Italian fare. The carbonara ($22) was wrong - cream sauce, not enough parm, no egg. It was more like a runny alfredo with a few onions and a little bacon. The branzino in photo was very good ($25) in a delicate tomato caper sauce. The dining room is small, long and narrow - felt like a hallway. The service was quite good - except they didn’t know which diner in a party of six ordered which item. Also, waters ran out, and had to ask several times for check. Not horrible, but not perfect.

Normally I would never give such a long rating to an establishment. We were there for a holiday party. The next day everybody came down. The next day half of the people that were there came down with the stomach virus. I was one of them. Not blaming the establishment. But I must make a note that this was the experience that I had here.

Came here for dinner, really wanted to like this place because I saw it was rated over 4 stars, which is the only reason why I chose this place, but was extremely disappointed. The restaurant had an off-putting smell to it, (at least where my table was.) The service was horrible and un attentive from the beginning all the way to end, which was frustrating as the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. There was an ample amount of fruit flies, some of which flew into our drinks. After we finished our bread we realized there was a small bug in the wax paper under the bread. The main courses after that was nothing to rave about. A couple people at my table even got sick. I don’t know how this place has the rating it does, I would give it zero stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place !!

Today on a rainy day my husband and I went to eat here. I was told I could not have on my hat, my hair and hat were wet. We left. Definitely will not return.

I had a reservation here for my mother’s birthday. After we were seated, we waited over 20 minutes for menus even though our waitress kept walking around us and looking at us so she could obviously tell for those 20+ minutes that we didn’t have menus. The place wasn’t even busy. It wasn’t late, either. It was only 7:30. I asked to start everyone off with seltzer only to have another waitress mix our half full seltzers with tap water. Once we got our dinner after finally ordering, the food was cold. Our plates did not live up to the images posted on their website at all. The presentation was ugly, sloppy, overall mediocre. We ordered wine and never got it. We didn’t even want to stay for dessert, we asked for the check and it turned out that we were billed for the wine. We had them remove the charges. Then when we got the final bill to sign, they gave us someone else’s bill so they had to void it from my account and give us our actual bill. After paying, our waitress came up to us and said “oh there’s a birthday?” And my mother said “oh, no.” As we were about to leave, my mom was given a cheesecake. Although I appreciate the gesture, we just wanted to leave ASAP to celebrate elsewhere. I have never experienced service, quality, and food like that before. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Don’t come here.
