Il Grillo Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini Reviews
I've had the opportunity to discover this wonderful place. I stop by every now and then for dinner and have always had a great time. Excellent hospitality, good food, well-served, highly recommended 🤩
Fantastic place, the food is really good, the waiters are super nice and friendly. Lo Stra I definitely recommend them, I'll be going there more often.
The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming. The staff is incredibly friendly: Fabrizio and Michela take turns serving, combining friendliness and professionalism. Dishes are prepared with excellent ingredients, carefully cooked, and expertly presented by the Chef, who is also the owner and personally takes the customer's feedback into consideration.
We were welcomed by the very friendly Mrs. Nella, and then Fabrizio pampered us and recommended some delicious truffles. Finally, Giovanni, with his charm and humor, came to the table to grate the white truffle. Thanks to you, we had a wonderful Sunday. We'll be back and recommend it to all our friends.
Ok
A very comfortable, local restaurant with a long menu, good food and adequate service. It is not a first class restaurant but when we return to the area, it will be our go-to restaurant. Parking, of course, can be a challenge.
It's always a lovely place, with a small hiccup the last time. I pointed out to a waitress that my risotto was slightly undercooked. I'm a huge rice fan, so I'm disappointed that when I objected, they politely replied that's how they make it... it wasn't al dente, it was undercooked, and I left a little bit in case they wanted to check. The salami basket is always very attractive, but despite the many salamis inside, there are only two types, in my opinion, with different textures; the potato salami is only seasonal. I think it was just a small inconvenience. The homemade desserts, served with local wine, are amazing. In my previous review, I wrote: "Where does it happen that you order a plate of cold cuts as an appetizer, and they bring you a basket overflowing with salami where you can eat as much as you want?" Nowhere, since I eat out often, have I ever experienced something like this, not even by hearsay. It's lovely because it's a very homey concept that makes you feel like you're in the countryside, whether you're a vacationer or a city dweller. Five stars, all deserved, because with 300 people seated the night I went, I was served well, quickly, with what I wanted, and I ate truly, truly well. A fantastic Castelmagno crepe and prosciutto and shank cooked with the local Erbaluce wine, Caluso to be precise. A historic place, I recommend you visit it, exceptional.

All very good with such real friendly service! To me that is the best combination to come back 😉 Offers seafood that is so fresh! Although i missed having their pizza so that night we had our pizza date night. A must try the "shrimp and zucchini." Their pizza dough is highly digestable. Did not feel heavy in the tummy at all. Highly recommend Il Grillo in Caluso 😊
Exspesive for what you get.
Nornalissimo
I was there for the first time because someone recommended the place. We ordered a pizza and 2 portions Fiorentina di fassone. The meat was dry and chewy. Some parts of it were so raw you could make a tartare out of them and other parts we're ok. I asked for my raw piece of meat to be cooked again, and the server seemed annoyed by it. When I got it back it was well done, chewy, dry and so bad. For 40€ a piece I'm expecting some really good meat. In the menu the price was 4€ per 100g and it said minimum 500g and we got to pay 40€ for it. Worst experience ever, would not recommend even tho the pizza is cheap and alright. The wine is overpriced and the coffee was probably the worst I had in Italy. In my picture you can see the meat it's both raw and overcooked. Go somewhere else!
I think the worst pizza I've ever eaten (and I lived abroad for several years). Maybe I was unlucky, maybe it was too late in the evening. But that pizza was definitely a refrigerated one. What a shame.
Mm.
