Used the app to grab lunch for my son and I on my way home from work on a Saturday. Received the notification my food was ready as soon as I walked through the door. The dude who greeted me and handed me my food was super upbeat and made sure I got both my root beers even though the receipt wasnt very legible. Gotta have the root beer!
Took my 87 year old mother there and we had such a great time! The music flowed along with the decor and the top notch service matched the delicious food. My mother couldn't decide on her bacon blue cheese burger or fish fry seeing how it was Friday, so we had both and she kept saying it was the best she has had in decades! Thank you Tom Whals! 😋😍

What a pleasant surprise to find a great pub near the Erie Canal! Stopped in for lunch and enjoyed the Turkey Club with homemade spicy chips! I had a Tuna Melt without the bread because I needed a break and it was fine with the lettuce and tomato! Got to meet the owner's sister and her friend who were so friendly and helpful with the menu orders!!! Loved the sports bar vibe that is also welcoming for families too!! Will return to try the big beer selection!! P.S. The bathrooms are cute and clean too!!!
Came here a few weeks ago with my family while on vacation in this area for lunch and was expecting fast food. Never heard of this place before. Now we got in and I was so happy it was a diner. They had some of the BEST burgers I have ever eaten! The booths were really cozy and hit the spot for a diner experience. They even had a jukebox in the corner u could play. I’m a diner buff and love me a good diner vibe and this was spot on ! Would most definitely highly recommend this place . I also got a strawberry milkshake with rainbow sprinkles uhh the chefs kiss right there. I wish we had one of these diners in Delaware but we don’t sadly. The root beer is homemade it wasn’t the best but I have had worse root beer. We will definitely be eating here again if we r up this area. And that’s a man’s word right there!

First time at a Tom Wahl's and brought the extended family. The staff were great and patient as we worked away through the menu board. Huge portion when it comes to fries with cheese and some sort of meat, better to order one and split it. Really clean store. Avoid the veggie burger, it's not very good,
Brought my son in for a burger for the first time here he loved it we had a great outing father and son. A great spot for the classic burger and fries outing
Drove the long way home from Danbury Connecticut back to Youngstown and just had to stop at your burger place and I think it was well worth it. We love the root beer fries were great and the burgers were good, what also made my day was the staff was very nice and polite and quick service, glad I heard your commercial on Quinn in the morning
Was very excited to try the wahlburger. I've been to the Tom Wahl's in Avon many times. And somehow hadn't heard of the wahlberger. Honestly, I was a little disappointed with it. It's like a Cuban sandwich mixed with a burger. The place is clean, the service is good, I just wouldn't go with this choice again.
I love tom Wahls restaurants but this one left a lot to be desired. They didn't get our order right. The lady wasn't very knowledgeable and had to ask her boss. Very slow.
Cute place. I really like the theme old soda shop. I had grilled chicken which was chewy and kind of tasteless. Fries definitely could have been seasoned more or seasoned in general. They were big crinkle cut fries so they looked awesome but the taste fell flat. The cheeseburger and GF cheeseburger were good. They had onions on the GF one. So those were good. We also got strawberry and chocolate shake and both were really good!!! Strawberry one has real strawberry and looked really good!!
In Perinton! My burger barely had a bottom bun. I told the counter gal. She did not seem bothered by it. She said when they tear the buns apart they can tear like that. Seems like poor quality control to me. You cannot successfully manage the burger with only a quarter of the bottom bun! A let down. The owner or manager responded to my post, but I do not remember when I was here. Basically only 1 week prior to my original post. He wrote that he'd like to make it 'right'. I would like them to make it right too. I have not gone back, & I was back in Rochester in 2/19. I ate at their Bill Gray's in Webster in 2/19. That experience was consistently good. 3/16/24: Their garbage 🗑 Junker Plate 🍽 was not as big or as good/ as Bill Gray's.
Visiting a customer in the area and figured try a local chain place. Ordered the Wahl burger, fries, and frosted mug of root beer. The burger was just ok, a bit unique with the ham and swiss on top of the patty but the patty and bun are a bit thin. The fries were ok, appear to be standard crinkle cut but no seasoning on them so had to add salt which is rare for me. The root beer is probably the highlight since made by them. Overall I think I prefer a Culvers meal over this but don't know if you don't try new places. Thus on to the next.
Food is pretty good. Unfortunately the staff are not the sharpest tools in the shed. I cannot recall when that last time was that I had an order taken correctly and got what I ordered or paid for.
Burgers were horrible. It's way to thin. Everything gets saturated with a simple tomato, very very messy. The table we sat at was sticky. Wasn't clean. French fries and onion rings were excellent but I won't be going again.
To begin with, i did order the food through delivery - so take this in to account while reviewing. I had ordered a Haddock Fish Dinner and Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The fish dinner arrived with fish overdone and the Buffalo Chicken sandwich had no kick or spice to it. Probably should have tried in Dine in for what i wanted to eat but expected better.
Came with my 2 kids waited for 30 min for our food not great everyone in restaurants that night was wanting at least 30 min for a burger
Recently had the Wahlburger combo. The burger was dripping with grease and tasteless. The french fry container was overflowing and the serving tray was literally covered with more fries (easily more than 4 times what was in the container). I mentioned this to two counter employees and their reply was sometimes more fries get dumped on the tray. This was just plain sloppy and wasteful. Definitely not worth the $18.00 price.
