Mama's Daughter's Diner Plano Reviews
Lure Ball Bites — Today’s Catch: Starting the day here felt like entering a cozy Johto Gym with a simple setup, newspaper-covered tables, and atmosphere stats that quietly boost morale. Service moved with Quick Attack speed. I blinked and the Chicken Fried Steak, over-easy eggs, hashbrowns, and biscuits with gravy were already on the field. The steak and gravy combo hit like a high-powered physical move, and those buttery biscuits were soft enough to feel like a well-timed Soft-Boiled heal. The only move that didn’t Critical Hit was the hash browns. They were fully cooked but missing that crispy edge, like a Fire move without the burn chance. Still, this battle ends in a guaranteed spot in the breakfast rotation and worth a visit for those looking for a good breakfast spot.
Everyone here was so kind and helpful. The service was so incredibly fast and the food was great. Shout out Lynette! Plus the vibes are top tier 10/10
Wonderful food, service and appreciate the kindness of the staff. The staff is willing to make our visit a great experience. Very helpful and interactive with customers.
Great homestyle cooking. Awesome tasty coffee! Lynette, our server, was so friendly and fun, we felt like we were with an old friend. Such a great experience!
Food was good! I had a breakfast meal.. Yummy eggs, cooked medium, asked for crispy bacon and it came out perfect. The biscuits and gravy soooo good. Husband had the Friday special, chicken fried chicken steak meal... WOW the Cole slaw perfect and the squash right up there. Do you notice.... Can't go wrong eating here. Food for all. Many choices. Oh yest credit cards accepted.
Mama’s Daughter’s Diner in Plano is a great local spot for breakfast or brunch. The menu has a ton of variety, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked fresh and homemade. I had an omelette and pancakes, and both were excellent — the pancakes especially were light, fluffy, and full of flavor. Portion sizes are generous for the price, and the service was quick and friendly. The nostalgic diner vibe gives the place a really comfortable, old-school feel. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!
Showed up 30 minutes before closing during a stormy night. The waitresses were so accommodating and so nice after a day of travel with 3 kids, we felt so welcomed and right at home. They even ensured that we had a safe place to go during the storm. The food was amazing, affordable, and we cannot wait to travel back just to visit Mama's Daughter's Diner again!
We came here for brunch after church and everything was really good! The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for a Sunday meal. The cornbread was absolutely amazing! We’ll definitely be back!
We stopped by Mama’s Daughters’ Diner before work and had a really great experience. We ordered biscuits and gravy, which came out very quickly. The price was excellent—just $5 for two biscuits and gravy. We initially ordered two portions, but it seems the server thought we wanted three, which actually worked out perfectly since we were three people. Even for three of us, we had a decent breakfast for only $15, and we even took some home! The biscuits and gravy were amazing—fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly and efficient, making it easy to grab breakfast and get out quickly before work. The ambience of the diner was very nice, with a cozy, welcoming feel that makes it a great spot for a quick breakfast or brunch. Overall, we were in and out quickly, had fresh, delicious food, and the experience was fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick, affordable, and tasty Southern-style breakfast!
REALLY GOOD FOOD! The side dish of corn wasn’t all that but the green beans were pretty tasty and made up for it. Personally I really enjoyed the fried okra, it was hot and crunchy. The real star of the meal was the homemade rolls, cornbread, and biscuits!!! So fluffy and delicious. I have personally had better chicken fried steak, but it was still very well made and tasty regardless! For the price, portions, service and food, you can’t beat this diner spot. Best spot in the area for a good quality breakfast or lunch.
They food was delicious and had good portions. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. The only negative was that it was hot in there. We are in Texas and it is HOT in August, so I'm chalking that up to the A/C doing the best that it can. 😀 Overall the experience was delightful.
Cozy 50s spot! Great, Southern comfort food! Service with a smile. Plenty of parking. Short wait time. Waitresses were accommodating and food was absolutely delicious!! We will return when we are in this area again! Everything was delicious! (I wasn't a fan of the peach cobbler. I was looking for more of a homemade crust. However, the ice cream on top made up for it.)
I was driving and saw this restaurant. Decided to give it a try. The place is really nice decorated , clean and friendly service. You can either it outside or inside. I hade the beef tips plate it was very delicious. The cornbread is really good, I’m craving me some more. I will definitely be coming back 👍
It was delicious. The staff was kind and attentive. The best French toast I've ever eaten. My daughter loved her pancakes so much she took a picture. It was a welcoming environment and although staff shortage was apparent, it didn't feel like it. If I'm in the area, I will absolutely make this my go to place for some good eats.
Love this place! Been going here for over 20 years off and on! Their menu hasn't changed since day one and that's why I always go back! Service is always pretty good, but can be a little rushed.

The cinnamon roll is awesome when available. Large portion, sometimes enough to share. Very reasonable price for it. Save room for it. Best when eaten warm. Apple and pecan tucked in the crevices. Also extra delicious when you add a little butter on it for ooey gooey extra love, but fine without it too!
The place is an old time diner setting. It's a little dated. The service is excellent. We each had a typical breakfast with bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy. The food was good but the best was the biscuit. It was buttery, flaky perfection!
Really like this place. The food is really good and the staff is friendly! When we visited recently the server joked saying “no” when we asked if we could get our food items… but then actually forgot to bring us some of the items lol. She didn’t come back to our table for awhile so was almost finished by the time we had a chance to ask for those items.

I love the prices here! You get everything for literally nothing; I ordered Togo, and Zaria provided the best customer service. She patiently answered all my questions about the menu and was super nice at the curbside pickup even though it was raining. The food was a bit mediocre, if I’m being completely honest. The meatloaf was a nice portion, but the flavor was just decent, nothing amazing. The mashed potatoes and turnip greens needed some seasoning. The mac & cheese was the best of all. I may give them another try just cause it’s so reasonable, TBD!
Stopped here one morning for a breakfast. Outside was pretty cute and the inside was very nostalgic. However, immediately upon entering, it smelled of sewer. The fact I didn’t immediately turn away and walk out blew my mind. But someone approached almost as immediately as the smell and I just couldn’t walk away. So into the smelly abyss I went. My nose adjusted after a while but still. Why be open if something is wrong with your lines and subject people to this awfulness?! I thought that was in poor taste. I ordered chicken and waffles. It was good. The service was a bit lackluster, though. Someone showed up right as I sat down and asked for my order. I hadn’t even had time to look at the menu. And at the end of my meal, she dropped my ticket and walked away. There was no “can I get you anything else?”, “thanks for coming”, nothing. Just drop and run. I put my card on the table and waited for a while before she finally came back to see if I was okay and I said I was ready. Turns out you don’t pay at the table. Would have been nice to have known that when she dropped the check. Maybe the other restaurant locations are better but this was just average for me.
We went here for the Tuesday special fried chicken. Really disappointed because the chicken came out as if it had been cooked sometime ago. It lacked depth of flavor and wasn't crispy and hot. …

Was not impressed. The food was fine, coffee was weak almost watered down, service was so-so, cost to food ratio was good, and the restaurant style/decor was cool.

The food was just alright. Service was good except how are you charging $7 a piece for an orange juice and then only filled me and my boyfriends up half way.

Should be zero stars perhaps worst service in my lifetime. Bathroom disgusting as well. Food average and not filling the hype of any online reviews. Mashed potatoes likely instant. Waitress had a attitude said one point to my wife what does she want. No take out containers and we had to ask someone else. Person taking payment at front almost as bad. Really disappointed
