Bosphorus Port Washington Reviews
Just had a wonderful lunch at this great Turkish cafe and grill. The waiters were very attentive, food was delicious and the decor definitely added to the vibe.
I has visited February 07 2026 Amazing place , staff friendly, food quality is good i suggest guys chiken soup just wow with turkish bread😊
Excellent Turkish cuisine. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Appetizers are sharable. Main courses are also sharable. Most everything on the menu is made in house and the kitchen will accommodate requests. Vegetarian and vegan options available. You won't be disappointed.
Today was a big snow day. My family get together and we went out to try this place. I have a Turkish friend they recommended me this place. It was worth it. We ordered the Lava bread it was so delicious with mixed appetizers plate. Spicy feta Babaganush eggplant with tomato was exellent! Mixed kebab plate enough for 2. We have no space for dessert lol next time :)
We didn’t expect the quality to be this good. We thought it would be another Turkish restaurant on the island. I think it’s best to say that he gained a loyal customer after tonight and we will try to go there more often. The waiters were extra friendly! The owner comes around the tables and welcomes his customers like they are his friends!
If you’re craving authentic Turkish cuisine, Bosphorus is an absolute gem. Every visit has exceeded my expectations. The staff is always warm, kind, and attentive, making the experience feel special from the moment you walk in. The real highlight, of course, is the food. My favorites are the mixed grill and the Turkish ravioli, truly chef’s kiss. The lavash bread is another must-try: perfectly puffy, soft, and absolutely delicious, especially when paired with their spreads. Even their takeout impresses me…they package everything so thoughtfully that it feels like a full restaurant experience at home. Whether you’re dining in for a cozy night out or grabbing something to-go, Bosphorus never disappoints. Highly recommend!
The food was very delicious! The service was great and fast. We were seated right away where we wanted to seat. Of cause we had made reservations. Our dishes that we ordered were very well made and delicious. The lamb chops were very tender and not chewy and very favorable. We the blow up flat bread with an eggplant spread, and was a perfect mix. I do recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
Just discovered Bosphorus Cafe Grill, and I’m so glad I did! We had the authentic fried liver (so good!), delicious moussaka, perfect Turkish pizza, and a super fresh salad with perfectly grilled salmon—moist and flavorful, not dry at all like it often is elsewhere. Cetin was an excellent maître D, making us feel right at home and even putting on French music for us, which made the event extra special. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their best dishes! This place is a real find for Mediterranean food lovers. ✅👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is one of our go-to places for delicious, healthy Turkish food. The fresh mezze appetizers are so good to share. My favs are the yogurt based ones, and the spicy feta, but they’re all great with the homemade bread. Love the lamb dishes. Expertly done. And if you go for brunch, try the menemen, eggs with tomatoes and peppers, or the breakfast pide, which is fresh bread baked with egg and cheese inside.
We have been to Bosphorus Café Grill a few times now, and always had a great experience. Today we had the Lavas bread, Turkish ezme, fried liver cubes, mixed grill, lamb chops, and Iskender kebab. All were amazing, succulent, fresh, and full of flavor. Special mention to the friendly, attentive, and highly proactive service. Vibes are always relaxed and friendly, space is clean and calm. We are definitely coming back soon!
I recently dined at Bosphorus Cafe Grill, and it was an exceptional experience. The Turkish/Mediterranean cuisine was a delightful blend of flavors, and the ambiance transported me to the heart of Istanbul. The staff was attentive, and each dish showcased the authenticity and skill of the chefs. I highly recommend trying their kebabs and baklava for a true taste of the region. A must-visit for those seeking a culinary journey through the Mediterranean.
Great first impression of this wonderful find. Delicious appetizers, great portions. We had the 4-appetizer platter. The hummus, babaghanous, ezme and cacik were spot on! I had the St.Peter’s fish with spinach, my wife had the chicken Shish kebab, and our friends had a chicken salad and the shrimp/fish combo dish. An amazing culinary experience. Our compliments to the chef! We will be back! Crowded for a Sunday evening, but our server Aziz made us feel well attended to.
Diverse, tasty menu of Turkish fare. Even those not used to Mediterranean food will find many options here! Outdoor and indoor seating, lovely decor, friendly servers. We especially enjoyed the fried zucchini pancakes, chicken kabobs and Turkish fries (w/Feta cheese, parsley). Good value for the area.
Great Turkish experience. Great service, great location, decent selection of drinks. Fantastic selection of appetizers. Flavorful choices all across their menu. Only downside was the size of the place: it can be tight and feel crowded. The Turkish coffee was not great, felt a bit muddy... but this is not their fault, I will stick to regular coffee. Definitely a must visit if you are around this area.
Turkish comfort food, like a whole afternoon of piping fresh lavash, hummus, baba ganoush, quinoa, spicy feta ... pide, washed down with a crisp Efes. With us being vegetarian this is our GO TO almost every time. And we also had enough room once to add in a falafel sammy. If you are a meat eater you also will not be disappointed ... friends and fam have never complained about it for sure, haha! The crew is very pro, polite, friendly. You're never rushed here - another biggy for a good stretch of comfort food day out in my book. Love coming back here at least once a year. Kick back, relax under their wicked lamps. Then I guess eventually head home.
Friends took us to this Turkish restaurant in the Port Washington area of New York. Quaint location with seating outside. We shared most of the items we ordered. Some must tries are the liver cubes served with onions and tomatoes. The labena was excellent and flavorful paired with bread. Drinks were artfully done with the Turkish martini taking first place, served with Turkish delight. Great selection of authentic Turkish food. We made reservations for our group.
Service was good. Atmosphere is cozy. Unfortunately the food was incredibly salty. Multiple people in our party complained it was close to inedible because of how salty it was. If it was not salty, it would’ve been excellent as the flavor was otherwise very good. Perhaps an error happened in the kitchen or the chef had a bad day. This was my first time trying this restaurant.
