Cambry's Puebla Reviews
A good place for tacos. Prices have gone up over time, so if you haven't tried them before, they might seem expensive. There are only a few tables, and it's cozy. Their flan is delicious! There's a parking lot right in front because parking is prohibited, but if you order takeout, there shouldn't be a problem. They have a sign that says "No service from vehicles" or something like that, so you'll have to get out to place your order.
They're delicious, although sometimes the meat is better than other days. They don't always taste as delicious. Their sauce is delicious. There's no parking, and traffic cops do drive by and take your car.
Much appreciated, very nice!
The tacos are good, I really liked the thick shawarma tortilla, the meat is good but it gave me the impression of spicy meat, the salsa is good and what I really loved was the shawarma taco with cheese, I feel that the price is in line with what they offer, the place is big and they also have desserts.
I first came across this place when I still lived in Mexico City, about 30 years ago. These tacos al pastor are different; the meat marinade is a secret recipe. I ask that you return to the original recipe. The last time you tried it, the recipe had changed, and it's definitely not better. Maybe it's the meat too, I don't know. I just ask that you go back to the recipe from years ago.
I didn't like being made to wait with their little chain at the entrance when there was a table available and unused, plus other people waiting. Later they improved their communication, but at the beginning it seemed like only the taco lady was working, with a Juan Escutia syndrome, trying to do everything like some kind of hero of the taco stand... and that caused unnecessary wait times 🤷🏼♂️ The flan is an unbeatable delight!! The tacos and the flavor of the meat are good.
It's not the same anymore. The salsas are getting waterier and the tacos have very little meat and are expensive. Since the owner died, everything has gone downhill. It's a shame because they used to be some of the best in Puebla.
We tried them as part of a taco arabica tour in downtown Puebla. Honestly, they didn't work for me. The recipe is extremely spicy and they can be quite heavy. The best part was the torta. The price-quality ratio isn't great. The tacos arabica are very small and expensive. We went on a Saturday at 4 pm and waited in line for 20 minutes to get in. I wouldn't go back; they're not my cup of tea.
Great flavor, worth the price of the taco. Terrible service, they made us wait outside when there was a table available. They serve you poorly and grudgingly. I wish they'd train their staff better; they don't even know what they're selling.
Fatal!!
We arrived and the table was dirty; they never cleaned it. The place was empty, and they took about 30 minutes to ask us what we wanted. The table was never cleaned, the meat was awful—the pieces were huge, dry, sour, and tasteless—and the hibiscus water was sour like it was from the day before. The service was terrible. 😮💨
The tacos are very good. But the wait time to be served is the worst; I don't know if the staff isn't trained, if the owner doesn't pay them well, if they're victims of workplace abuse, or if they haven't hired staff who are eager to serve... but it's unbelievable that for one taco, just one! You have to wait an hour and a half. I ordered takeout; there were other people there, but nothing extraordinary, and there were people waiting for a table even though the place had empty tables, and even then the taquero wasn't doing his job, responding to people in an arrogant way. The owner seems to forget that they became famous through TikTok and that when people go there and receive that kind of treatment, they can also tarnish that reputation. The owner needs to take the time to put more heart, more care, and more kindness into his business.
It's such a shame! They used to have some of the best tacos in Puebla! They raised their prices excessively, and the quality dropped drastically. Honestly, it's not worth the price at all. The salsa used to be delicious, and now it doesn't even have any flavor—nothing like what the owner started with. They're really going from bad to worse. The service is terrible. There are several young people working, but they're not there to serve customers. The cashier is awful; they take ages to serve you, and to top it all off, they even make you wait for your change! It's a shame because it was an excellent business with a great reputation in Puebla, but they're on the verge of going under with the new management.
I returned after many years, remembering how delicious they used to be. They're nothing like they used to be. The tacos are just average, made by hand, cold, and the meat is pale. That's when I started to suspect they weren't the same. When I tasted them, the meat was extremely dark red, they were cold, and the flavor was just awful. They're a shadow of what they once were, and the place hasn't changed, just a little dirtier. They've lost their charm.
There is NOTHING left of what these tacos were, it is only “fame” before the meat had a delicious flavor on its own, since the owner passed away it has gone from bad to worse, not even with lemon and salsa do they get flavor, the meat was super mega dry… it looked like a charcoal taco…. 😡👎🏻
For years, I enjoyed going to this place for lunch or dinner. I thought they had some of the best seasoning in the preparation of their meat. But now their prices are absurd. It's impossible for a taco to cost 40 pesos and a torta 50. Plus, last time, the tacos were dripping with fat. In short, the product no longer justifies the price. Too bad.
Nothing like the tacos they made a few years ago. Every time I go to order, they make a mistake. This time they didn't add any salsa, even though I asked the waiter twice to add some. Terrible service, and they're very slow. What a shame.
