Celia's Cafe Puebla Reviews
Came here for breakfast, top 5 I've ever had. Wonderful ambiance, service and food.We had the chalupas poblanas, salsa serrana and and enchiladas suizas. Mr. Raul, the pianist elevated the experience with his beautiful melodies. 10/10
A really charming place to stop in for a drink. The piano player was top class and an absolute gentleman.
Just a wonderful, surreal breakfast experience! Feels like your sat in a stately home back room, everyone said hello to us and was friendly, there was a live classical pianist who said he was happy to take requests! Food arrived quickly and was fresh, delicious, the perfect place to enjoy mole poblano! They were even happy for us to tweak the menu for no meat etc. We browsed the pottery afterwards and bought some to take home. Absolutely loved it here!
Happened across this awesome restaurant by chance. We were exhausted after a long day of walking and were looking for a quiet, peaceful place to relax and chat. Barbara, the super positive great-granddaughter of founder Celia, took us to her "garden" way in the back. It was so relaxing, the food was great and the people who work there are really nice. We will definitely be back. 👍
Great service, great food, and a great relaxing ambiance. I had lunch here (at someone's recommendation), loved it, and went back the next day for breakfast. I wanted to also go there for dinner, but didn't manage to get there before leaving Puebla. > Overall, best breakfast I had in Puebla > Great lunch Jim
Stumbled on this awesome restaurant by chance. Barbara, the super-positive great granddaughter of the founder Celia, welcomed us in. We told her we were looking for a quiet, peaceful place to drink b…
Amazing spot. Had La Serrana (chorizo, eggs, salsa roja, bread, etc) and it was to. die. for. Wife had the tlacoyos and they were also incredible. Fantastic cappuccino as well. Staff was friendly,…
A cute little place . It was ok . Though, for me they should take care of the bathrooms. The problem with water in Mexico is getting to a dangerous level . I recommend you to never drink water from the faucet , or have ice in any drink . To avoid stomach problems drink beer or tequila .
Great little patio out back to enjoy your breakfast. Quiet setting with good food. I've been here twice and haven't been disappointed. Staff is polite and helpful, as well.
The place is nice but portions are a bit on the small side. Great flavor and great in house made bread.Order the Serrano eggs with chilaquiles on the side and the tlacoyos.
This cafe inside a talavera store has some nice breakfast options on the menu - thumbs up for the ginger smoothie and the yoghurt, fruit and granola!
A decent option for breakfast with charming, laid back atmosphere. We enjoyed a simple, somewhat expensive breakfast of: decent espresso drinks; a plate of melon and papaya slices with a smattering of yogurt and granola; and a healthy egg white omelette with queso panela and spinach. The highlight of this place is the old world ambience, which includes handmade ceramics on display and a semi-outdoor patio in the back of the restaurant. Spent about $180mxn per person.
Good pipian sauce (pumpkin seed), but I think I've never had a scrawnier chicken thigh (read: hardly no meat, see picture), served with an unimaginative cup of rice. Take off about 50 pesos in the price and it should be about right.
It's a lovely place with attentive and friendly service. Though I think it's best to go for a traditional Poblano dish. I went for the chicken salad as I wasn't that hungry, which was very average and then coffee and chocolate cake after which again was average. They didn't show me the bill before charging and it turned out to be the wrong bill entirely. Was overall a little disappointing though maybe I caught them on the wrong day.
Bad experience! First of all, the place is very old and it seems it consists of abandoned rooms. Not mentioned about the ancient rest room which doesn't have a lock! The food was eatable, but one dish is definitely not enough for a young man. They offer only a choice of 3 dishes for kids. The service was ok, BUT one thing made me really disappointed: I offered their hot cakes, but they looked terrible! Very thin and not appetising at all. My son also got hot cakes, but those were nice - soft and fluffy. I asked to remake my hot cakes like my son had. They simply denied my favour. So I had to cancel my offer at all. I believe they should satisfy the needs of their clients if they want them back taking into account what price they demand for their dishes. This is definitely not my case.
