Da Giovanni Quincinetto Reviews
If you want to eat mushrooms, this is the place! I've tasted porcini mushrooms and porcini mushrooms raw and cooked in various ways (baked, sautéed, fried) and in pasta sauces: fabulous!
A restaurant with a sea view, very delicious dishes, 5* service, I was recommended a pasta, unfortunately I don't remember the name, but it was so delicious that even though I was full, I would have eaten another portion, the seafood-based sauce 💚🤍❤️ amazing!!! The desserts are also delicious, a very great wine list, a must with dinner.
Da Giovanni is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The hospitality was beyond exceptional—Giovanni himself, along with his son, personally served us, adding a warm, family touch to the meal. The dedication to quality is evident in every bite, with everything being homemade and freshly sourced directly from their own plants and animals. It doesn’t get more authentic than this. The service was incredibly fast and generous. They didn’t just serve us a meal; they offered us an experience. We were treated to an endless array of delights, including unlimited wine, freshly picked mushrooms, and more. Every dish was brimming with flavor, and the portions were so generous that we completely overindulged. Despite this feast, the cost was shockingly reasonable—just €35 per person, including wine, which is an absolute steal. The meal itself was a masterpiece from start to finish. We began with a delicious entrée, followed by perfectly crafted pasta, a sampling of their main meat dishes, and then not one but two desserts to round things off. Add in coffee and more wine than we could count, and it truly felt like a celebration of food. If you’re anywhere near the area, missing out on Da Giovanni would be a mistake. This is not just a meal—it’s an unforgettable experience.
Quincinetto restaurant, very popular in the area. Dinner with relatives, our first time. We made reservations because, especially during the fresh mushroom season, it's very difficult to find a table. The atmosphere is a bit retro, but well-maintained. The service was excellent, from the welcome to the bill. We tried several dishes. The mixed antipasto was good, especially the raw meat. The mushrooms in oil are addictive, delicious (unfortunately, they're also the most expensive appetizer). The fried brain with artichokes was excellent, as were the Valdostana cutlet and fried porcini mushrooms. I also enjoyed the hazelnut dessert with zabaglione. I also tried other dishes (mushroom risotto and mushroom soup) and enjoyed them all. We spent about €40 per person, which, considering the €50 price tag for porcini mushrooms in oil, seems reasonable.
Everything was perfect! We discovered this restaurant completely by chance while driving and I highly recommend it! The menu specializes in porcini mushrooms! We tried the porcini in oil, a must-try, then the tagliolini (with porcini) and the veal (with porcini) – it was delicious. The prices are very reasonable! And the service was impeccable! If I'm ever back in the area, I'll definitely return. Thank you again for this wonderful experience!
Very good food, very nice waiters and ambiente.
TOP!!!
Friendly staff and very tasty dishes. The mushroom soup was to die for! Average price: appetizer + first course + wine = €23 per person. I would only work on efficiency in setting tables and problem-solving during busy times (the reasoning "there's no room" > "someone must be almost finished eating" > "how do I understand this?" > "someone ordered coffee" shouldn't be me, but the waiter or manager).
Personale molto cortese. Cibo ottimo, a partire dai funghi serviti come antipasto sott'olio in un grosso barat…
We booked at Giovanni's and found the place to be old-fashioned but very clean, with professional and friendly staff. Parking wasn't exactly easy, especially when there were a lot of cars, but we managed to find a spot for our car and enjoyed dinner, where the famous mushrooms reign supreme: the house mixed antipasto (the vitello tonnato wasn't special, to be honest, while the other options were delicious), the super jar of delicious mushrooms in oil, which are priced by weight so you have to be careful, a delicious mushroom risotto, and a mushroom fillet with roast potatoes that melted in your mouth. We didn't order dessert because we were full, but we were very satisfied with the quality of the food and a little less so with the final bill (€20 per person just for mushrooms in oil, eaten straight from the jar!), but for once, it's okay.
A place with a slightly retro feel, but very well kept. Mushrooms reign supreme in every corner, with jars and bolognese from every source. Very attentive, friendly, and professional staff. The cuisine is top-notch. Everything is excellent. The mushroom-based dishes are excellent, and the mushrooms in oil are special. The bill is proportionate to what you eat, a bit higher due to the choice of bottled wine. Worth a try, and sure to return!
A good restaurant located in the village of Quincetto, a bit unassuming on the outside but elegant and well-maintained inside. Traditional Piedmontese dishes (agnolotti and meats in a Langhe hazelnut crust) with some creative options like snails or fried brains. The desserts are very good (apple pie with mascarpone and ice cream with warm berries).
A lovely, welcoming restaurant located on the hill above Quincinetto. Typical Piedmontese cuisine. It's a shame the portions are too small for the rather high final bill. It's strange, because this isn't the place for those who come to Piedmont to "gorge themselves." I would have expected more generous portions, but the opposite is true. Average/high quality/price ratio.
If they hadn't ruined the bill, it would have been an excellent experience. Christmas Day, mandatory fixed menu €40 per person. No changes, just a separate payment for bottled wine. Everything was very good, except for the first courses, which were nothing special. Among the appetizers, we were given a jar full of mushrooms in oil. When we got the bill, we noticed that in addition to the bottles (rightfully so), there was an item (mushrooms €30). When we asked for an explanation, they told us that we had even been discounted because they would normally cost €50. Yes, but who asked for them? NO ONE! Since the menu was fixed, we assumed they were included; no one mentioned anything when they were delivered to the table, and no one asked for them. They were undoubtedly delicious, we would have gladly paid for them, but it was a textbook rip-off. The jar was present at every table, and no one had asked for them. €30 per table for 20 tables, they made a €600 margin without anyone knowing.
