What Customers Say About Cha Thai
Cha Thai is a popular spot known for large portions and flavorful dishes, especially the drunken noodles and yellow curry. Spice levels can be mild, but you can request extra heat. Some find the Pad Thai too sweet or noodle-heavy, and consistency can vary.

Cha Thai Rancho Cordova Reviews
The food is delicious!!! I love Thai and try it everywhere I travel to and this one is authentic!! I’m sad I don’t live here and can’t have it more often! Highly recommend!!
What a delightful lunch on the patio on a beautiful day! The presentation was beautiful and the food was scrumptious! Our server was attentative, just perfect! My sisters and I were very happy, and one of them is a professional chef! I am so glad we discovered this place.
Came here with my best friend, we ordered the catfish and duck curries, and mango rice. Food was absolutely delicious, good prices too. Service was also very good, server was polite, friendly, and seemed down to earth all without being invasive. Inside is also very nice, came here around 5 and the perfect mix of sunlight with shade through the trees made for a wonderful atmosphere. Fantastic experience. Next time I'm in Sac, Cha Thai will be top of my list.
My biggest gripe is that they're not open on Saturdays, because we LOVE their food. The orange chicken is the freshest I've ever had. My partner loves the yellow curry.
I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather lately due to the nasty conditions we've had over the past few days. My husband suggested eating out instead of cooking since we needed to go to Lowe's. We decided to try a nearby restaurant. Even though their Google reviews weren’t great, we still wanted to give it a shot. (I love Thai food) I had tofu pad see ew, he had pork panang curry, and we shared Thai bbq pork ribs. I’d never had pad see ew with thin noodles before, but it was good! It wasn’t too salty or sweet, just flavorful. The Panang curry had a nice coconut flavor, and the pork ribs were unique but tasty. They also served chopped Thai chili peppers in a fishy sauce as a side chili condiments (not sure what it’s called), which we both love! The food portions were fair for the price, and the service was good.
Been here 3 times now. Once for lunch; twice take out for dinner. Food is always fresh and delicious. Staff is very nice. Love this place and I'm glad it's close to home.
Our favorite Thai place! The drunken noodles with chicken is our favorite!! I love adding extra veggies like mushroom and broccoli and it’s absolutely delicious! 😋
Very nice place. Our first time here was impressive. Their food portions are very large. One is enough for 1 person. Family of 2 and a half adult, we were hungry and ordered 4 meals. Could not finish. Box to take home. The Eggplant in green curry was phenomenal.
Ordered eggplant lunch with tofu and I love it! The eggplant and the tofu is crunchy on the outside be soft on the inside! The service is kind and fast, the interior environment is spacious and clean, and parking is easy! Would definitely come back next time!
The place is nice and clean, the staff friendly, and the food served steaming hot and delicious. The spicy scale is a little on the mild side but you can request pepper flakes to kick it up a notch.
I ordered lunch from the Google Maps App today and then came to pickup two take-out plates for lunch. Both dishes taste good but every restaurant has dishes with unique tastes. The Pad Thai dish was on the sweeter side. The Larb dish was on the sour side.
Trying this place for the first time and I absolutely love it. The yellow chicken curry is so good. The portions are really big and the prices are good. The food is very flavorful. I would definitely come back again. Also I like that you can order online and pickup in store. If you haven’t already, try this place out!!
Absolutely amazing! First time at this restaurant. Ordered takeout. Drunken noodles with chicken and fried shrimp. Large portions and fresh. Hot. Shrimp is crispy. Everything is delicious. Probably best Thai food I have ever had! Wonderful dinner.
Stopped here on the ride home. The service was very fast even though several tables were busy. We sat on the patio, all the staff wore high filtration masks, which seems like an expected thing, but we actually left a restaurant previous to walking in here because the chefs were not wearing masks. So it was just nice that they took it seriously. The food came super fast and was awesome. The staff was also very nice. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE BOBA SMOOTHIE! I got the coconut (with double boba) and oh my goodness it was amazing. It was giant. 10/10. I don’t go through the valley much but I would definitely stop here again next time I make the drive.
Omg! That drink noodles are on point. Delicious, big portions and the spice level how I like it 🔥. Thai spicy
Food was excellent, service was great, great place for good food and company and friends gathering to dine in.

The food was amazing, spicy means spicy here and I love that. I had the fried tofu, the egg rolls and garlic and pepper broccoli, it was all delicious! The tofu was crispy and cut nicely, the sauce on the side was wonderful and fresh tasting, the egg rolls were very good and perfectly cooked , and the flavor of the vegetables in my dish were so fresh and not over cooked or saturated. It was very good I highly recommend
Very good value and plenty of seafood on the seafood drunken noodles that I've ordered although a bit to mild for a 2 spicy level that I've asked for but otherwise plenty good in taste 😜 and the price is more than fair. I've to take home half of it 👍 It was an early dinner after 4 PM.

Pad Thai is too sweet, I do not like it. I just do not want to be mean so I give 4 star. Pad Thai is 0 star in taste. Please improve!
I was in the mood for Thai and this restaurant popped up so I popped in. I enjoyed the green papaya salad and tom kha chicken, which were delicious. I also ordered green tea... if you like the Lipton tea bag in a pot approach, this is how it comes. I prefer more traditional tea in the pot personally. I recommend coming to enjoy delicious Thai fare!
Was in the Rancho Cordova area. Was looking to eat Thai food & this place on recommendation from another family member. The atmosphere was very nice & clean. The food portions were good. The food was good, the spiciness level was good. Most of the food were on the sweat side. I’m not a big fan of sweet cuisine so hence only 4 stars. The best dishes: duck fried rice, red curry
I've been here 3 times now, and the food has been excellent each time. The service is great - polite, gracious and very helpful. I am so glad they opened so close to me! Follow up to previous review - I finally experienced what some of the complaints have been about - staff that seem disinterested in the customers. I went in at about 1:30 pm on a weekday, after the lunch rush presumably. I was not greeted as I had been before, the young lady at the counter took several minutes to acknowledge me though I was the only customer there. I felt like I was more of a bother than a welcome customer. The entire time I was there eating, and even to pay my bill, I was left to wait, while 3 of the staff sat at a back table chatting. The food was still good, but that day the service was mediocre at best - disappointing because I have really liked this place. I have to reduce the rating to 4.
That thai hot is spicy. Asian spicy varies from places and it was more spicy than I like which prevented me from enjoying my food as much. Going to try at a later time with their mild and that should make it better. My fualt not theirs. Keep up the good food.
Quick service with friendly people. Stopped by to pick up quick meal to go. The staff was friendly and courteous. I got the green curry with chicken and it was excellent. It had just the right amount of heat as to enjoy the dish but still taste the wonderful flavor of the curry.

Owners are very kind and food tastes delicious. My one gripe is the meat to noodle ratio. The dishes are not very expensive but I'd rather have a bit less noodle portion to be more proportional to the meat. Other than that the dishes we've tried we've enjoyed!

I went today for lunch the food was good I ordered chicken drunken noodles and bbq chicken...I loved the steamed veggies the most...the staff was super friendly...my baby spilled a glass of water and staff was so friendly unlike others they made us very comfortable as I was very embarrassed the staff definitely is 10/10
First time eating here. I ordered drunken noodles and chicken satay. The chicken satay was good (a 3.5 out of 5) but not like any satay I've had at the various Thai restaurants I've been too. It actually reminded me of foil wrapped chicken in terms of flavor. But the peanut sauce for dipping was excellent! The drunken noodles... that's my fave Thai dish and I am a bit of a drunken noodles connoisseur and their drunken noodles are lacking big time. I would be generous to rate them a 2. 😔 I have been to this restaurant many times as an Uber driver and the service is always good, friendly and they are fast. Food comes out hot and in a timely manner. Overall, I probably won't be back because I can't get my fave dish.
This is a restaurant with flavorful food and friendly people. I ordered my favourite red curry and it was delicious. The portion, however, was too less. But never mind, the host is happy to give extra rice if you ask for so that you don't waste the food up front.
The staff was friendly and the orange chicken was great!! I gave 3 stars because I accidentally ordered the wrong item. When I told them I didnt want it, if they could please take it back... you could see the irritation in his face. ... all of a sudden the staff did a 180 and the atmosphere changed... cold shoulders and all. .... don't worry though, I still paid you guys a 12$ tip
Positives: friendly, fast service and reasonable priced lunch menu with big portions, quality meat used. Critiques: was not asked Spice level preference has absolutely no heat. Everything was very saucey, almost more of a Lao influence. Ordered: Thai tea, lunch special pork pad thai, lunch special eggplant basil with beef.
Got the mango crispy chicken. It was soaked and not crispy. The flavor was really similar to Panda Express I was very disappointed. Nice restaurant and quick service.

Pad Se Ew tasted like nothing but molasses. Pad Thai is bland. Quick and convenient, but there's much better Thai food a block north at Sala Thai
Apparently they have two online menus that don't match up. I received a different item than ordered. Staff was apologetic about it and made the correct order for me. Took it back to work and took two bites just to make sure what I was tasting was what Ii thought it was. It was very salty and the flat noodles weren't really flat almost pasta like. The dish was basically disgusting. Given how I got the wrong order, it just wasn't worth it. This has got to be the worse Thai restaurant ever.
Planned to dine at a different restaurant during lunch but we passed Cha Thai and decided to do Thai. We ordered several dishes. We got the Padthai, seafood egg plants, seafood dish and the calamari. I’m not too impressed with the food. These are the dishes I normally order at a Thai restaurant so I know how they’re supposed to taste. I was trying very hard to like it but the flavor wasn’t to my liking. The portion was ok but I was a bit disappointed in the calamari. For $12.99 there was literally 7 small little pieces. The customer service was great, food came out fast though. Ehh, I might give them another chance and do a lunch special next time.
This place is like the junk food of Thai food. The curry rice had SO much food coloring that everything it touched glowed fluorescent yellow-green. Everything else was just a quantity over quality affair. Plus, the place reeked of household cleaner.

The pad thai was %95 noodle and the sauce was a orange food coloring looking shade with only a sweetness to it, no flavor. I was bummed because my friend recommended the places pad thai. I did order pra ram that was better but was about %50 the portion size of the pad thai so I felt slightly let down. The chicken egg rolls were dry. Probably won't be back. I like Thai Hut's food better.

Went in around 7:30 on a Saturday and they close at 9 pm. Ordered my food, fried rice as one dish and was told they didn't have any fried rice so they gave me steamed rice instead. The Green Curry Dish lacks flavor and that real thai touch although the Thai Boat Noodle Soup was pretty good. My friend arrived a few minutes after our food arrived and was told that they had no beef for his boat noodle soup. Service sucks, we were not asked if we'd like to order any more food or drinks after our initial order nor were we asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. THIS PLACE BLOWS CHUNKS!
Definitely underwhelmed by this place. I had the Cashew Nut wok, ordered Thai hot. It tasted more like mild; there was no heat to it whatsoever. The pineapple in that dish tasted fermented. I ordered hot tea to drink. I had to ask for it twice more after the food was delivered before getting it. Both my partner and I had to ask for utensils, her a fork and chopsticks for me. I never did get a napkin to go with it. The men's room was out of both paper towels and toilet paper, so I told our server. No one went back to correct this before we left. There was no hot water in the men's room, either. They have an Instant-Flow point of use water heater installed, but it doesn't work, so cold water only. When presented with the bill, our server asked if I wanted a copy of the receipt and I told him yes. He didn't bring one after running my card until I asked for it. My partner asked for a to-go box for part of her meal. She had to ask twice more before getting it. Would not recommend.
If you want diabetes with your Thai food then come here. Everything was so sweet. Not comming back here.
Don't expect to eat lunch here in a timely manner. My wife my son and myself had come here around noon during my wife's lunch break which is an hour. We were greeted immediately which was nice and then our order was taken within 5 minutes of us being there. And then 20 minutes goes by I asked them to go check on the food and they brought it five minutes later which is already probably half of my wife's lunch. They bring out the appetizer with the main course at the same time when they should have brought it before. After getting my dish which was the basil beef it was cold when it should have been hot. I asked the staff if they knew how long the dish was sitting back there as it should have been hot. They gave me attitude and was very Unapologetic and just said I'll take it off the bill if you want. Customer service is vital when it comes to running an establishment and I will not be returning to this establishment. And to know I was not the only one in that restaurant that had inquired about their food there was another couple that said that they were on their lunch and were in a rush to get a quick bite to eat and they were very Unapologetic to them was very disappointing.
Curry was good, but the chicken in it was dry and chalky. The lady only brought our food but other then that she never checked on us the whole time! Twice, we had to get up when we needed something! The worst part about the lady not checking on us was that there was only one other couple in the whole restaurant! The Thai bbq ribs I ordered looked like a goat or sheep rib, it definitely wasn't a pork rib like they said.
So disappointed. I’ve eaten here several times. Food has been pretty good. Tonight’s meal must have come out of the dumpster in the back. Chicken satay was grey. See photo. Curry chicken: no chicken, all onions. Dry tasteless mango rice.. Soup was watery, awful. No more.
I ordered the Thai Chow Mein, which was basically thawed out frozen (and soggy) vegetables mixed with watery (and soggy) ramen noodles. Zero flavor. Just nasty. Hard no for me.
