I rave, I rave, I rave .You can eat well. Fresh, local organic and beautiful vegetables and fruits, including fiddleheads in Spring, all kinds of teas, vegetarian recipe items, fresh meats, sauces, cheese. Fresh local organic chocolate milk in glass bottles. The many meal options span lovely servings of salads, sandwiches and more. Also; local Silloway maple syrup products, blown glass, soap and other gift items. Upstairs is a lovely seating area for 25~ people. Some seating outside, too. This building is a gorgeous renovation of the old railroad station, worth a visit alone. Right next to Amtrak station. Free on-street parking everywhere.
Excellent brunch! Best breakfast sandwiches around. Love the pre-made meals in the fridge and local options. Highly recommend!
I was staying just out of town for a few days and made this place a priority to try. I bought a few groceries when I first arrived in town, including extremely fresh produce. A few days later I made it in for lunch. There was a 20 minute wait for my sandwich, but it was worth it (and they warned me with a fairly accurate guess of how long it would take when I was ordering). I think it may have been one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I was also able to try a breakfast sandwich and french toast, all amazing. The people were nice and friendly every time I came in, the service was great. Highly recommend coming here if you are in the area, I wish it was closer to where I live!
Unfortunately I am usually working the hours that they’re open when I am in town. Did have some carry out from them last week which was pretty good. The Raw veggie wrap was surprisingly good for a veggie wrap. The Asian noodle salad it was quite good as well. Well flavored.
Chef’s Market is a must-visit in Randolph, VT. The food is exquisite, beautifully presented, and generously portioned. The staff are warm and welcoming, making every visit a delight. It’s the perfect spot for a leisurely brunch or a cozy work session with a delicious meal. Highly recommend! This place is an absolute gem.
Stopped by for lunch on a roadtrip, was pleasantly surprised by how delicious lunch was! Both the French dip sandwich and open face veggie sandwich were excellent, and very worth the price. The staff here were also extremely friendly!
Wonderful food, products and great staff.
delicious food and great service!
Great food and a great staff!
Beautiful place to visit.
The food is excellent!
Pretty darn good
Amazing place
Grilled cheese to die for!!!
Amazing selection for such a small space! Many local and fresh produce, dairy and meat choices. The deli has the best lunch menu around. Super friendly and super helpful staff.
Consistently great food – and tasty vegetarian options. Love the added shop inside which complements any grocery store run for those hard-to-find items. Highly recommend for a drip coffee, sandwich or to-go plate (red lentil curry with Israeli couscous was delish!).
The CREME DE LA CREME of FOOD! "The BEST of the BEST!" Chef's Market has the finest, tastiest food in all of VT! Gorgeous atmosphere, clean environment, friendly staff. Very decent prices for such high quality *Delicious* food...Thank you, Chef's Market! A real blessing in Randolph, the "heart of VT."
Wow, what delicious sandwiches!! Try the Vermont Gobbler Grill or the Veggie Sandwich. We stopped here for lunch while we were passing through and I’m so glad we did. A true gem of a place! I will certainly be returning again in the future.
This place was delightful. Fantastic sandwiches. Probably will go back the next time I'm driving down the 89.
Comfortable seating and great food. Great stop from Amtrak's many destinations
Lunch stop with my son, so glad we found this place! Excellent eat in options, and nice place to sit and eat separate from the store. Lovely staff. Thank you.
This was a cute shop! Besides healthy and organic food (from homemade breads to pasta to fresh vegetables to milk to sweets), sandwiches can be made to order.
Freshly prepared food with a smile. Good salads and sandwiches. Attentive service. We ate outside and were served on real china and silverware, a good environmental choice!
I eat there a few year ago food and service was great Arthur Kinney
Great place for groceries and lunch! Excellent selection of gluten-free items.
The food and atmosphere are great! Friendly staff. Today was my first time eating here and I’ll definitely be back!
Great service and great food! If you're ever in the Randolph area this place is a must!
Great lunch offerings and surprising variety of healthier or organic grocery offerings. Friendly. Good atmosphere.
This place always makes us happy, Full bellys and good food for home cooking. Randolph is lucky to have them.
Delicious Reubens,Eggs Benedict and Romanoff...very friendly service...great variety.....maybe crisp potatoes a bit more!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great fresh food. Great for vegetarians. Loved their open veggie sandwich, portabella sandwich and sesame salad
The staff was so accommodating and helpful with my food allergies. The food was amazing!
Chef's Market is a wonderful local market staffed with friendly people and packed full of fabulous food. Don't miss this gem in Randolph!
Much more than a health food store. This is the place to get breakfast! Dog friendly patio. Delicious!!
Wonderful variety of fresh and organic & gluten free foods, the help is friendly, anxious to help and order things you ask for if they don’t have it on hand.
Wonderful food. Cozy atmosphere. Everything you need in a small market and deli.
Yummy lunch with options to eat in, eat outside, or take-away. Very much appreciated the commitment to COVID safety.
A hidden gem! This is by far one of the best places I have visited (multiple times) 🙂
Friendly, people, excellent service, pleasant, airy seating in a beautiful, historic building...and the food is delicious!
All the higher end essentials, great prepared food and friendly service in a lovely setting.
Great local food, quality lunch and great people working the counter
Good food and great service.
Great food, great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Amazing food and staff. ❤️
This place is awesome. It's located in the historic train depot building and the food is so good! We recommend their gourmet grilled cheese and the tomato cheddar dill soup. I usually roll my eyes when my kids order grilled cheese at a restaurant but their version is not something you could easily make at home. Also a great place to pick up supplies for a picnic. They have a variety of dining spaces, one on the front lawn and one in the lofted area in the rafter of the train depot. Not to be missed!
Had the market BLT. Wow! Best BLT I've ever had, period. Chef's Market is a top notch place. Great ambience. Great oft upstairs to sit and eat, nice outdoor seating. Food rocks! I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
I love Chef's Market! Location is perfect, right in the Middle of town! Organic, gluten free items, and I don't have to travel far. Dining in and take out options are available. You won't be disappointed when you order food, it's always delicious! Breakfast/brunch/lunch. The staff is friendly, responsive, and always willing to assist. Tammy and Scott make each visit personable, my kids can't wait for their "fruit leather Friday" visits each week!
Stopped into this gem by chance after dropping a friend at the train station. The actual BEST egg sandwich Ive ever had in my life, I will think about it forever. Came with delicious potatoes and a lovely green salad topped with mandarin slices. The service was impeccable. The location was quaint and so "Vermont". Highly recommend!
A great place for breakfast or lunch. Yummy local food and friendly folks.
One of Central Vermont’s hidden gems. Very good lunch and brunch (the eggs Romanov are insane), and a great selection of hard-to-find produce and ingredients. The team are amazingly friendly and welcoming, and also knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. They’ll also bend over backwards to help you find something specific.
One of my favorite little places in the Upper Valley! Great food and a lovely atmosphere!
Stopped in for lunch and found the meals delicious and affordable. It's also a really cool space inside and we ate upstairs. Pretty much an ideal market imo in that it had things that I wanted, the people were nice, the tunes were decent, and the space was welcoming.
The best Reuben sandwich within 200 miles, and a great choice of high quality produce, foods, and beverages. On the expensive side, but quality does have a cost.
Really great food. The small salad and chip serving are no longer part of the meal. I am not sure if this is reflected in the price. It has always received a most excellent from us but this was downgraded because of that.
This is another Randolph, VT hidden gem! The food is utterly delicious, the Staff very kind and helpful with joy. The healthy grocery section is awesome. The owners: Scott, is very tall and thin and Tammy is very pretty. I love them.
My favorite lunch spot in Randolph. Everyone is friendly, food is very good, good selection. You can eat inside or out.
An amazing store that has so many great foods to buy! It also has some food options and I got the salmon and egg sandwich! It was positively delicious! I would highly recommend this place!!
Hermoso Mercado!
¡Me encanta!
An absolutely beautiful converted train station, that doubles has a small locally sourced grocery store, and a small deli restaurant. If you were vegetarian they have good salads. If you're looking for gluten-free dairy-free or stuff that nature they can do that for you but don't have many substitutes just exclude that part for you. Our food was very good and the staff was very very friendly :)
Nice place in a nice town. Clean, organized and looked somewhat exciting to walk into. The Eggs Benedict was very good and the young ladies working did a great job. Being a good example of customer service will good a long ways in developing an even better team.
Came across this cute little market with plently to offer! Almost every thing was either home grown or organically made, from of course fresh maple syrup to a wide variety of different snacks! It is refreshing to get to pick from local choices! I went with the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, which was priced very generously for what it came with too! Fairly quick service and they have an organized system for Covid-19! Overall, if you happen to drive by, it is worth a stop if you are looking for a yummy meal for a decent price!
Good selection and I heard food was scrumptious
They make a good turkey sandwich
I really liked this market. Fresh organic fruits and veggies. Organic wine, hard cider and locally crafted beers. A good deli for sandwiches. cheeses, local breads. It is a little way out of town, past the Shaws Supermarket and the entrance is strange in that you need to use the Central Supplies driveway to access Chef's Market's parking lot. (Central Supplies seems to have a lot of landscaping supplies.)
We stopped here on our way back to CT. the made to order sandwiches were great! There was a nice picnic area in the front that we couldn’t use unfortunately (dogs and kid in the car) but it looked lovely. Two bathrooms in the back and a variety of healthy foods in the grocery part. It’s pricy but worth a stop.
Lovely balcony seating area indoors with air conditioning and picnic tables to eat at outside when weather is nice. They offer high quality local breads at severely discounted rates ($2) when at expiration. Made to order beet salad is tasty with lots of spinach. Store hours are not the same as the made to order breakfast/lunch hours. Lots of organic and natural products similar to a co-op food store. Some items in store are very pricey - like fresh bing cherries at $7.99/pound. Community bulletin board available with many local events and opportunities.
The food and staff here are great. However, on our last visit June 2025 we were disappointed to discover that you now get a pager to let you know that your food is ready. So if you come to dine in the upstairs loft, you are now responsible for not only coming back down to get your food, but to also carry it up the stairs. They used to bring it upstairs to you. I am sure this works just fine if you are of good balance and comfortable lugging things upstairs. But for this reason, we will most likely not have this as our first choice for eating when we go out to lunch now.
I have a severe gluten allergy. There were refrigerated and pre-packaged foods here that I was able to eat. I'm not sure what their ability is to accommodate a severe gluten allergy in their prep space (it's a small kitchen with lots of shared spaces) - but would love to hear from them so I could feel comfortable eating here next time I'm in town!
Chef's Market has been a meet-in-the-middle go-to lunch favorite for a dear friend and I for a long time. Great food, decent prices, beautifully presented, and a welcoming atmosphere. We last had lunch here in February before I moved out of state in March. I am visiting VT this week and, as always, we decided to meet for lunch at Chef's Market and did so today. The first thing we discovered was that omelets are off the menu. Okay, I understand that menus change. The 2nd thing was receiving a pager to notify us that our food was ready and having to go downstairs to get it instead of it being delivered to the table by one of the super friendly staff. Again, okay, maybe they are understaffed and it didn't kill us to go get it. But the 3rd thing was the deal breaker. Instead of the food coming prettily plated with small sides of fresh fruit and/or a pile of dressed greens, it was plopped into a round aluminum to-go container with a plastic lid. No nice presentation, no little sides, nothing. Maybe new ownership? Maybe cost-cutting measures? Our food was okay, but the things that made Chef's Market charming and just that little bit different and special are gone. We joked afterwards that my move is a good reason not to return. I'm sorry to say that the next time I'm back in VT we'll start a new tradition elsewhere.
They don’t answer there phone ever
Poor customer service, overpriced, etc..
Went there today to meet 4 friends for outside dining. Paid for my 15$ lunch and set outside in cold rainy weather but it was all worth it to see my friends again! Went back inside after being chilled to get a nice hot coffee and nooo after making my coffee and feeling the warmth in my cold hands the cashier said it was a 10$ minimum to use my debit card again. So needless to say I had to set the coffee on the counter and walk away. I did look for something else to buy to equal 10 but seeing that I was just a patron who set outside eating lunch at this establishment for 2 hours it was just as well to walk away. SMH
I called to place a Togo order. Only to be told they don't do a certain items Togo. If you look at the menu it seems that way with allot of those choices. I have been in the restaurant industry for 15 years and I have never worked for a business or told a costumer we don't do an item Togo. I have scooped pre made crème brulee out of a molten container and into a Togo box. In my experience there is nothing and I mean nothing you can not do Togo. So either its incompetence or laziness. Either way your putting to consumer last. Will be spending my money elsewhere.
My youngest child and I were attacked by a man and woman for wearing a Trump hat and when we spoke to the owner and asked for our lunch to go she told us to take the hat off . Freedom of choice is something that my family strongly believes is what makes America a great country. Don't support people who are against democracy and political choices.
Horrible experience with entitled staff. The owner is clearly self centric and confrontational. Lack of personality shines thru out the team, lack of patience and kindness. Lack of communication. Was to eat in the restaurant, it is self seated- we found no seats. Asked for to go almost immediately upon recognizing there were no seats and mocked for change of mind on dining since no seating was available. Brought this detail up to the owner only to be told that because they didn’t communicate where they were in process of making our food that we should have known they were accommodating us with a table. All news to us. Guess we’re mind readers! Never ever again and I will make it known to all. Shame since the food is made of seemingly quality ingredients.
