Finally, a restaurant where you eat WELL—in fact, very well—and where you don't break the bank. It's become commonplace to go to restaurants where, if you're lucky, the food is decent, and the only high-end aspect is the bill. Wines are tripled, there are no tablecloths, the space is cramped, the service is so sterile that it feels like a nuisance, and the dishes are almost as characterless as canteen fare. Well, at Agriturismo della Madonna, that's not the case: all the dishes are beautifully plated and of a high standard. Table settings include brightly colored tumblers and flowers, the wines, excellent wines included in the price, and the seasonal cuisine is tastefully prepared and beautifully presented. There is, however, a downside. Waiting times for reservations are biblical. But it's well known that where the food is good, people go willingly. Description of the courses: entrée with warm and crispy walnut focaccia, followed by seven appetizers, each one better than the last, two first courses, two second courses with vegetables, and three desserts. Petit patisserie with coffee and limoncello. I forgot, the lollipop-shaped sorbet. All for 35 euros! (It was actually 38, but we didn't order the main courses.)

Excellent, exceptional, fabulous...Use your favorite superlative and it will be the right one, no ifs, ands, or buts. The friendly and attentive service, the top-quality ingredients, and the meticulous presentation make the meal enjoyable and memorable. Piedmontese cuisine, the menu is fixed: indicate any allergies or intolerances and enjoy what you're served (while you can, and if you can, come back for longer: it's a must!) The price is beyond comment, given the above. Reservations required

I'd been to this venue before for a wedding reception years ago... they've gotten even better! Top-notch Piedmontese cuisine, with each season offering its own menu (and rightly so) with its own ingredients. I'm a big eater, but the food was so generous that I struggled to eat it all! The only problem? Arm yourself with patience; if you book today, you might be able to book in two years, and you'll easily understand why... excellent value!
