If the lady is screaming on the phone and at the cooks in the back, your take out order is placed in a liquor box from the shop next door and not in a bag, the receipts are indecipherable - you know the food it going to be FIRE!!! amazing spot - like no other!!!

Hands down our favorite Chinese place. Huge portions, everything is always incredibly fresh and high quality ingredients. You have to get the Mama's dumplings in peanut sauce and the Bamboo Chicken dish is outstanding. Owner Sherry is always so kind and welcoming. Her house hot sauce is incredible too.

I heard Mamas dumplings were amazing and they did not disappoint. We asked for the peanut sauce and I’m pretty sure I dreamed about how delicious they were. Also had pork fried rice that was awesome. Glad we found it, definitely my new top Chinese food spot!

Highly recommend this local gem! Food is excellent, definitely the best take-out Chinese food in the area by far. Unlike other options, it is very flavorful without being loaded with salt. Pork fried rice especially stood out, delicious! Everything made from scratch, so they are very confident in the ingredients if you have any allergies/dietary restrictions just ask. Order was ready right on time, very neatly and conscientiously packaged. Everything was nice and hot even after the drive home. Owner is very nice and customers get VIP treatment. Street parking right in front, but on a busy Friday night I had no problem briefly parking in the bank lot just next door. Looking forward to returning and trying more things from the menu!

The best Chinese food I’ve had in the area. It was my time trying it after living here for over 20Y and only sad that I didn’t come here earlier. Chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce and the angel hair noodle dish were legendary. Sherry was the best too! So kind and hospitable :)

Great Chinese spot! My family and I would go often a few years back. You can sit inside, but there is only about one table. Mainly a take out spot and the food is absolutely delicious. The dumplings are some of the best and freshest you will get. I actually found out about this place via a review when I wanted a ginger chicken soup when I was sick. Highly recommend.

I was looking online for a Chinese food place with great reviews when I first heard of Bamboo House. It’s only been a few times that I’ve been able to stop in since I don’t live close, but whenever I’m in Ridgewood, I like to get something to eat here. It’s tough to find a truly great Chinese restaurant & this place lives up to the hype. The portions are generous, the dishes are saucy & flavorful & fresh. What really seals the deal for me though is the service; they are kind & friendly in a warm, sincere way. Bamboo House has been in business for a long time, for good reason. 10/10

Bamboo House is a great place to get tasty food with huge quantities that will last you at least a couple of meals. And Sherry is what you'd expect of someone who runs a Ridgewood institution. During the height of the pandemic, she was handing out masks to her customers that her relatives had shipped over to her at a time when most of us couldn't get masks regularly. She's also been very helpful in figuring out dishes for my daughter who has several food allergies. I highly recommend their Hot and Sour soup, their egg rolls and shrimp rolls, Mom's dumplings, the pork with eggplant, and the shredded pork, but most of all I recommend that you ask what their specials are for the day. I've been pleasantly surprised by many of the specials, and it is how I got to taste Sherry's Crispy Curry Dumplings which are simply amazing and should become a part of the regular menu.

Celebrating 33 years serving the community with the best food made from the heart. Sherry and Aldo always deliver the BEST tasting food. Everything on the menu is great!! There isn’t anything that I haven’t liked/loved!!! AND their servings are so generous, most times I have a meal for two days. Moms dumplings, anglehair noodles, spring rolls and Lo Mein are just a few of my favorites but try anything and I guarantee you’ll love it. There’s a reason they’ve been in business for 33 years!!!! GREAT FOOD!!!!!

Wonton soup is good and crunchy noodles are excellent. I ordered egg foo young. I have a peanut allergy. The sauce smelled like it might contain peanut (which is not typical of egg foo young gravy). We called the restaurant to confirm and were told, "yes it has peanut you have to ask us for no peanut." When the menu makes no mention of peanut in the sauce and it's not typical for this sauce to have peanut it's pretty outrageous to expect customers to know to ask for it peanut free. My meal was ruined and my disappointment is immeasurable :(

The mapo tofu was BLAND. When I called the restaurant they said “that’s how we cook our food”. Like for real. The owners are rude as hell. Honestly stay away.
