This restaurant is simply the best... Me and my wife ate here I had the boneless spare rib combo and my wife had the roast pork egg fu young combo it was delicious... This has to be the best Chinese food I've tasted so far I will be back again

My hubby and I have been going to Mr. Chen every Friday for about 12 years now. They know our kid and we know theirs. We talk about life and they're like family to us. The food is top notch. They have a lot of variety, even offering Thai dishes and Hong Kong style soup. The portions are huge. Everything we've tried is always very flavorful and always fresh.

The best in town! Don’t understand how this place is not yet a five star. Everything is good from Sesame chicken, young chow fried rice, Chow fun, Singapore Mei fun, shrimp and broccoli, etc. What I like best is that you can see them cooking the food right there, not behind doors. Chinese food has gotten up but you can eat twice from it. They never made mistakes on my orders and they don’t expect a tip when you pick up.

Love this place, many years customer here. The food is yummy, I loved every dish I’ve had there. My favorites are the egg foo yung, Singapore mei fun and fried fish, oh and the scallion pancakes and the vegetable lo mein. Ok I could go on forever. Came here bc I was at show around the corner and needed something to eat. The Chicken wings were bigger than most places are these days, everyone place seems to have smaller wings after all the inflation lately. Which made up all the onions they put in the rice. The food was ready very quickly. And they had problem giving me extra soy and hot sauce. And there was seating.

It was my first time ordering here, but it was recommended to me, so I decided to try it. The food was fresh, tasty and exactly how I can recall NY Chinese Food taste. The well fried dumplings were perfection just how I like them. The shrimp lo mein was also so-y-delicous. What I loved the most that I had leftovers for lunch, therefore, you get more food for your money. Thank you Mr. Chen, the recommendation became an awesome review. As to the service, I received 3 phone calls, and an email from someone there, letting me know that what I had originally order (Lobster LoMein) they no longer served it. Which was super nice of them to reach me and let me know, but also provided other options--I went for the shrimp lomein. Thank you for the great service. When I am back this way, I will def try you guys again.

This is one of the best in the area (if not the best). I used to order from "Happy Garden" on Wyckoff Ave before they closed down. Now, every time I'm in the mood for Tso chicken Mr. Chen's the place I call.

I was pleasantly surprised with the luncheon specials we got here. The food was very good, we got chicken with cashews nuts and Generals Tso chicken.

I eat a lot of chinese food, decided to try out this restaurant for the first time. Food was good but I dont know what they cook with but I broke out in hives 10 mins after eating.

This place is a hit or miss. General tsos chicken is just chicken scraps that are breaded and fried. Replacement comes with even less food than originally ordered. Just oredered chicken egg foo yound. I poured out an 1/8 of a cup of oil out of both of them. Rice they were on top of was so oily it was unberable to even look at! The bottom of the container had oil floating allover maybe another 2 tableapoons. Replacement came quick as 4 small pieces of chicken 🐓 with 16 pices of broccoli 🥦 and a fricking 1/4 cup of rice! I had to return that as well as all the withe rice looked like blood sausage it was totally soaked in in the sauce. Food looks good but tastes just bad 50% of the time.. And the time wasted exchanging it for another batch it just takes too long! Majority of chinese food take outs do take advantage of that hipster invasion on ridgewood as a sign to sell subquality food. I had to dispose of takeout menu and will be ordering from another joint from now on. Eat well fellow foodies 🥘

This is the first restaurant I have ever written a bad review despite several instances of low quality food in the past, and for very good reason. This restaurant not only delivers poor quality food, but they lie to the customer and grubhub representatives. I ordered a "Beef Chow Mein" combination platter. What I recieved was not only an oily mess, but it contained NO NOODLES. But, everyone makes mistakes; and as such I allowed Grubhub to contact the restaurant to make things right with me. The restaurant proceeded to claim that Chow Mein does not contain noodles and that the dish I was thinking of went by a different name; Lo Mein. In case you're unaware, "Mein" translates into the word "Noodle". Grubhub said that their hands were tied and that they wouldnt help me further. On top of that, the order of Sesame Tofu I ordered was soggy, flavorless, and generally unappetizing. Vegan people seeking tofu dishes beware. T he one redeeming factor of the order was the broccoli with garlic sauce, which was decent at best. I highly suggest eating at nearly any other Chinese restaurant in the area, even if they happen to have less stars.

They talk down to the customer as if it is my fault they can’t read. Constantly missing items. This place is the worst, i got wrong order, i called them back to explain them. Totally nasty attitude from the manager or owner,, they want to send the order missing and charge for it. The customer service at this restaurant is horrible, and so was the delivery. The delivery person did not want to deliver the food to my apartment but instead wanted me to come downstairs with my new born child. If I wanted Uber eats I would have ordered from there. When I called the restaurant to get the status of my order the lady hung up in my face, when I called back she said she has someone on the other line and hung up on me again!. She claimed she couldn’t find my order and was very short with me and disrespectful. Never ordering from here again. Also the food isn’t great, the wings are soggy and the shrimp egg roll only had one little piece of shrimp in it.

terrible experience lately . i have a been ordering from here for 6 years. for the past 2 months there is always a problem with the food. ranging from not sending the sodas that are to suppose to come with the food. and if they do send the sodas its the wrong ones. for 6 years i have ordered rice with my food but today the girl wants to tell me i didnt ask for rice. and on top of the bad service they raise there prices. and thats only cuz of all the hipsters moving in. they have lost a loyal customer today. i will be finding a new place.

I ordered $30 in food. I gave the delivery driver a $50 bill he tried to take all the change as his tip. What's $20 I have no problem tipping people a fair amount. But when the food comes late and it's cold and you have to call the restaurant twice you shouldn't expect a tip let alone demand it. I got mad and told him to take the food back he said no. I can't believe he flipped out and started cursing at me like that I'm going to post a video from my doorbell camera.

They are not fresh. This place is not. Ordered a Mongolian Beef and it was 90% onions and very little beef. I just wonder if these people think we are that stupid that we will not notice how they are cheating us out of the main attraction of the dish, The Beef Itself. Also They have smaller plastic plates, which have very little space and served up with just a little bit of rice. Rice is not that expensive for them to be so damn cheap with it. Come on People, we can't continue overpaying and Quality and Quantity Shrinking, something has to give and Now I Give up. They also serve a yellow fried rice instead of the traditional Dark Brown Rice that has Soy Sauce and Dark Soy Sauce for added flavor. Mr Chen is not what it used to be. Sorry to say it but its Quality and Quantity is Coming down fast.

They mess up your order and don’t fix it nor do they care. I ordered two DIET Snapples and got two regulars. I called and explained I’m diabetic and can’t drink this. They said they were not going to come back and deliver the correct drinks because I'm “too far” although I’ve ordered from them for years and this is the first time they claim I’m too far even though when I ordered from them the very first time ever, I asked if they deliver here and they said yes and have been for years. I explained that I live in a basement with no kitchen (that’s why I order food) and have nothing to drink with my food. They didn’t care just the same. If my health takes a turn for the worse, I’m holding them responsible! It’s not what I ordered. You made a mistake but at least fix it. Loyalty means nothing from these people and they do bad business practices.

Wings are not refreshed. He literally told me they refry them. My order was not fresh the wings were black inside and the you can tell they were refried multiple times. The plantains super dry and refried as well. They have a terrible attitude. I called to ask them to send me a new order. He told me they don’t have anymore wings and that they’re fresh after he told me they refried them. Not sure of the logic here, but they need to change the oil or throw away the wings they fried the day prior. Definitely don’t recommend.
