Los Compadres Roanoke Reviews
I enjoyed the Sunset Margarita! The food was very good. The service was excellent. It is a VERY nice looking restaurant. Nice place to meet friends, family, or business partners.
The food is always excellent fresh ingredients and hot! The cuisine is a little more traditional Tex-mex. The tea is very good as well as their margaritas. They serve a wide variety of excellent adult beverages. Their service is always excellent. They are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The atmosphere is upbeat and modern. We tend to sit at the bar more than not. They have a nice outdoor patio that faces the north so no sun beating down on you and heaters for cooler days as well as the ability to close it off for bad weather. Rosie and Mike are the best bartenders that you will find anywhere. My wife and I have been eating there Tuesday or Wednesday nights for 2 plus years.
This place is an absolute gem. The food is phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care—but what really takes the experience over the top is the bar service. Rosie and Mike are next-level bartenders. Friendly, attentive, and insanely good at what they do. Every drink was perfectly balanced, creative, and made with confidence, and they somehow manage to make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Rosie brings amazing energy and warmth, while Mike is a true pro who knows his craft inside and out. Together, they set the vibe for the entire restaurant. Add in great atmosphere, fast service, and consistently delicious food, and you’ve got a place that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend—especially if you’re sitting at the bar.
Anna was amazing! From the jump she was warm and very inviting, she helped me decide what to eat between my many options that I wanted to try. When asked about a blueberry spicy drink, she was very honest about what to expect for the spice level and it ended up being lovely. We talked the whole time from ordering until the food came. She really cared and it felt like family. The food was amazing, drinks were great and table side guac was authentic. We will be back and we will see you again Anna! It was everything we didn’t know we needed.
Great mexican food with good atmosphere. Easy to get to. Unfortunately not enough parking as it is in a residential area. It is not too big so it gets packed during rush hour. If that is something that doesn't bother you then you should give this place a try. Table side Guacamole is great. Chips are fresh a crispy. Portions are big enough to feel full and take some home for the next day. Staff is great and prices are reasonable. Totally recommended this place.
Visited this place on 01/02/2026 and Alfredo was our waiter. Had the Sangria (which was really good, not too sweet). Chips and salsa were freshly made. Wife and I split a Chimichanga and a bowl of queso. Was all really good and Alfredo was always smiling and took great care of us. We are from out of town but will definitely come back and eat again!
Excellent, affordable, Tex-Mex fare. My husband and I had a late weekday lunch. Service was fast and attentive. Food was hot and delish. Husband had chicken and shrimp fajitas and I had beef and shrimp fajitas. The shrimp is notably good - large, juicy and cooked just right. Destiny was our server. She is a pro with a delightful personality.
We had such a great experience at Los Compadres! Our server, Adolfo, was absolutely amazing—he checked on us often, kept us smiling, and made our visit extra enjoyable. The margaritas were hands down the best we’ve had in the Roanoke/Fort Worth area! The kids’ menu had plenty of great options, which made it perfect for the whole family. And I have to mention the pozole—it was absolutely delicious! We’ll definitely be back.
1st time eating here, walked in @ 12:30 immediately seated in a 90% full dining. Juan took my order with seconds of being seated, walked to the bathroom just to wash my hands and returned to table, sat down took one chip and lunch plate was being served. Exceptional service, food, cleanliness, attention to drink need and ensuring all needs were met. Don't have enough stars to give this dining experience, and tops the best dining out I have had and I'm one that eats out at least 5 times a week. Juan was a GREAT waiter and every employee seemed to be on point doing their assigned task, as soon as a table was left by a customer, cleaning crew immediately were clearing it. Restaurant was busy, spotless, bathrooms clean and stocked. A+++++++++
Very good food and exceptional service! Took my family there last week for dinner and had a great time. Upon arrival we were greeted by Simon and we immediately felt as though our business was appreciated. Simon was engaging and displayed the best attitude I have seen in some time! Our meal was delicious and came out quickly. The server was very attentive and provided great service throughout the meal. Needless to say we are looking forward to our next meal at Los Compadres!!
This was our first time in, we was greated immediately and seated immediately as well. They sat us right by the waiter and waitress station. This was the only thing I didn't like. It was date night and the first one in a long time, and a seat by the window or something would have been better. I asked but was told no. The waiter was nice, funny, and attentive. They do not have sweet tea here! Almost lost a star rating, but my wife got the mint poloma, and she loved it, so we gave the star back. Chips and salsa were delicious with the right amount of kick. My wife got the brisket tacos (she loved them), and I got the spicy queso beef enchiladas, spicy and delicious. The rice was the best we ever had, and the refried beans and charro beans were awesome, too. Friendly staff. Awesome food. We are definitely gonna go back! There is a back to the menu, I didn't take a pic, my bad.
Good food and nice place even after we got our appetizer with no tortillas and one of the service nothing asking if something was wrong. After I told him that we never got our tortillas for the queso he said I’ll be right back and a manager came up and took care of the problem with our us asking. Gave us a new appetizer with tortillas so it would be hot. Didn’t expect this but great job on taking care of the customers. Will be back
We ventured to Los Compadres as part of our Roanoke Christmas parade, and we were so glad we did! The service was friendly and attentive, and you could tell that they all work as a team. We noticed the hostess helping bus tables, and every single employee had a welcoming smile on their face. It’s a beautiful restaurant in a great location, and it has lots of spacious seating. The food came out quickly, and it was so delicious! I think the shrimp tacos were the best I’ve ever eaten! And the basil margarita was a fun twist on a Mexican staple. My husband also enjoyed his chicken quesadilla. Highly recommend! Thank y’all for taking good care of us !
This was our second time here and it did not disappoint. It was early on Taco Tuesday so not too much of a crowd. Waitstaff was all friendly, the tableside guacamole was delicious, and drinks tasty. The carnitas are fast becoming a favorite for me. Hubs and friend ordered combo plates, one with all beef, and they said the dishes were really good. The atmosphere and bar area seemed inviting so after dinner we enjoyed a few more drinks. We will be back again for sure.
This place was excellent, it’s a great little restaurant in Roanoke! You kinda walk into this bland looking building and it’s so cool on the inside! Very modern vibes. The salsa is great! It’s more on the hot side so those who don’t like spice, I would avoid, but those like me, I couldn’t stop. We got the ceviche for an app, very good! Healthy portion of shrimp mixed with tomato, avocado, onions… very good! Finally the fajitas were excellent, the refried beans were super flavorful as well. Great experience! Gonna do it again!
The only thing was that we were seated in the back of a restaurant with a group of friends to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and despite the blackout blinds on the windows, it was still hot that afternoon. The two lamps above us and a broken fan didn't help with the heat. Later after dinner was almost done, they opened the black vanisha, the sun was gone and that helped a little bit. I think a fan will help. Besides that, the food yummy, the restaurant very pretty and the services EXCELLENT.
The food was pretty good. Nothing spectacular. The chips and salsa were good! We got a side of guac which was pretty good too! I got the shrimps ceviche, and it wasn’t the best. All the ingredients were good. I just wasn’t a fan of the flavor as it was pretty flat. The sopapillas were good, but they brought individual packets of honey which I thought was a little odd. Overall I would give it a 3.5/5.
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience here. We came in after the lunch rush on a Sunday after church. It was not busy and we were sat in the back. It took 15 minutes and a trip up to the hostess station to get a waitress to come take a drink order. When she came over she said that she saw us but wanted close out the other two tables she had first. We did receive our food quickly after she took our order. Per the course she dropped off the food and never came back to check on us. No one got a refill or anything. We ultimately had to again approach the hostess station for to go boxes and the check. Absolutely disappointing service and the picture above is how busy the restaurant was. Really no excuse. The only star for service was for the poor girl at the hostess station who continually apologized for the unprofessional lack of service. We will not be returning based on that alone.
