Nice place to go for nice dinner, totally recommend it
Friendly & attentive staff!! Delicious food!!
Great food. Awesome ambiance
Great staff, great food, Saturday night was very busy with temps in single digits. Was a good place to hang out and stay warm !!! 😬
It's a great place to dine, excellent food, good atmosphere, plus they cook everything in a open kichen where there is a brick oven that they cook some of food in, great to watch them do it.
Amazing Place with an amazing staff . Food 5* ,we enjoyed everything and the manager Emin super welcoming... will come back for sure!
Food is good.Love sitting inside but feeling like I am outside. Great atmosphere.
Great food, great service
Their salads are amazing! I’ve only ever been here for lunch
Excellent food and service!
Hometown restaurant that never disappoint. The drinks are excellent as well
The linguine w clams and raviolies were great. The staff was wonderful
GREAT IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT. THE ATMOSPHERE IS GREAT, BUT THE FOOD IS WHAT KEEPS BRINGING ME BACK TO AURORA.
Great food. fantastic drinks and an awesome atmosphere!
Fantastic Food, Friendly stuff, Excellent Service, Great Atmosphere!!!
The food is fresh and amazing, service is great.
Excellent food, excellent staff. We will be back!
Great food, pizza as an appetizer dough was fantastic. Just the right amount for 2ppl. Entrees we're wonderfully done, dressed up but not assuming. Will definitely be back
Spectacular service. Splendid Gnocchi. Fabulous roasted chicken Scarpariello. Simple but excellent wine list. Reasonable price. Tough to beat for a first time visitor ti Rye, NY.
I am often in White Plains for business, and ALWAYS make the short drive to Rye for Italian here. This is a wonderful bistro type restaurant, with attentive wait staff, quick seating, wonderful choices, and wonderful food. I particularly enjoy the Bolognese; rich and creamy, and very filling. Desert is always a must here...the tiramisu or the ice cream with espresso and shortbread cookies are the favorites. While the dining room can be quite noisy, and outside table along the sidewalk affords more quiet, and a great place to people watch. Many thanks to the staff and to the chefs for really GREAT everything!
Fantastic food and service. Had the cacio e peppe special and out table split four appetizers which were all fabulous. The service was impeccable.
Really good restaurant ! The appetizers with the burrata is amazing ! Idea for the menu : Calzone :)
Great local restaurant but bit noisy
Went there last night with another couple we have such a great night service was great We got Three appetizers Brussel sprout eggplant Parmesan and Bruschetta I got the halibut fish it was fantastic great atmosphere good for a group of for just a date I will definitely will be back
We go here all the time! They save their best dessert for me 🤫
Very nice restaurant, very friendly and excellent cuisine! Will definitely come back if we go by again.
This must be one of my favorite restaurant in the east coast. The food the service. The wine list.. especially the wine list.. everything is perfect.i am pretty hooked..
Always an excellent experience here! Service and food quality is delicious and consistent! The staff is always welcoming and beyond accommodating!!
Consistently superb food. Bread pudding is amazing. Not cheap, but fairly priced for a dinner which is always delights...
Always enjoy a delicious dinner at Aurora! The food, service and ambience never disappoint. A go-to place any time of the year!
I had a birthday dinner here with my family and I had such a blast. All the food was super delicious, my favorite is the Spicy Lobster Spaghetti. The lobster is so fresh and the spice is a nice kick and isn't too much. The service was wonderful, they added a little candle to my dessert and even sang with my family. Definitely enjoyed every bit. Thank you!
Great service and a wonderful meal.Looking forward to returning.
Both our dinners were excellent/tasty/unique. Staff and waiter were also excellent. Sat outside on a lovely evening and thoroughly enjoyed in all ways. Highly recommend.
On a Saturday night we were able to walk up and get a table on the street which was nice to be honest. Wife ordered zoodles with eggplant (non-meat) balls. I tried the eggplant balls lol and to be honest I would eat 100 of these things. Granted they are mushy but they packed tons of flavor which I was completely surprised of. I ordered the pasta with peas in a cream sauce with sausage. It was delicious. Waiter gave me more bread so I can clean my bowl. Ordered the red sangria which was not short on the alcohol content and I enjoyed that as well. We will definitely be going back. Service was great and waiter was very friendly.
Ordered take out from Aurora tonight based on the wonderful welcome and food/drinks they gave us for Taste of Rye on Saturday, really appreciate them supporting such a great cause. Normally for take out you grab your bag of food and that's it but the gentleman who greeted me at the door tonight could not have been more charming and helpful despite it being a busy Friday evening. My food was ready on time, all completely delicious, and I loved all the little extras. Thank you - will definitely be back
Great local semi-upscale restaurant. Mostly pasta/pizza but a few other options. Great atmosphere and service in a neat little town. Worth checking out if you are in the area.
10/10 experience. From the service to the food this place doesn’t disappoint, EVER. Get the vodka chicken parm!
Delicious food in downtown Eye. Pretty restaurant. The Parmesian crusted Halibut is excellent!
Really nice place. Attentive staff was kind and courteous. Never pressured us for an order. The food was phenomenal. I had the spicy lobster pasta and it was great. My wife enjoyed her burger very much as well. The crispy brussel sprouts appetizer was amazing as well. There were so many options that we can't wait to go back and try some other dishes.
One of my absolute favorite restaurants! Every Z Hospitality restaurant is top notch! Aurora is such a great local gem. The food is incredible and the service is excellent! Thank you Aurora for a delicious meal as always!
My wife and I go to Aurora every Friday after work—we simply enjoy the place. The staff is always friendly and professional, and they already know to serve me my favorite drink: paper plane. The food is consistently excellent, no matter what you order, but I especially recommend the branzino and the ribs—you really can’t go wrong with Aurora.
This restaurant is always 5 stars! From the minute we were greeted to leaving was 5 star level. Edwin, Miralla & Jose were so attentive and definitely service with a smile. They were very helpful & never interruptive. Always making sure we were 100% satisfied. Amazing service! Our appetizers, main course & desserts never disappoint. So Delicious!!! The specials are always so different & delicious and of course the wood oven pizza is a must. Make your reservations now - you will be so happy you did! See you soon Aurora⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent, Salad was great we loved how everything was chopped so small, and the presentation was very nice, only wish it came with anchovies. both seafood dishes were exceptional the Salmon and the Halibut were cooked to perfection. The Mashed potatoes however were the star of the show, Perfectly fluffy and delicious. The service was very good, Just a bit loud, and the waitstaff were overly eager to clean plates from the table. but other than that was a great place to eat.! Will definitely be back
My meal at Aurora was fantastic, and I highly recommend it. The tuna avocado appetizer was fresh and flavorful, setting a great tone for the evening. The raviolis were also spot-on—perfectly cooked and delicious. The restaurant itself has a very professional vibe, and the service was friendly and attentive. The menus were beautifully designed, adding a touch of elegance to the experience. Overall, a memorable meal that I’d definitely go back for!
I forgot to take pictures! Oh well giving 5 stars which is rare for me. I loved the food! Everything was delicious. We had the beet and goat cheese blintz for an app which was awesome. Also the calamari which was also great. My wife had the salmon and I had a salad with grilled shrimp. Our friends had the chicken parm and meat ravioli and they enjoyed it. I Loved everything. The service was spot on. The only glitch was that it was the evening before Easter and the place was jammed so it was loud and bustling. That could be good for some people but I wouldn’t mind it a bit quieter. Overall I’m a fan so go give it a try
This place was on my list from a long time and I finally got to experience the “Aurora” and I absolutely loved it. We were in a hurry so we only tried the eggplant parmesan and for dessert, we had bread pudding, and it was one of the most delectable things I have ever tasted. I'm definitely coming back here for this dessert.
recently dined here for a birthday celebration and could not be happier with the decision. the food was delicious, ambiance great sitting outdoors on a cool summer night, and great service. Appetizers: - eggplant parm, the surprise winner. unexpectedly great - mussels and fried calamari, both good and would get again Entrees: - lobster spaghetti, my favorite. little spicy, little creamy, and perfectly cooked pasta - linguini fini, tons of clams and good option - pizza, pretty good. I like how it's not overly cheesy but would be my last choice of the three Desserts: - pistachio gelato, I love pistachio gelato and this did not disappoint - cheesecake, surprisingly good. if you like cheesecake, you should get this - tiramisu, pretty standard / not so memorable
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. The location is perfect, the service is incredible, yoi can feel everyone's smile through the mask. The food is amazing. I highly recommend the American Waygu Beef Ravoili, the Carpaccio, and Arugula Salad. Support this place, its in my top 10 dining experiences.
Excellent food and sevice.
Quiet dinner.... Very nice!
Great local restaurant serving consistent and great food. Love the gnocchi salad.
Good food! had a great experience there last time we visited!
modern decor complements the creative nouvelle cuisine. service was a little harried on a sat. night.
Beet salad was delicious, wedge salad not so much.
My friend and I went for dinner on a week evening. The restaurant was a little bit pricey and the food was ok. We felt like they were rushing us to finish and get out even though they were not too busy.
Good food & great service...although eggplant parm appetizer was kind of cold!
Decent food and service. Nothing stood out but nothing was bad either. Enjoyed the outdoor dining area so giving it a 4 star.
Lovely meal. The pepperoni pizza was fabulous, Linguine with mussels, olive oil was exquisite. And as for drinks - the Paloma ✨👍
The service is exceptional and it is very apparent that they go through great efforts to ensure it is so. The food is good; a bit pricey.
Good food and service. I gave a lower rating for the atmosphere, because it gets quite loud, making it hard to have a conversation.
It’s a great place. Unfortunately the menu has not been updated in a very long time. Wish they would have risottos in the menu.
My wife and I had a lovely dinner last week. We sat at the bar and shared couple apps and entrees. Jose at the bar was a delight. Very much enjoyed our conversation and experience. Rather busy for a week day, next time we come back and sit in the dining room, I’ll remember to make a reservation prior. Service and food was prompt and would say above average compared to other local restaurants. Will be back for sure
Overall, the server was grest food was good the restaurant and its policy about placing orders. I did appreciate the restaurant commodating a walkin, but just to fill a seat is not what a customer should feel. l. Understand flipping sests but don't understand not allowing an appetizer and a dinner not to be placed at Sametime ( is that to limit those from just odering apps? )
Came for dinner on a Friday night and although it was busy, we enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was a bit slow. We had the mussels & eggplant appetizers, both were good. For entrees we had the halibut and bolognese. The halibut was great, bolognese was nothing special. I expected homemade pasta & it was not that- so I think I was a little disappointed. Would come back and try something else
Unfriendly service, pizza (medium size for 20$&) was nothing special, way too oily. Will not go back again.
Food was excellent but restaurant noise level was too high. I am not likely to go again.
Not bad, but nothing special either. Good place to bring kids, but the food is just okay - a solid B.
Skip theTuna tartare which is mostly avocado...eggplant parmigiana was burnt on top...branzino was very good...brussel sprouts were not good and mostly canned beans...nice but casual atmosphere...better options available
The place is always busy. 5 star for deco and atmosphere, 5 star for drinks selection. 1 star for food quality/portion vs the price. Need to improve on the food pricing/portion
went for lunch, sat inside, our greeter was charming and made us feel we were in for a good experience. Unfortunately it was disappointing. The hummus and bread was excellent, as was the beef ravioli. The chicken scarp was tough, maybe cooked from frozen? Service was lacking we had to signal for another glass of wine and we were never checked on. As soon as we took our last bite our plates were swept off the table. Not memorable enough to return.
Place was kind of expensive for food that should've been excellent. There were 4 of us with different dishes ordered and shared: the mussels were very good, had a nice spicy kick to it, the corn and lobster chowder barely had any lobster, the eggplant meatballs were delicious!, may be my favorite dish but it wasn't what I ordered unfortunately. I ordered the wagyu beef ravioli which was very oily. And the cocktails were a little weak. Staff was very attentive and nice to us, but would not go out of my way to return
I sympathize with restaurants that got hit hard by the Covid disaster, however I still would like to leave an honest review. Giving it a three star mainly because the two main dishes (lamb chops and ravioli) we ordered had very small portions, it is misleading to be considered as main dishes. The two appetizers are nice. My pizza was a decent size except barely had any cheese. We called in @630 to place an order, and were told pick it up @7. We got there @7, but we were told the order needed several more minutes. Finally @720 I received my order. Which, I’ll admit isn’t the worst, yet is still enough time to cause annoyance. I would recommend that the restaurant raise the price to incorporate more food so there is enough to be considered a main dish.
The food was fine..nice selection and good presentation. However, the acoustics are so bad that with a full restaurant the noise level so loud you cant even hear the person next to you. Too much noise can undermine the success of a night out if you cant comfortably have conversation.
The service was bad, we had to ask for straws three times before we finally got them. We received our appertises first but no bread. We had to ask a bus boy for bread, the waitress hardly stopped by. Cheese wasn't offered for my pasta, I had to get up and look for someone to ask for it.
Waitress rude and questioned our tip. She was not friendly or helpful. I don’t think I would e we go back.
we hit a very busy night. Noise was over the top and service forgetful Food fine.
Prices on the menu do Not match the ones on here!!! i was very unpleasantly surprised at the true cost, and after choosing to opt for the $17 dollar pizza as one of the cheapest items, it came out heinously salty, burned on the crust, and soaked through with sauce in the middle to the point that i could barely lift it. Service was polite and adequate, but overall a terrible experience:((
Fantastic location. But mediocre food. I ordered this lobster pasta, $29, hardly any lobster. But it's located in the very affluent Rye neighborhood, so I guess they can get away with overpricing the food and still be a popular dining spot. Reviewing and comparing "objectively", i think most other restaurants in Greenwich and Stamford offer better food for the same price or less. Come here if you "absolutely" have to dine in Rye - and have already been to all of the other restaurants here. Otherwise, venture 5-10 minutes to restaurants in neighboring towns. I came here thinking that I was supporting a new, local biz...and was a little disappointed that Aurora's also owned by the same company that owns Mediterraneo and Eastend (in Greenwich), and both of those offer better food for the same price. I actually love the food at Eastend! C'mon Aurora, you can do better than this
First time there Mike was a good server BUT our table of 4 ordered apps but 2 of us didn’t get our mussels seriously and all we received was SORRY shocking. Then entrees came with no sides didn’t even get a sorry and was told they must have forgotten it. Oh well another disappointing place
Food was not worth the cost and service was horrible. Waiter was rushing us from the minute we sat down. When we wanted to order dessert, again, we were rushed and told people were waiting to be seated? The waiter rushed us all night. We made a reservation for a night out for this? They had a sign out front that stated keep your meal to two hours and we still had 35 minutes left but obviously we should of ordered dessert and coffee with our meals. We didn't bother after his comment. He came back to pick up the bill and rudely took the signed receipt and 20% cash tip and said nothing more than good night. No thank you. Never again. Go anywhere else.
We’ve been loyal customers for years. But the last few times we’ve noticed the portions have shrunk, the noise has gotten louder, the prices are higher and with drinks and appetizers we are rushed out the door in 1 hour. Tonight we had to ask the waiters twice to let us finish our salads before removing the plates and pushing the entrees on us—which they persisted doing. Unfortunately we will not be back.
They try but food is mehhh. Not worth the price. We tried twice. Overcooked. Small portions. Not going back
Not kid friendly. Hostess was very rude. Will never go back again.
I haven’t even gotten to the location and it’s an immediate NO FOR ME . Frederica or whatever her name is who answers the phone and has a strong accent was rude and hung up on me twice after asking for a manager . Very very very very RUDE .
Beautiful decor great service decent food extremely over priced with minuscule portions
Not what I expected from an Italian restaurant. They came around with a basket filled with bread and had you pick ONE piece. The 'marinara' sauce that came with the fried calamari tasted like a very bland tomato soup, my chicken milinaise had ends pounded so thin and overcooked and if it wasn't for the wedge of lemon on the plate, it would have had NO flavor at all. Bes bezt5part of meal was the wine. Would never go back
Most obnoxious and rudest waitress and waiters ever. My children are vegan wanted to exclude cheese. They kept making fun of us all night. The place has a very seedy feel. Will never be back.
My first visit was less than desired. My fish was over cooked, the cauliflower saved the fish. My service was terrible. The waiter never told me the specials, he just layed the menu and special list in front of me and walked away. He never told me if they had a happy hour special. The portions were small. Don't think I will go back.
Family lunch: Bread: cold. Chicken wrap: chicken from the fridge, warm pita. Service: very loose. Quite a mess now.
Just a heads up, I spent $800 on a meal tonight to celebrate a family wonderful event. I bought a second bottle of wine for $125 and was half finished and was told by the general manager to leave so they can sit a party of 7 waiting for our table…After only being there for an hour and a half. The bottle was only half finished when that happened. I will never go back to this place as long as I live. Service stinks.
I will not rate the restaurant on their food, service or atmosphere. However, after several tries, we have asked that they build a cover for the wood, so it won't get wet. The wet wood smokes a lot and when the wind blows toward Purchase Street it's hard to breathe. We have a person on oxygen in order to breathe. I personally have developed a dry cough. All we are asking is for them to use dry kiln dried wood that should be in a Shead to keep it dry. Other idea that we have suggested is to make the chimney higher. We just want a good neighbor that cares for the people in the town that keeps them in business.
