Jimboy's Tacos Sacramento Reviews
My husband finds this place so nostalgic, since he used to come here as a kid with his grandma. So of course having us visit CA for the first time, he brought out some for us. It was amazing! The fresh taco, the cheese, the beef & chicken 🤌🏽 Definitely will be thinking of these for a while!
Old fashioned, delicious homestyle Mexican food founded in 1954. A chain of locations everywhere. Very filling. Combos are great.
Jimboy's is the place to go for a great selection of delicious Mexican food. Great options and the staff was very pleasant. Food was prepared rapidly and served hot. Delicious as always. You should give them a try if you are craving Mexican food!
Best tacos I’ve ever ever had!!! Soooo delicious! Fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions, salsa, etc. Carne asada cooked to perfection. Taco tortilla cooked perfect, soft with the Parmesan excellent! Very impressed! Customer service was friendly and greeted me with a smile. Absolutely no attitude. The restaurant was immaculate. Not busy which surprised me with the food being as good as it is.
I had an issue with an order that I needed help with. Juan was genuinely kind, professional, and seemed to truly care about helping me. He went above and beyond to resolve the issue, and helped me feel like my business was important to them. I sincerely hope the owner of this store and district manager can acknowledge him for his exceptional service. His approach to solving the issue makes me a midtown Jimboys customer for life. If I ran a restaurant, or really any business, I would hope to have a person like Juan to trust it with.
So glad they opened again! Friendly service. One request for the new owners. Both our experiences in the drive-through lately were such a long wait, never was like that before. Actually it was a little of a wait however not nearly as long as now. I hope you're able to figure the operations out because I'd like to come more often but I can't invest the 15 minute plus wait in the drive through. I tried the online orders. I ordered an hour before my pick-up time, however, I waited inside for another 10 minutes for the order to be ready. Food was consistently good as always.
Being from Reno, I had to try the Sacramento Jimboy's to compare and contrast the differences. The ground beef taco was equally delicious on both sides of the Sierras. The service was prompt and attentive. I may be mistaken, but I think I saw a sign saying this location served beer.. I'll have to go back and check if that is the case, because a beer would wash down a Jimboy's taco perfectly.
Driving through town. My family really enjoyed this place. We had bean and cheese burrito, beef taco, chicken taco, and beef enchilada. Everything was tasty and flavorful. There were varieties of salsa to choose from and they all had a great flavor. Bathrooms were clean and employees were all friendly. We sat outside with our dog on the patio.
Amazing place, amazing ice cream, amazing pizza! Bit pricey but it’s because the quality is so worth it.
I mostly go to the JBs on 29th street near the N street bus stop on my way home. I am hooked on the chicken taco salad (which has alot of chunky chicken & good spicey guacamole) & a Taho beef burrito & sometimes a carnitas taco w/no lettuce but cilantro is ok (I like that they dust it w/Parmesan cheese) & I get a large drink. I know it's alot of food but I have enough for at least 2 or 3 days & it tastes good warmed up. The complaint I have is how greasy both the burrito & taco shells are sometimes. The wrapper is soaked w/it & I have to eat them w/a napkin wrapped around it. I'm wondering if they occasionally change the grease when it gets old? I hate that smell & even the thought of ingesting it. Otherwise service is ok slow at times. Cashiers are mostly ok.
The food at this location wasn't as 'to die for' as the Woodland location, but it was still damn good. The veggie taco is only beans and cheese which isn't what I was interested in, but it was hot and good. Service was friendly and prompt and extremely polite to allow us to order and dine in right at closing. We didn't realize the dining area closes at 8:30 and drive through is open till 10.
I've heard of this place for years and years. Watched their videos of them making their tacos and they always looked so good. I'm very detailed on my reviews but since I'm sad to say I was dissapointed I'm keeping this short. I paid $5 for two tacos when I could've gone to Jack in the Box for two tacos far cheaper with my parmesan shaker. I thought they were going to be crispy, loaded and all nice. The shell was not crispy at all, not much meat, hardly any cheese and a lot of lettuce. They were nothing like I seen on videos. Goes to show that videos are all presentation sometimes. The salsas were awesome though. Service was nice and speedy so count those 3 stars as 5 for the service, two down for the food. I do appreciate how fast I was attended. You guys really do have an awesome team.
Jimboy’s, I love you, but what is this behavior? I got my DoorDash order and there was no hot sauce/salsa. None. Zero. Like you expected me to raw-dog a taco in 2025. Mexican food without sauce is a culinary hate crime. Please tighten it up: if the order is delivery, sauces should be automatic. This was tragic.
Didn't give us silverware so we had no way to eat our food, and then when we called to try and resolve our issue, they just gave us the "runaround" to top it all off they didn't even give us a receipt. Absolutely HORRIBLE service! Never again!
Jim boys on 29th St., Sacramento ordered a six pack tacos to share with a friend today, it was disgusting. The meat was grounded to a mush salty it was a waste of my money will never return back.
