New Happy Garden Sacramento Reviews
We had a birthday party here. Everyone was so nice and engaging. The restaurant is huge and comfortable. Great place, will go back again.
Always 1000% yes. They are just amazing. Both the food and the service is top notch. The ladies that run the place are just so nice and so much fun. The whole staff is very kind. Will return again and again.
This place has been the OG dim sum spot for my family and friends for years. Every visit is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of great memories. We came for a Friendsgiving meal and ordered a little bit of everything — intestines, wonton soup, pork spare ribs rice cakes, pineapple buns, sesame balls, egg tarts, and even the fresh crab they hand-pick in the back and fry to perfection. Everything came out hot, flavorful, and made to order. The fried garlic crab was the star of the night. I paired it with my 🧄🌶🪔 @tinashotchili chili oil for an extra kick, and it was incredible. If you’re in Sacramento and craving authentic dim sum, this is the place. You won’t regret it.
Came here for dim sum with my mom and her friends, and this might be my new dim sum spot in Sac! Everything tasted so fresh, and so good in general!!! My favorite was definitely the rice roll with some crispy doughnut? inside (I believe it's called golden roll but not sure). Usually when I order this dish as other places it's just the doughnut in the rice roll with some soy sauce, but Happy Garden adds fresh cilantro to it making each bite so flavorful and aromatic. I basically inhaled half the dish to myself! Service was great, the cart ladies kept coming to check if everything was good and wanted anything. You can also order whatever you want from the menu that the carts might not have! The restaurant is HUGE and has plenty of seating, I loved that I didnt have to wait and was able to just stay as long as I want listening to my aunties gossip! Definitely recommend coming here for dim sum, and will come back for dinner sometime :)
7/28/24 new finding: the restaurant charged "15 mgmt fee" to the bill equals to 15% of the food price for our table of 4 without telling us. Be aware!!! food still good, decent service, but scamming customers on tip. Nice restaurant, food came fast, hot, and delicious. Friendly people. Service has improved.
Traveling from North Dakota and was really wanting twice cooked pork. This restaurant popped up as number one in the area for it. The meal was excellent. The server was very attentive and explained the process for dining there as I had not been to a similar establishment before. She explained different items on the menu and even gave me delicious recommendations. I enjoyed the experience. I loved the ambiance and how nicely decorated the restaurant was for events. I definitely will return. If you like spice I recommend stopping by and trying their twice cooked pork!
Had a party of 8. Food was served right on time one dish 2 dishes. Food was hot awesome tasting. Would go back in a heart beat. Couldn't have been any better. The food was just delicious. We had a 8 course dinner. Had another awesome dinner last night. They hit it out of the park again.
My family and I have been coming here for years. They are wonderful and the food and service are always the best! I don't live as close as I used to but travel from North Laguna to eat there now. You can ask my kids what they want, and they won't say Panda Express or anything else they will say "Happy Garden". I'll ask if they want the one in Elk Grove or Sacramento. They always say Sacramento. That's because no other place can beat it! My family will always enjoy Happy Garden Sacramento and will support their business as much as we can. See you next time! (I'll try to take better pictures to next trip as I wasn't thinking about posting them here initially, and these don't give you full credit)
New Happy Garden is a delightful Chinese restaurant that never fails to impress. From the moment you enter, the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The menu is filled with a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes, each prepared with care and bursting with flavor. Whether you're craving classic favorites like General Tso's chicken or seeking something more adventurous like Szechuan beef, New Happy Garden has you covered. The portion sizes are generous, and the ingredients are fresh, resulting in a satisfying and delicious dining experience. The attentive service and reasonable prices are an added bonus. If you're in the mood for tasty Chinese cuisine, New Happy Garden is a fantastic choice.
Welcome to the wonderful world of "Dim Sum." You walked into a very open and spacious place. Bustling with private conversations, servers and subtle noise from cutlery. New Happy Garden is a Cantonese Chinese restaurant. The theme here is patrons sit at their tables and servers wheel about trolleys containing small plates of Chinese dishes. From vegetable entrées, fish, shrimp to beef. Each time to request a dish it is added to your bill. When you are finnish, the pay the server.
This is the first time I have had my dim sum breakfast at the New Happy Garden in a few years. The service has significantly improved from a couple of years ago. They have very fast service and many dim sum carts to move the fresh dim sum around in front of all the tables. Most of the workers here can speak English. All four of us fixed our dim sum addiction in half an hour. The qualities of the dim sum are okay, but nothing is stand out. The dining room is a little dated. But I think I’ll be back due to their speedy service.
Came in for a quick bite. Had the tripe, chicken feet, pork spareribs, shu mai, pineapple buns (not pictured) & sesame balls (not pictured). The restaurant was pretty empty as we arrived 30mins after it opened. The food was delicious, warm & fresh. Will be back when we are craving for more dim sum...👍
I didn't want to go to this place but my husband convinced me so I gave it a shot. Indeed it was a nice regret! The restaurant is full packed! You don't have to wait longer bcoz the food carts would just swing by on each table. The food was great. I even forgot to take photos because I was so hungry😂 I asked them if I could take pictures.for google review. Definitely going back, the only downside on this restaurant is it smells.old and not so clean feeling. The bathroom was pretty stingy. Nevertheless the food was really great!
Being chinese, i feel like a 3.6 is the rating for good cantones chinese food, so I am told. 😋 My beef chow fun was pretty good, meat was tender noodles fresh, a bit greasy for my liking, and it was take out. Next time we will try the dim sum. I hope you can see my pics of the menu I always want to see the price range when I come to Google restaurant sites, rarely is it up to date. Enjoy drink lots of tea🍵 😉
Have been coming here for dim sum over 10 years. The flavors have come down. Dim sum were not made with care for flavor as before. Sad to see this happened.
I experienced this twice so i have to write the feedback to let more people know. Be careful and review your sheet on the table. They gave us 6 dishes but marked 8 dishes on the sheet and will charge us based on the sheet. We caught it and told them to correct the sheet. The waitress was asking “you probably finished one dish and removed?” From that question, i could tell this is not a mistake but they have been doing that intentionally, because we just sit down at the table 3 minutes ago and then got the 6 dishes. We just started eating and almost all of the 6 dishes were still full. We ended up paying the billd, after tax and tips, $80. If we didn’t catch, we would pay $100+ . So be very careful when you go there, they earn a lot of money that they don’t deserve and many customers probably already paid for the dishes that they didn’t even eat.
Terrible terrible experience so far! DEEP FRIED PLASTIC coming through. FYI! This was covered with breading so you will not notice this unless you chew it. This has been my go to chinese food fix because of proximity to my home. This time I was so disgusted and so disappointed on how they treat and handle situations like this. I called them to let them know what I’ve found on my food and even sent them the pictures. The lady I spoke to sounds very displeasing and not genuinely sorry. She even said “I know you, I know you” even after she took my order via phone and after our conversation about my complaint. This piece of burnt plastic can pose extremely health risk and not to mention that I found this on my 2 year old child’s mouth as she was trying to chew it but she can’t. This is not acceptable and they should do something about this. Gave them a chance before posting this but they’re not too concerned.
