El Zapata San Andrés Cholula Reviews
Nice, quiet and cosy place for breakfast or lunch
I had dinner then I had breakfast !!!it's amazing .... I can not believe how fresh the food tastes. I got ribs last night and the meat was tender and on a long bone !! The sauce was Texas worthy ! French fries with a dipping sauce and the cabbage outstanding ../. Then desert a creamy corn thing ...... breakfast again in a skillet and again speechless .... lattes as big as a bowl of soup
My favorite breakfast spot. I feel like the chilaquiles lack more variety, but the bread is the most delicious I've had in Cholula. Don't order cold desserts like cheesecake from the display case, though, because it has a kilo of sugar. But the babka bread is delicious, and the chilaquiles are morita. Something I've also noticed is that it takes a long time to bring the food, even though sometimes there aren't that many people. Other than that, everything is delicious.
I arrived on a Sunday at 10 am and there were several tables available, so I could choose where I wanted to sit. The waiter gave us the menu and after 5 minutes asked if we wanted something to drink. I ordered an espresso and a sweet roll with chocolate (a bad decision on my part because the roll was already sweet and the chocolate made it even sweeter; I don't recommend the roll for people sensitive to sugar. I do like sugar, but not that much). The coffee tasted good and was nicely presented. For breakfast, I ordered a simple omelet and a fruit bowl with yogurt (both recommended for people with lactose intolerance like me). Both were well-presented and tasted good. The wait for the food was about 15 minutes. The atmosphere is quiet enough for conversation, the furniture is comfortable, and the service is good and friendly.
Absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was excellent. The itacate and the enchiladas poblanas, besides being beautifully presented, were delicious. Their barista makes amazing lattes, and the service was top-notch. The only thing that didn't quite get a perfect score was the kouign amann, as it seemed more like a brioche to me and lacked caramelization on the bottom, but despite that, it was still tasty.
Excellent place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner; the service is good. For breakfast, I recommend a coffee, a pastry (especially the kouign amann), and some chilaquiles to leave you satisfied. Ideal for lunch or dinner is a good iced coffee with milk and a hamburger, fries with cheddar cheese, or pizza. The menu is very varied, and they can always give you recommendations on what you'd like.
I came here with my girlfriend for our Sunday brunch after a friend recommended the place, and it is amazing. The pancakes are fluffy and sweet. My recommendation is the “Sandwich Rustico” prepared on “Pan Rustico”. For me, coming from Germany, it is sometimes hard to find good bread, but this one comes close to the one we have at home. The service is great, the atmosphere is really calm. The breakfast menu is diverse. They specialize in eggs and sandwiches, but offer their whole menu all day, so you can have hamburgers or pizza for breakfast if that’s something you’re into. The dishes are prepared in an open kitchen, so you can watch the chefs prepare your food. Very transparent, clean, and safe. Overall an amazing restaurant.
The service was good, I liked it. The staff were very attentive to our needs, and the chocolate and custard bread was delicious! However, when we ordered our food, we got pesto pasta, and honestly, it was awful. It was over-seasoned and needed way too much salt; it literally tasted like grass. That's the only thing I feel they should change, because we also tried the green enchiladas, and those were absolutely delicious.
A very well-located place in the center of San Andrés Cholula. The problem is the parking; be careful with the bartender because they ask for a tip after you've already paid them 35 pesos—I think giving them extra is unnecessary. The food is very good, the pizza is excellent, the bread is delicious, and the waiters provide good service.
Prices are a bit steep per person, but the food is good and the atmosphere is great for a small party. The pepperoni pizza is very tasty, but the pulled pork is a little too sweet. Overall, a good place to have dinner with friends.
We ordered chipotle potatoes. I believe the menu says they come w cilantro and Parmesan. Did not see any of that. Pretty uninteresting. The decor is very nice. The music was melancholy.
Today we visited Zapata, with high expectations, but unfortunately it was a bad experience. Upon arrival, they gave us the menu, and it had a dead fly on it. The waiter was friendly but not very proactive. I asked him if the chilaquiles were spicy since we had a 2-year-old, and he said he didn't know. He brought us our coffee, but they didn't provide any sugar or spoons, and the coffee was cold. We ordered a chocolate bread, which came 20 minutes later, cold and in a bag. We thought they would give us a plate, but that never happened. The food took a long time to be served, and we were the only ones in the establishment. They don't have a children's menu and don't offer any options. We asked if they could sell a half order of chilaquiles. Then another guy came and said that they've never been able to do that, that we should bring the whole order, and they'd take out anything the child didn't eat. The food is good. We later asked for more coffee, and it was served colder. When we asked for it to be reheated, it was brought to us very hot, and unfortunately, they spilled some a few inches from my son. Fortunately, he had his hands under the table. This could have been a very good place, but the service was very poor, despite their friendly service. We weren't inclined to return. If you have children, this isn't a place to visit; look elsewhere. My recommendation is to train your staff.
Unfortunately the food in this place is not good. I had a lot of expectations because many people like it but it’s really hot inside because they are making the bread and then the food instead of just being normal sandwiches are like really complicated sandwiches and then I drink a lot of water and they are glasses are like the size of a minion.
I found some garbage in my bread. I mentioned it, but I didn't ask for a refund or anything; I just mentioned it as a comment. Even so, I didn't see them offer any solution. I think that even if your service is failing, even if your customer is friendly and takes it in stride, good customer service requires resolving the issue. Terrible!
