Carlo's Bake Shop San Antonio Reviews
Was really skeptical abt how the cakes gonna taste but afta trying i can def recommend to all to have a try at this Carlo's Worth spending every $
Carlos Bakery 👏 Didn't disappoint y’all! The bakery atmosphere is nice with a variety of sweets to die for, especially if you’re a sweet tooth kind of gal/guy. I tried the chocolate dip cannoli and the 🍩Bacon caramel donut which was good a little different. Bacon was perfectly cooked. They also serve some yummy coffees. ☕️ I have to say, The Prices are decent. 🧁🎂 The Staff very friendly 😊 A must try !
Ordered on uber eats and I really am struggling to understand the poor reviews unless they totally changed chefs recently. We ordered the apple pie, cheesecake, and “lobster tail”, and it was all SO unbelievably good!! can’t wait to eat it all again.
First time at Carlo's today. We had a slice of red velvet cake and cappuccino. It was excellent. We also ordered the fancy butter cookies tray to enjoy for breakfast this week. Service was great and quick. We will be back. Thank you!
My wife and I were talking and shopping at La Contera in San Antonio TX. We hopped right in to the Bake Shop and found wonderful confections and all types of deserts that tingle the taste buds! The staff was wonderful and spoke to us like we were family. A friendly and loving atmosphere! We gree fond of this cake shop and will always be loyal customers. I appreciate the person to person interactions in the fact that the shop exudes excellence. Thank you for your time, staff, and treats.
Omg, when you walk in the taste of sweetness just fills your heart! Everything looks so delicious! In couldn't help myself and purchased way too much but man... WITH NO REGRET! Love how they sell pre-packaged slices of cake! The chocolate cake slice and the red velvet cake slice were AMAZING!!! I also got 2 peanut butter cookies for my husband and he LOVED them.
Ok to start off I tried to go here 3 separate times and ended up leaving because the line was wrapping around the mall and they were very limited what they had in the case due to demand. I decided to go as soon as they opened on a Wednesday and it was a better decision I was able to get a good assortment of goods. I have to say everything was really good especially the lobster tails by far my favorite! Also they have jelly donuts which a hard to come by or find good ones. I think this will be a regular stop once the traffic normalizes.
First time at a Carlo’s Bake Shop. Purchased a number of different items to try. The cannolis, apple pastry, chocolate layer cake and lobster tail were our favorites. We would get any of these items again. The strawberry short cake and carrot cake were on the dry side. The strawberries were not fresh. The cakes were all pre-sliced and packaged. Not sure if a whole cake would taste differently.
I got the 5 pack of cannoli ($20), rainbow cake with butter cream, and the sprinkle cookies. The cannolis were good but I might try another pastry next time I go. I was surprised the rainbow cake was very good. I got it for my daughter and she raved how it was so I took a bite it was delightful. I really should of picked up more cake slices. The cookies were ok but looked very cute. I would go back to try the red velvet and or carrot cake.
The pumpkin Danish was excellent. The cookies and cream lobster tail was not something I would recommend, very messy and much crunchier than I had anticipated, and the tiramisu seemed like it was missing something. The coffee was much stronger than I'm used to and overpowered the vanilla add in I requested. The selection was smaller than I imagined too.
Very new store. Lots of options in the form of bakery items. The cakes are 4 levels and they have at least 5 different types of cake (red velvet, carrot, etc..). I had the cupcakes. Not bad. I noticed that you can order online and pick up in store. They, also, have a coffee bar with many options. I wouldn't go out of my way to make it here, but if you are shopping in La Cantera, I would definitely stop in for a treat.
I grew up in an Italian section with the best cannoli’s; these were not only extremely expensive, but were too sweet, couldn’t taste the ricotta cheese . And certainly not worth having again. Extremely disappointed
The woman who helped us had no personality and didn't respond to our efforts to make conversation. We each had a pecan chocolate chip cookie. Two cookies cost $9. For that price, you'd expect to have a GREAT cookies. These were not only NOT great, but they weren't even good. Bad taste, expensive, unfriendly service. Won't be back.
Never again. Overrated bakery. The cakes are as generic as the walmart ones. Too much sugar in a single bite. Not a good experience.
The desserts are really bad. I got the Dubai cheesecake and the chocolate on top was super thick and hard, I felt like I was going to break a tooth. Not only that but it is super overpriced for the quality you are getting. Not coming back again.
I got here 10 minutes before they were supposed to close. The lights were half off they cleaned everything and mopped. Like if they decided to close early. I knocked and the girl mopping didn't even bother to look at me even though she was 10 feet away from the door. This is very unprofessional and rude. Follow your actual hours. You are in an actual mall not some random place.i knocked multiple times. There was a couple of people in there too.
I have mixed feelings about this review. But after my experience I cannot recommend ordering from Carlos Bakery. I ordered a few weeks ahead of time so my order would be delivered on a Friday. The order came in 3 days late on the following Monday around 7pm. The dry ice had melted and the lobster tails had defrosted. I had to throw the whole order away. At this point I was upset with the shipping company. So I emailed the help link from Carlos to see what they could do. Days went by without a response. After several days my wife called Carlos Bakery. They were nice and told her it was good that we didn't eat the lobster tails but they said they could not help. They directed her to the help email So for a third time I sent an email and never heard anything. I called my Credit Card company and initiated a dispute of the charges. It has been about a month and the issue has still not been settled. I still have not heard back from Carlos Bakery. So now I am also upset with them. I recommend you not order from them, unless you are willing to go thru the same hassle. Life is to short for that. Hope this helps someone deciding where to order or not. See photo attached. It also appears that the people who handled the delivery played basket ball with the box. The lobster tails were all shook up.
