We visited this restaurant for dinner. They take care of having an excellent presentation for their plates. I ordered Bento 2 but I preferred some of its seasoning on the side. The flavors are somewhat strong. We were very impressed with the decoration of the place. It transports you to a real Japanese atmosphere. I’ve never been to Japan, but in, but I’ve seen on documentaries. It appears that they’re very colorful and this place represents all of that. We found out that Sapporo is a capital of the mountain is northern Japanese island of Hokkaido and it’s famous for its beer. We did not try the beer or drinks at this time. We try the jasmine tea and the green tea and they were subtle and delicious. The name itself, we found, means important river flowing through a plane in the indigenous IAinu language. We will most definitely get back to try out some of the extensive menu that they present. I recommend and encourage you to give this restaurant a visit. I was also very surprised to find out that it’s been here for 13 years.

I kind of don't want to make a review so people don't find out how GOOD this place is. Buttt because I loveeee asian food I MUST! This place is like if you found the golden ticket to willy Wonka. Haha the food is delicious! I had their bento boxes and sushi here and it's all fresh and very filling. Also, I have to pair it with a Sapporo beer or kirin. I like both! The bento boxes, sushi, and beer is very affordable it another plus and why I give it 5 stars. The waiters haven been friendly each time I come. Oh I can't forget this place so freakin cool it giving off retro vibes! You must check out!

Went here with my friend yesterday and had a wonderful experience!! It felt very open yet private enough to hear what each other is saying. The sushi was delicious and the service was wonderful as well! Can’t wait to come back here with my husband. 🙌

Had a nice casual dinner here with my daughter. We both love sushi and this place did not disappoint! The sushi pieces were huge! The chicken teriyaki and beef bulgogi were excellent! The wait staff was very friendly and polite. We will be back!

What an hidden gem. The ambience is amazing. You feel like your eating on a busy street is Japan, but with the quiet of a restaurant. The food was amazing and very easy on the wallet. The portions are a good size and the sushi rolls are big. I will definitely be back.

Great place to get a good meal. They have great sushi options and their customer service is very friendly. Prices are reasonable and quality is good. Parking is limited but you can usually find a spot close by. Gets crowded at times but has plenty of seating to manage.

Don't remember the server's name but she was excellent and extremely attentive, especially when my parents both dropped their chopsticks and had a fresh set within 20 seconds each time. I really liked the privacy screens between all the tables, reminded me of some of the restaurants in Japan. My parents got shoyu ramen miso ramen and they enjoyed it. my bento with the spicy pork was also really good. Would come back if I'm in the area.

The inside of this restaurant is super fun! Cute date night spot. Reasonably priced sushi that in size is HUGE! The service was very nice and fast even though I came in 40 min before close.

I used to visit this place a lot when I was living in student living since it’s in the area. Now visiting 7 years later I don’t really understand what I liked so much about it. The decor is other worldly, but I wish they put more effort into their foods. The ramen I got was very bland and had little toppings, you could tell it was the normal ramen noodles from the pack just placed into a different broth, and my noodles tasted very over cooked. The plating of everything makes it look like it would be packed with flavor and quality, but that’s not how it tasted. The rolls we got were huge but even the sauce and toppings didn’t make it taste anything more than seaweed and rice. Overall everything just tasted plain and not like I remembered it at all. My spouse and I got several dishes but not one really changed our experience. We didn’t even end up taking any leftovers home because it was unappetizing. We spent about $100 between the both of us and I don’t feel it was worth it at all.

1st time, wait time was 20-25 minutes. Miso soup and salad was delicious. We ordered 5 rolls and the spicy edamame. Rolls were good but needed more pressed they were breaking apart. Overall very nice atmosphere.

Visited Sapporo in San Antonio based on a high recommendation. Upon entering, encountered a notices insisting that groups of 5 or more must pay by one check and they reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.  Now in the overall scheme of life these are not big deals, but at the same time, both were a bit unwelcoming as the first things I notice entering your business.  As for the rationale on the one check rule, shared by a staff member, it’s more convenient for the server during busy times.  PAUSE Isn't the point of owning an establishment to stay busy? In my recollection, there didn't appear to be many booths or tables accommodating five or more people. Even if there were, it shouldn't prevent servers from efficiently managing multiple tickets. Speaking from my past experience in the hospitality industry, handling separate tickets for a table of more than 5 was never an issue, no matter how busy it got. Entering the place, I was impressed with the décor … would be a cool little date spot I thought, but then remembered it might not be a good idea to go as more than one couple, because you might be late for your movie having to figure out your separate checks and then having to venmo or zelle the one person who paid for everything in order to get their money back. But first you must figure out who is going to pay the whole bill. Apologies for the digression. The menu offers a diverse selection, but surprisingly, there's no fried rice – just white steamed rice. Seemed to not offer in an Asian Fusion restaurant.  Especially considering fried rice’s simplicity and assumed popularity, but not my kitchen.  Our group ordered various items, receiving mixed reviews. Standouts were the Seafood Ramen and Bibimbap bowl, both earning high praise, while other dishes fell in the range of 2 to 3 out of 5. I must commend Jackson for being a fantastic server—a genuinely kind soul. I'm grateful that our group only had one check, sparing Jackson from the hassle of sorting out individual orders and matching credit cards. Oh wait guys, I have to go … the Zelle I just sent to the person who paid our bill didn’t go through.  I need to check my bank and see what may have happened. I hope I didn’t send it to the wrong person. If it did not go through, maybe I can use another app, like cashapp or venmo, oh wait, he doesn’t have those.  Geez, now looks like I have to go to an ATM to get cash, does anyone know where an ATM is around here?  I can pay you later, you say, oh ok that’s cool.  Just remind me….@ SAPPORO OWNERSHIP hear the message!?

The yakisoba is the grossest thing I’ve ever had. It’s gritty like it has sand in it and I just fished out the partially dissolved bouillon cube that was used to flavor the spaghetti noodles. They’re not even egg or soba noodles. There’s only 3 pieces of tough chicken. The noodles came on 3 inches of oil. Greasy, gritty and flavorless. Disgusting! It’s in the trash now. The sushi is way too thick with rice and I’m not a fan of neon dyed ginger. I know the economy is rough right now, but this is a downright scam. We rarely eat out now and every time we try again it’s a huge disappointment.
