Kin Thai & Sushi San Antonio Reviews
Had Cheese rolls, Paht Thai, Green Curry with stir fry rice. So tasty! Everything taste homemade somehow. They are all great on asking if we need anything else. And the prices are unbeatable! Def recommend for a cozy and chill experience.
The service is amazingly fast and everyone is always super nice. The food is fresh and high quality. We eat there 2-3x a month and have never had anything bad. Everything is great!
Kin Thai & Sushi (San Antonio Dominion Restaurant) - Just discovered this place. We went there for Thai cuisine, which we had, but the sushi rolls we saw come out looked fantastic, so we will definitely go back for sushi next time. We ordered the Thai Spring Rolls, Chicken Phat Thai, and Chicken Phat Khing, and were treated to some Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Everything looked great and tasted delicious. The Phat Thai was as good as we have had anywhere! The servers were efficient, attentive and courteous. Prices very reasonable. The dining room was full, but not noisy. A very pleasant ambiance for a casual dinner.
Excellent first time experience! So fresh and yummy! Great service and a great deal at lunch. I ordered the pad thai lunch portion $12 and appetizers and had plenty leftover for next days lunch. My husband loved the duck panang curry. Delicious and gorgeous presentation. The modern decor is spot on~ well done. Clean bathrooms too, which is a plus. Def coming back!
This place is so good! One of the bes thai places I have ever been to. It’s a little place but the environment is really nice. We tried their pad thai and kin cashew with beef. LOVED both! If you like thai definitely give it a try! Tried their thai tea too. Liked the flavor of the tea but not the boba in it. Would definitely go back to try their other food!
Kim Thai and sushi is one of the hidden gems in the Dominion area. The service was phenomenal. Our server Ana made recommendations on best dishes to try. The presentation of food is amazing with fresh flower decorating the papaya salad. Real authentic food! We enjoyed our meal and best of all it was served right away. We didn’t have to wait too to get our meal ready. They cater to the lunch crowd so they offer $12 meal. In this day and age having a $12 meal with soup and all is the way to go if you love eating good. They give you big portions so come hungry. We ended up taking it time and made another meal out of it.
What a wonderful place! We are originally from the Seattle area and have enjoyed Thai here in San Antonio. But recently a friend recommended this restaurant for us to try. We were excited to learn our dishes did not disappoint! The Phad Thai had outstanding flavor and we loved the little orchids on our plates. For desert my husband and Ienjoyed the Fried Bananas and icecream. By far, one of the best Thai Food restaurants we've ever experienced. Now we can't wait to go back to try all the dishes on thier menu! I have to say, we enjoyed watching all the orders from others around us arriving to thier tables. Such beautiful and unique presentations!
We absolutely loved this place. Took our 4 kids, and they were each able to find something they liked: edamame, satay, kin spring rolls, and chicken udon soup. We also ordered the cashew chicken, San Antonio roll, pad see ew, and sunomomo salad with seaweed. Presentation was gorgeous, food was quick, and service was over the top accommodating. So glad we have this place in the area!
Great sushi in a contemporary, warm atmosphere! We visited on a Thursday evening and were seated right away. Our server was extremely polite, made recommendations, and was very prompt. We ordered the Red Dragon roll, Alamo roll, San Antonio, and California rolls. Everything came out quickly and were delicious. Highly recommend!
While shopping at The Rim, we’ve driven up the road to eat at Kin Thai & Sushi many times. To be honest, it’s a bit of a hit or miss depending on the day. Staffing levels and how busy they are really determines the kind of service and food quality you’ll get. For the most part, the food is good, fresh and flavorful. When the restaurant isn’t too busy, customer service is great. But when they’re slammed, expect slower attention, you’ll get your food and drinks, but might have to wave someone down for refills or your check. The place itself is small and can feel a little tight when it’s full. Overall, it’s a convenient spot with solid food, just be prepared for an inconsistent experience depending on the crowd that day.
I stopped in to Kin Thai for lunch last Sunday and I had previously viewed the menu online. The original appetizer I wanted (steamed buns) they said they ran out of a long time ago. Strange that it was still on the menu. I was also never offered a drink menu desperately seeing a clear bar area. The sushi that I ordered was so so so incredibly fresh and tasty. The rice was cooked perfectly. However it took twenty minutes to come from the kitchen. The wait wouldn't be such a big issue but they brought my boyfriend's pork belly fried rice out fifteen minutes before the sushi. I felt bad making him wait so I orded the kin thai spring rolls. There were delicious and came out really quickly. The food was really really fantastic. The only complaint was the weird food timing. I absolutely would come back.
Food is fresh every time we order BUT there’s absolutely no flavor. Our noodles don’t have any flavor. Disappointing as we don’t have many restaurants in our area.
Hit or miss. Ive been here multiple times and it seems like their quality is not keeping up with their price. We ordered the basil stir fry and they did not tell us they were out of basil until after the food was brought out with no basil. How do you run out of basil as a Thai restaurant?? Sometimes ive come here and enjoyed what i had, other times the food is bland and too sweet. Many dishes on the menu are 20+ and Ive had much better thai food at this price point.
Kin Thai has been part of our neighborhood for years. The food is always fresh and consistent. That’s why we keep coming back. The service however, is the opposite. Every visit follows a similar pattern. We sit down, we wait, and we get ignored. Today was no different. Half the tables were empty. The staff was fully on. Still no water for at least 10 minutes. We aren’t demanding customers. We’ve been patient visit after visit. But it’s clear the issue isn’t a one-time slip. It’s a service culture problem. If you want good Thai food and don’t mind being invisible, this place delivers on taste. If you expect basic hospitality, prepare to be disappointed. Four stars for the food. One star for the service. Average it out to two. This place could be excellent with better attention to customers.
