Kung Fu Saloon San Antonio Reviews
went late on a Monday night for my friends birthday, the atmosphere was amazing and there were a lot of mini games to keep you occupied! they have guitar hero, basketball, street fighter, etc. they also have a small outside area with jenga and very cute spinning hammock chairs. you can't rent out your own personal karaoke room, or you can hang out at the bar with our favorite bartender Billy! he was killing it all night :) highly recommend for big groups, they have a ton of drink options and happy hour selections!
Love coming here! As a local, I have brought many friends and always have a great time. Mary is the best bartender and is always so attentive! The games, drinks and atmosphere make every visit worth it! We will keep coming back over and over!
This place is fun for adults. It has arcade games a lots of fun drinks. Our bartender was so knowledgeable and very friendly. We only stopped by for one drink and to check the place out, but we will definitely go back.
Had a great time when I was there last weekend! Billy was awesome and definitely made the experience very enjoyable. Should give that guy a raise! We will be going back for sure
Came to Kung Fu saloon on a business trip & i have to say the atmosphere was amazing! Mary was my bartender and she was very accommodating to my needs! Drinks were made fast & delicious! i really recommend going and asking for Mary if you find yourself in San Antonio!
i was here this past Saturday and i wanted to give a big shoutout to Mary for being the kind of bartender everyone hopes to have when they go out. She was friendly, quick, and had an awesome sense of humor that instantly put us at ease. You can tell she knows her stuff. every drink she made for me and my friend group was top tier! 🙌🏽 Even with a packed bar, Mary was totally in control—fast with service, always smiling, and somehow managed to check in with everyone without missing a beat. It’s rare to find someone who can juggle a crowd and still make you feel like you’re the only person at the bar. Honestly, bartenders like Mary are the reason you keep coming back to a place. She’s a total pro and just a great person to be around. Can’t wait to come back and grab another round!
Amazing service. Billy was the best bartender i have had in a while. We came in when it wasn't super busy and he made us feel special. 10 out of 10 would recommend come in ask for Billy have a great time.
decided to come to kung fu for some drinks with my best friend. It was my first time at Kung fu. I don't know if the drinks were perfect for me or it was the great time and conversation we were having with Adrian our bartender. I highly recommend checking kung fu out & ask for Adrian you will gave a great time!
Expensive and small. The karaoke was fun but the sound is low. The hostess was fun and kept it going . Video games are expensive. Bar menu drinks were weak and not appealing, dos XX had a weird taste.
It was a calm vibe! I enjoyed the music they played as they played a few of my favorite tunes.. door stay was quite welcoming as well!
It's... fine. There's 20 arcade games total not including the basketball hoops or skee ball. Lots of those cool arcade games that let's 2 or more people play. Centipede game wasn't there, LAME! Bar was busy, but everytime we walked up we were served pretty fast so no complaints there. Probably won't be back soon.
I went for my bachelorette and it was fun but the drinks were ridiculously expensive, why was a shot the same price as a mixed drink? Also we didn’t get to use our hour of karaoke to its fullest because our server came in every five minutes to interrupt. Would most likely not come again and will not recommend to others.
good music but tried robbing me charged my card twice but thankfully my bank thought it was a scam and locked my card so then i paid cash and they took an extra 10 from my change back had to ask for it back didn’t give it back said i was wrong just left it since they needed it more then me lol
This place has so much potential. It seems like the problem lies in the lack of freedom the staff is given to address issues. This was my second time being at the bar to do karaoke with friends and this time it was not great whatsoever. For starters, the ipad to choose songs kept glitching so out of the hour we paid $50 for, we missed out on several minutes due to the ipad not working. Secondly, we were rudely interrupted two times by random drunk people trying to join our *paid* session. We told the bartender about our experience in hopes of at least having our drinks comped or SOME type of compensation and he very rudely said "im just a bartender there's nothing i can do about that". Any place that cares about their patrons would have offered a refund or some type of compensation for the wasted money. I really liked this spot but after that experience I feel like I don't want to give them my coin anymore. I would love a refund but I didn't want to bother conversing further with the already rude bartender.
More of a bar, less of an arcade. Not what we expected. Our $9 drinks were ok. The games take quarters but there are very few of them. The music is so loud you can't actually hear the games or conversation. Friendly bartender, but a strange vibe altogether. Tiny patio with a large Jenga set and foosball table. Clean bathrooms. Bought $5 worth of quarters, used less than $2 before we left. Boring.
After visiting the Austin location, I was so excited to try this place out! I must say I was let down very hard. The bartenders were excellent, friendly and quick, not rude at all. Music is good in selection. However: most of the games were broken and unplayable! For a brand new place, this was super disappointing. There’s an outside area but it’s still pretty small. This was such a letdown. Maybe if things change, I’ll give it another shot.
I went with some friends on a Sunday and days later I realized that they charged me for 2 extra drinks. This time they gave me the itemized ticket. I called and the manager told me that he was going to contact me but nothing happened.
they didn’t want to let my friends & i in bcs some had a mexican id, it’s giving racist lol
Very cool space and fun decor, however had to leave due to rude staff. And you will get escorted out of bar if you have anything negative to say. Bartender dressed up as “Robin” Saturday night incredibly rude and disrespectful. When called out on his behavior, he had security take us out. Immature and unprofessional, learn to take accountability for your rude actions.
I celebrated my birthday here with 15 guests and booked the room for $100 for 2 hrs. June the bar tender (sunday afternoon shift) had such a bad attitude towards us all from the moment we walked in and was not at all friendly to my guests or me. She made snarky remarks when someone asked her about what the drinks had in them and the drinks were watered and all my guests mentioned that the mimosas were not good compared to our last visit. No champagne and very watered. I tried 2 and it tasted like orange juice. Not a mimosa. $2 mimosas is not a big deal because there are many other places serving happy hour. She acted like she was making drinks from her home bar and she paid for the champagne in the mimosas. Fine, orange juice mimosas were fine too because we were all polite and friendly but I and my guests did not deserve the disrespect. Not acceptable. I won't be celebrating anything here again. Bri was awesome with scheduling and I came back because we had a good time last year with the guy bar tender who was awesome, but June (wears black ponytail ) made our experience horrible. Very disappointed! This will be my last time here. The mics were damaged, the props were old. I am glad we brought our own. The music has limited selection from this mini screen, not like last time where we could type it in YouTube. Kung fu has a good concept, and we enjoyed the arcade games, but needs to do something to change bad staff and maintain your facility or you will continue to lose loyal customers. Very disappointed.
I love the vibe of this place—the music and theme are amazing, and it’s always a fun experience. However, the staff could work on their demeanor to make the atmosphere even better. My main issue is with the dress code. My roommate and I have been here two nights in a row and consistently run into problems with our clothing being called 'too baggy' or otherwise not meeting the code. Frankly, it’s frustrating. Here’s my two cents: if you expect your guests to follow a strict dress code, the same standards should apply to your employees. They are the face of your establishment, yet some of them look like they just rolled out of bed and threw on whatever was on the floor. Why should guests be held to a high standard while the staff isn’t? I enjoy this place and will likely return, but please do better in ensuring consistency and professionalism. It would make the experience that much better for everyone.
