Absolute best ramen in SA. From the dumplings to the bao buns all of it was delicious. This was always the spot for my wife and I to take people who were visiting. So sad to see this place goes but will always have the memories from here.

This is the BEST ramen I have had in Texas. So sad that we were late in the game discovering it (could have had more ramen nights in college). The birria bao buns were to die for. Ive never had anything like them. The ramen was always cooked to perfection and the pork dumplings never disappointed. This was one of those spots that we always took people when they came to town. Its sad that its closed but so happy to have lived in the era that it was opened. Thank you noodle tree for teaching us that joy can come from the little things like enjoying a bowl of ramen while watching Pokémon.

Yesterday; Went to this place and ordered 4 pulled pork bao and got two orders of red miso ramen with me and my partner. Food and service was great. And if you are reading this owner, I wish you well on everything in good health and happiness out there.

Absolutely loved this ramen spot! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and every bite felt comforting and fresh. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to again and again! 100/10 🍜✨

Let’s take this back to April 2019, when we stumbled upon this newly opened shop. The owner Chef Mike took his time to explain the menu and go over alternative options for our 3 year old. Fast forward to 2025, it remains our favorite noodle shop in all of Texas. I know pretty bold statement, but my husband and I have tried many shops and have been disappointed by lack of flavor, atmosphere, attentiveness and quality of their noods and meats. Here I have watched how Chef Mike takes his craft very seriously- it’s respectable knowing that he cares about the quality of his food and how it is being served/presented. I’ve been to places that still serve food that should be trashed. He has always found ways to elevate his dishes all while using high quality ingredients. I truly don’t know where I will find another Hakata Ramen (my favorite ramen on the menu) like his. Aside from the food, the atmosphere is comfortable, with different options for seating and an arcade section that has always made our kids happy after dinner. I cannot recommend noodle tree enough. I have brought friends, family, and co workers to this establishment and they have all left extremely satisfied and return on their own with additional company. It’s like a chain reaction and I love knowing Chef Mike and his dishes have left a great impression on them. I think the best thing about this place aside from the food is knowing that the owner takes so much pride in his establishment that he will greet his tables, take orders, serve, and ensure that they have had a good experience. I hope that whoever comes across this review is convinced to try this place out. 😊 Also edited to add: if you’re new and don’t know what to try, get the Hakata ramen with kick back sauce.

This was the first time visiting Noodle Tree. We received great service from Taylor. She recommended the birria bao. These were excellent. We were informed that customers complain when they run out. We see why; they were fluffy kind of like a pork quesadilla. Make sure to dip in the broth. The ramen was very filling. We had the spicy kimchi ramen. Great taste. I ordered mine without scallions. Make sure to park in the garage in the back. The first floor is marked for retail. We had made a reservation but didn't need it. Try it you'll like it!

Have been pretty happy with the food I’ve had here so far (the birria bao, the tofu, and the kimchi ramen). The ramen was good, though the had to make a substitution of the purple garlic cabbage for corn because they were out. The pork chashu was juicy and flavorful, though it didn’t have what I would consider a more traditional flavor profile and was more reminiscent of like a good pulled pork. Overall, I’d say this ramen is a solid option if you’re in the area. Better than bakudan, imo, but I still prefer Jinya as my favorite ramen spot in San Antonio.

This place was amazing we had the pork dumplings as an appetizer and the tomahawk steak and it was cooked exactly how I like it! The plate was perfect for 2 people we even had leftovers it comes with bao buns, limes, and green sauce. I would give this place ten stars if I could I mean the chef is doing it all on his own he’s amazing I give him so much props for pulling it all off and with great customer service as well. This place has my heart and I highly recommend it!

Best ramen in San Antonio and I mean it. I travel to Japan a lot, and since going to Japan USA ramen just isn’t it. In my opinion, this is as close as it gets when it comes to Japanese ramen flavors. Owner was friendly and very “scratch kitchen” vibe. Friendly staff too, must try.

Very small, casual Ramen noodle spot with excellent service & very tasty food. Don't miss parking garage in apartment complex behind location, there are retail parking spots available. Tables all have tall chairs, so keep in mind for physical limitations. My meal was shared appetizers. Excellent Karage-super crispy chicken & savory sauce. Recommend pan seared dumplings. Yummy pulled pork bao buns--I'll get more than one next time, & companions say biarria buns over the top if you like braised beef cheek, or barbacoa. Too bad shrimp tempura was not avaliable. Also shared Fire Noodle, a variety of spice & sweet, very tasty. Tea was bland. Suggest a few more liquid options. Overall, great, causal & satisfying experience.

We stopped by for lunch on the advice of a local that raved about it. The pork dumplings were good as was her Red Miso ramen. I thought my Kimchi ramen was one of the best ramen bowls I have ever had - the broth was REALLY good..! I ordered mine a little spicier (just below 'sweat' level) and enjoyed it.

Visited today after my hubby recommended, he wanted to try the Menudo Ramen. First, thank you for having vegan options! The Edamame with spice level "First Kick" was super delicious. My husband loved the Medudo Ramen (not vegan) so much he wants to eat here everyday and said Chef Nguyen is a "Smart Man". Great job with the hominy to tripe ratio, the flavor was perfect according to the hubby and was the perceft example of "fusion". I had the pleasure of tasting the Vegan Hakata Ramen recommended by our server. This bowl was packed with Ramen noodles, the most tender pickled ginger , peas, carrots, sesame seeds, bunt garlic all in a vegan broth. The only thing I didn't get to have were the veggie dumplings but this gives me reason to come back! My tummy is full, heart happy and taste buds wanting more. Each table is sanitized before you are seated and carefully checked, yummies available for take out and reservations are highly recommended but not mandatory due to space and capped capacity of 50%.

Everything was great. The Menudo broth was very similar to what my mom makes. The hakata ramen was also very good. The bamboo had an interesting taste too ( not in a bad way) My only issue is the amount of meat on the ramen. I would definitely opt to add extra. We also had the karage and pulled pork boa(not pictured).

Excellent place!! The ramen is so delicious; definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. Broth was very good, noodles were cooked perfectly and all the ingredients blended very well together. I tried the Hakata ramen with pork, Taipei chicken curry ramen, pan fried pork dumplings, sticky wings, and pulled pork baos. The sticky wings were very crunchy and juicy, and had a very unique flavor that I really enjoyed. The pulled pork was very flavorful as well. I’m so glad I tried this place. The chef makes such wonderful foods and I can’t wait to go back!

This is my new favorite in SA! Right when you enter you can tell they care about providing an excellent food and service, and that's what you will get here. The ramen was completely amazing, the dumplings were uniquely exquisite and the Bao buns were carefully prepared to perfection. Try it as soon as you can!

There is finally a good ramen place in San Antonio. The ramen was delicious and presented very well. We got the the miso, hakata, and spicy kimchi ramen. I would recommend going with the "taste" level of spicy for the kimchi ramen. The broth is probably some of the best I've tried. The bao buns are very generous with the fillings and delicious. I would highly recommend checking out this place if you love ramen.

I had the veggie red miso ramen(minus the egg). The broth was very flavorful and the ramen overall was delicious. I ordered the tofu pan seared dumplings, and I felt the tofu wasn’t seasoned enough for my tastes. Some items were not available from the menu on a Sunday night at 6:30pm, alternatives were efficiently offered. There was a long wait for the food (large group right ahead of us likely contributing to it). The waitress was very apologetic, and checked in frequently while we were waiting.

What we ordered: Hakata Ramen. Above average, tasty broth and good noodle texture and tastes but for me, would prefer chashu pork over pulled pork. Love the optional spice which is actually spicy! Truffle Tare Noodle. Added karage chicken. Again good combo and right with the noodle texture, however too much sauce for us which overpowered the other ingredients. Perhaps option on how much sauce for the customer. Overall fun place, good food and service. Unfortunately some items were not available tonight.

Noodle Tree is a newly opened ramen restaurant that shows potential to blossom into an unique gem in San Antonio. The flavors infused in the broths are savory. The quality of the noodle is superb but clumpy. Since it is a fairly new (3 months) restaurant, it still needs to improve in the quantity and cost of food. I went on Saturday for early dinner and the venue was nearly empty. They only have about 4 entrees and 3 appetizers; unfortunately, they had no pulled pork for stemmed buns and chashu needed for two the entrees. Expect to be charged for small amenities like water or spice.

The Ramen was okay. It wasn't very authentic but I don't need authenticity for it to be great. I would say the noodles in the three soups I tried were aldente meaning a little more firm than I was expecting. The peas in my soup weren't cooked well and I don't know if it was intentional or not, it was still good just not great much like the total experience. I don't know why it was rated so high, perhaps it is because the store is located in the college area of San Antonio and college age kids are rating it because they have on average a more limited experience or maybe I don't know what I am talking about and this is the best Ramen ever. I'm am leaning toward my first hypothesis. I will say that the 6 minute egg, as they call it, was incredible and probably made this a three star review instead of two. Also they charged .75 cents to make the soup spicy, I can't recall being charged to make something hotter, that didn't sit well. Anyway, the soup was fine but I don't think i will make the drive again. ***Edit*** I always find it interesting why an owner leaves a rude comment to an honest review. I wasn't trying to be mean just giving my impression of the restaurant. A good owner would take the criticism and use it constructively. Just to be fair, I will take the part out of my review about living in Japan as I can see why living in a country that is world famous for their Ramen may not provide me with any extra insight but I am docking a star for poor customer experience. I also may have gone a bit too far about not making the drive out there again because I may, there seemed to be a really good authentic asian restaurant next door I want to try.
