So only had chips and salsa so can't comment on the food. The beers/ciders and service is amazing. The owner is so sweet and informed! I love it and the artwork in the bathroom is worth it alone. Plus dog friendly and they have a photo wall/post of the dogs that come here. Overall, good drinks and have canned beers to take home. I got some merchandise, the hoodies are so comfy!

May and June gloom. The time of onshore flow. If you live in the 92102 area code. And it's the gloomy late spring early summer split. It's slightly drizzly? Go grab a cup of beef stew and corn bread muffins (so savory and sweet) from Ale Tales Taproom and Kitchen . The beefstew hits the spot. It's warm and chunky and has a heat on the back of the swallow that warms you in only the way that san diego can. Is it chilly? Did they add chili to compensate so you feel warm? Yes, they did. Did they put some sort of glaze on the petite 2 bite corn bread muffins? Yes they did. And they let my dog hang out with me with her own bowl? Yes they did. Do they have intentionally women owned breweries on tap? Yes they do. Do they have a wall of beer coolers full of hyper specific breweries that I want to try? Yes they do.

This is a cool bar in east village if you're looking for a beer and pub food. You will not be coming here expecting to find the best burger or wings in town but instead a solid bar with good vibes, good staff, and surpringly some real good fries.

Great place to just chill and try new beers. They have a constantly rotating draft list to keep things fresh. The bartender is super helpful. Good prices, with an amazing to go selection. Also there's a fancy grilled cheese place kitchen for the hungry people.

I. Love. Ale Tales Taproom. Their beer selection is excellent, they have good food (grilled cheese and other sandwiches. Vegan options clearly labeled!) And the service is great. Drink beer, take cans/bottles to go, and join the running club that meets here on Wednesdays. Omg yes.

My favorite craft beer bar in San Diego. The staff (especially Jes) is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. A great variety of beers on tap and an impressive selection of cans and bottles to go. A must visit spot for craft beer fans.

Beer trifecta: very good selection (both draft and cans/bottles), menu listed on Untappd, and they offer flights.

Didn't realize they were closed but they still let us pee and let my husband buy a can of booze! Best bathroom decor ever!!

Great selection of beers on tap and bottles/cans for sale to go or for small corkage fee to drink there.

Food is bomb, especially their brisket nachos and chicken sandwich and the rootbeer. They're too busy sometimes to answer their phones 🙄, but management and service are extremely nice. 😊

You're buggin if you love craft beer and craft eats and won't come here.. like it's unreal. Some beers run a pretty penny but it's beyond worth it. Staff makes you feel at home, kitchen is always running and have never had a bad experience here ever. Owners are very involved and theirs always something cool going on. You can't come in here and not spend money because theirs 3 walkin coolers organized with a bunch of crazy craft beer to-go! They do special full course meals at least once every 2 weeks that you can pre order.. yes full course. They offer Mug Club membership and also have a full wine rack for sale of some cool stuff. ALSO ALSO ALSO DOGGY FRIENDLY. Review sounds biased I'm sure but I rarely go out of my way to submit reviews and I'm telling you as a dude that drinks beer all over on a regular... this is a joint you gotta get down with!!

I really don’t get the bad reviews… I’ve been coming here almost every week for almost a year now… it’s always a great time, any food that I have tried has always been fresh, hot and tasty. The beer selection is immense and delicious (get the bad apple cider… it’s the bees knees). I feel like anyone that had a bad experience… was a Karen 😂 or privileged. The owner is the best, super kind and has a great sense of humor. The other girl that gets behind the bar is also super nice and attentive. The bar is always clean and the regulars are also nice and welcoming. It’s almost like your family bar. I’ve had nothing but good vibes and energy ANY time I come. Try the fries, wings, tenders, burgers and the brisket… it’s all good… you won’t regret coming here

Came here back in December, returned again on another trip to San Diego now. A very relaxing place to hang out with friends and enjoy a few beers or wine on tap. They have an extensive draft beer selection and also a large fridge of to go options on the side. Love that the to go options are available in single cans so you can mix and match. They offer flights here, so both times I’ve gotten a flight of IPA and sours. Delicious options and good range. We ordered a hard seltzer today and it was more smoothie like, very surprising in a good way. Friends got the wings and said it tasted a bit over seasoned unfortunately, but it smelled amazing. To be fair, there’s many finger food options as well as burger and salad options. Outdoor seating available and dog friendly environment with water bowls for the dogs. Highly applaud the service here. Friendly and helpful, it’s always a pleasure to walk in and not scary at all to ask questions. Would come back again if in the area.

After an exhausting day of moving into our new building, my amazing friend and I decided to treat ourselves with a much-needed breather—and stumbled into a delightful surprise: it was Monday Happy Hour at Ale Tales Taproom and Kitchen! We ordered the Chicken Strips and Fries, Garlic Honey Chicken Wings, a beer (wish I remembered which one my friend chose!), and I opted for a bottled root beer. Let me just say—the food was top notch. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot after a long day. The Garlic Honey Wings especially stood out—perfectly crispy with just the right balance of sweet and savory. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it the ideal spot to unwind. We didn’t plan it, but this happy hour turned out to be the perfect end to a chaotic day. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great bites, chill vibes and genuinely positive kind staff!

Amazing beer selection, probably some of the best in San Diego. Staff is super nice and the food is great as well. All around, a great place for really good beer. One downside is sitting inside here feels sort of like sitting in a cafeteria. There is little comfort in sitting on a metal stool, at a concrete bar, with the lights at 100% at night. This would be an amazing hang out spot in the neighborhood but we cannot really sit here for more than a beer or two without feeling like a change in atmosphere is needed.

I am not sure what’s wrong with the lady but clearly she woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Acted annoyed for my call and inquiry. Was rude and condescending. Will never do a charity event here or even try to. Very disappointed
