Roberto's Taco Shop San Diego Reviews
I stopped by Roberto’s Taco Shop and it was a solid place for classic San Diego-style Mexican food. The burrito was big, flavorful, and very satisfying. The atmosphere was casual and the service was quick, which is perfect when you just want a fast meal. It’s a good spot if you’re craving tacos or a hearty burrito.
I had the carne asada what I was here and what can I say man they definitely know what they're doing this place is incredible I truly think this is one of the 7 wonders of the world
Very Good place , especially if your in a hurry like I usually am.... Love Classic Quick Serve Mexican Food drive throughs like this ,and they don't skimp on the portions here. Nap time after a Cali burrito for sure.
Not all Roberto's are created equal. I've gone to a few of their locations and they are all inconsistent and taste COMPLETELY different to each other. That said, this location may be my favorite, following close would be Mission Valley, and this location makes the best Carne Asada.
I’ve been coming to Roberto‘s for longer than most of you have been alive. So last Thursday night, it was very busy and I did a drive-through order, Carne Asada burrito and the side of carrots, paid for it got home looked in the bag and I got someone else’s order … which might’ve been not too bad … except it was three roll tacos, drenched in extra sour cream, not my thing. So five days later, I got a chance to come back and I had to call and talk to Jessica who’s is the customer service person …. anyhow, I’m getting my burrito and carrots … nice place, nice people, highly recommended. Note: walk up window orders, no inside dining, outside tables or drive through.
This taco shop is a nice little small centrally located spot. It is drive thru mostly but they have a walk up counter and few outdoor tabled. They have great flavorful.. I would definitely recommend the Pollo asada fries. They are literally one of the best in San Diego no other taco shops can compare
The service is very quick and efficient and the woman at the window is always super friendly. Now, let's talk about those rolled tacos LOL. My goodness! I will have to say that those babies are 🔥 🔥! Honestly, I've enjoyed everything I've had at this place. The regular crispy tacos are good as well as the cheese enchiladas and carne asada fries. Both red and green sauces are delicious but the green one is my personal favorite. You really can't go wrong getting something at this Roberto's location.
I wish I would’ve come to this place sooner. We’re deep into this terrible political climate and inflation. So I was expecting corners to be cut in every facet possible. However this place still has generous proportions! The food was amazing. Flavor perfect. Definitely coming back more often.
Mediocre Mexican food! $18 for a burrito. Humbertos is better and priced fairly. The burritos at Humbertos are bigger and great for what you pay. Here the burritos are overpriced burritos.
Hmm... Not my favorite place. It's exactly what it looks like in photos. But the flavors aren't really there. Service was lovely and fast so that's what the two stars are for. Unfortunately, I probably wouldn't come back. It was regular shredded cheese and tons of ice berg lettuce. Like other reviewers said, I drenched mine in hot sauce to make it more enjoyable. The guac also didn't seem fresh which was disappointing.
I asked for green hot sauce and the cash register girl told it's in the bag only to find out it's all red hot sauce 🤮🤮
I’m pretty disappointed by my experience here and I think this review should serve as a warning to not purchase anything on your debit or credit card. I was charged exactly 20% more than my receipt shows on my credit card. Just enough for people not to notice, but in this economy, I notice. I called the restaurant to get this remedied and they put me in touch with the owner, Jessica. I have her cell phone number now, completely useless because she not does not respond to me. I was extremely understanding and we had (what I thought) a productive conversation. “We had someone new” okay, accidents happen. She then turned to her husband and asked how to remedy the situation and he said to do a refund. This was on a Saturday and the credit card processor wasn’t open until Monday. Totally understand! This was 2 months ago. I’ve followed up respectfully multiple times. No response. I’ve attached the receipt and reported fraudulent charges. Pretty silly over something that could have been resolved with a pretty patient customer. Jessica, you really disappointed me as a fellow business owner. Shame on you. Also, while I never mentioned it to Jessica for the sake of respect, the food really was terrible and I never got the side of sour cream I paid for. TLDR: Please check your receipts, this business charges fraudulently.
for such a middle of the road taco shop, they sure don’t value making money. i just stood in the rain for 15 minutes, while they all looked at me and didn’t bother to take my order. meanwhile maybe three cars passed? anyways, this was my last time coming here after 5 years of business. Rays taco shop the next block over is better in every way.
A slap in the face for consumers to charge $14.82 for such a small portion of carne asada fries and for it to taste super salty. I'm done with Roberto's, food quality and portion aren't the same plus the prices went up. I understand if portion stayed the same and prices went up but it doesn't make sense that the portion is now so small and barely any meat + the price is now so high. No more of giving our money away to these people.
We got food and I'm so disappointed this place used to be good! My chicken quesadilla had very little cheese, was super soggy and laid in a bed of water, probably from the soggy bell peppers and onions. Quesadillas require cheese! I will never eat here again!! And the beans are over fried!
