Sushi Lounge San Diego Reviews
Simple hand rolls are my go too and this place definitely delivered. Good amount of rice, fish, and cucumber. Topped with a nice draft beer at the bar, ill definitely be back for more.
I’ve been here a few times and I’ve really enjoyed everything. They have consistently fresh food and a really good variety of rolls. Their Miso soup and Fried Pork Gyoza are great to start with. Really yummy Yellowtail Nigiri as well as Salmon Nigiri. They don’t have a parking lot but I’ve found street parking every time. Definitely one of my go to spots for sushi now!
Coolest place for an easy happy hour, great vibe. Nathan was super helpful and overall awesome server. Definitely coming back soon.
Sushi Lounge Point Loma is easily one of the good sushi spots in San Diego. The rolls are super fresh, beautifully plated, and pretty consistent. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I especially enjoyed their specialty rolls and lunch deals. Highly recommend if you want great sushi with a good atmosphere in Point Loma.
The food was amazing, it was flavorful and you can taste the fresh ess of the fish. We had a party of 12, 5 kids 7 adults and nobody at the table had a complaint and found something they could enjoy. Me and my wife ordered a jalapeno appetizer the lazy chef the spider roll and the happy wife and it was all gone before we left.
One of the best sushi places! We live 2 hours away from Point Loma but we have a place in San Diego we visit when we can. We come here. They have a great happy hour. Other times we didn't make the happy hour but still I feel their prices are pretty good. The sushi is excellent, melts in your mouth. They also have teriyaki bowls and plates. Great location, small place, which I love. Service is great, very friendly, fun environment.
Great vibes and delicious food! Enjoyed ourselves a teriyaki chicken box with so much food! Photos show you the menu for what’s in the box. We also had two sushi rolls “Zest Diego” and “Chronic Roll“ that was also fulfilling and we all shared. Family friendly as well. I just adored the plants outside as well.
My favorite sushi restaurant when visiting San Diego for work. Sushi is delicious 🤤 and service is fast and friendly. Lunch specials are a great price and hand rolls and sashimi are awesome too. 10% off for military is great too. See you next time. My favorites are spicy scallops hand rolls and spice tuna 🍣 rolls and sashimi squid. 🦑
What a great spot! Reasonably priced, large menu and good sushi! We had the yellow tail sashimi and I would definitely recommend! Probbaly my favorite. The miso soup was surprisingly good too. We got two rolls to share. We got thr tsunami, which wasn't my favorite.. and we also go the hot wife roll.. I probably wouldn't order either of the rolls again and would like to try other rolls. The server was also super nice :)
Pros: Their entire menu sounds tasty, I could get seated right away on a friday night, I liked the miso soup with sliced mushrooms, the shrimp ebi shumai I will get again, it’s a unique take on it, with a thick creamy sauce, the prices are reasonable for lunch (2 rolls and soup for about $18) and service is nice! Cons: the real crab was dry and not very flavorful or juicy/sweet, the wasabi was hard. Return visit- tried the crispy rice (so good) and chronic roll on special Mondays, loved the salmon roll and shrimp tempura without krab.
Got off a work trip late and wanted to find something that was in the area of my hotel. It was easy to find right off the corner. Upon arriving not very many people but nice crowd. Menus were very sticky… please clean your menus. Good variety of rolls to choose from. I like how you can scan the menu and see actual pictures of what you want to order. It does take a while for you to get food but this my favorite can’t The spider hand roll was pretty tasty. It had a a lot of avocado but still good. The house salad could’ve used more of the ginger dressing. That miso soup was the star of the show. So good and flavor. So hot and everything. I would come back just for this. The rolls were great. They had a good variety to choose from. No shade they were slow. We didn’t a refill until we were about it to leave. But over good experience here I will back, lll
Good, reasonably priced sushi in a friendly atmosphere. Edit 1/15/24 Back again, This time my experience was next to perfect! My server Jane was super helpful, and attentive and did it with an incredible smile ( even if it was behind a mask😁). The food came out super fast and tasty. All and all a great experience 👍
Awesome place nice outside bar. I was there 11-7-20 An there only outside dinning I've been there when we can come inside an the at it was great lots of people.Drinks an sushi is always a good time. The people who work there are helpful an very friendly. When I'm in Point Loma I go there for the good times
Sushi was bland and you couldnt taste much without the sauce. The toro(2 piece) for 14 wasnt much either The calamari/miso was still warm after a 15 min drive
In town on work travel and had an opportunity to have a late lunch at Sushi Lounge on Rosecrans. It was a nice 60 degree day (compared to snowing in MD) so my co-worker and I decided to sit at their outside bar. I ordered a bento box and it was great! Very fresh ingredients and the portions were huge! Although I only ordered lemonade the bartender was very friendly and conversational. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying dinner on the inside to get a full feel of the place.
I had lunch here a couple of weeks ago. I’ve probably eaten here six times. This time is was really bad. Everything that was cooked or fried was soggy. The shrimp tempura rolls were soggy and terrible and the unagi nigiri - which should have been warm and crispy on the edges was floppy and wet. They had clearly cooked everything well in advance and had it sitting around before serving it. Don’t waste your time or money going here.
My friend and I went here for lunch and both got the sushi roll combo that comes with two rolls of our choice. I got the unagi roll and spider roll, while my friend got the unagi roll and spider roll. Although the rolls had decent presentation, there was barely any fish. The majority of the rolls were imitation crab, avocado, cucumber, and rice. Instead of skimping on fish, I'd rather them increase the prices. Ultimately, we paid $17 for each plate containing mostly rice and vegetables with a bite of fish. We definitely will not be visititing again.
First time I ever ate here. I Ordered online pickup and food took longer than expected. Host was not very nice. Food portions are very small , (edamame, miso soup.) the stuffed jalapeño was gross.sorry to say I’m never coming back here .
