I like coming here especially on Saturdays. I feel really safe and accepted here. Bartenders are great and security as well. Entertainment is also fun and exciting. Its like the rail I knew in 1991,1992
I went to For the Drag of IT for the first time and sober Loved the event, staff, and the bar service Not only was the show amazing but I was able to select different mocktails and non alcoholic drinks
Okay to be blank this was a real cool chill club, we got to pop up on old school r&b night, now as the DJ could be a little bit better just due to the fact that his voice was louder than the music lmao no hate tho my guy. I will definitely be back because the atmosphere was so cool, everybody was so chill and I actually got hit on by a stud and I'm a dude so that felt pretty good, confirmed that I was indeed handsome lol. Overall will def be back here again to kick it with my people's and the incredible energy that they bring. 1ne Love my beautiful ppl
The Rail is the oldest gay bar in San Diego. It has moved a few times over the years, but they just celebrated 90 years. Management is very hands on, so you are guaranteed an excellent experience! Great events and there's almost always something new. Definitely go for their Saturday Happy Hour? You can't beat those prices anywhere!
Roberto and his beautiful eyes can Rail me any time. Lol
Roberto is the man, great customer service and a total pro. Gave me great drink recommendations and provided excellent hospitality. We will be back. 10/10
The Brass Rail never disappoints! The ambience is always lively, welcoming, and full of great energy. A huge shoutout to Urbano, the owner — his leadership, warmth, and passion truly make this place special. You can feel the care he puts into every detail. And of course, Mama Chancla brings the heart, humor, and vibrant personality that make the atmosphere unforgettable. One of the best spots in San Diego. Highly recommend! 🌟

A modern, airy bar. The bartenders are very friendly, and the bar seems to have several ongoing events. I typically go in the later afternoon so the vibe is a little more chill but I know it also gets very busy at night, more of a club. So there’s something for everyone.
The bartenders were quick and sociable. Wasn’t really a busy night so it was not hard to get anything from bar. Watch a great show with good ppl around. The lighting in the bar was very chill and not too flashy. Didn’t try any food since we ate before coming out. Definitely would come back again.
Stopped by during the day time for some day drinking with friends. Place was ok. They've remodeled and you definitely notice it right away. The day we visited was a Saturday afternoon. They had a drink and draw event going on. Made the place feel livelier. Overall it was a good place to stop by to cool down, hang with friends, and drink.

It was a chill spot. A friend was performing there and all and all it was a great time. It's a quaint spot with a lot of chill folks working there. The only complaint is the parking is find your own spot on the street somewhere, but It wasn't busy when I got there so it wasn't a big problem. The bartender was chill, they have the single person bathrooms which means you'll do some waiting when it gets busy, but hey, you didn't come to use the restroom, right? I'd go back for sure though. Cool spot.
I've been here twice; once when it was totally packed, and once when it was nearly empty before their main event began. This place will obviously be very loud, but the performances tend to be fun and the themes are nice! I've only had a few simple drinks from here, but they were nice. Can be a little pricey as they will sometimes have overhead fees, but the free bathroom condoms could make up for that depending on who you are. Oh, and the bathrooms are all gender, which is a big plus in my opinion (shorter lines). They had an attendant in there, too. I'd come back!

We came in because of the deal they had advertised but I think it was misleading. They had one that said $8 for a pitcher but the pitcher is the size of a glass and they charged more anyway. That wouldnt have been too bad since its still a bit of a deal but the staff was very rude (which is something I never say). When we asked for the $8 pitcher and he asked which one, we said the one that was $8, he said he still needed to know, so we got the hazy. When he gave us a higher bill, we asked why it wasnt $8 and he said "tell me what you got" multiple times even when we asnwered to drill in that it was a hazy and not whatever the other one was even though we originally tried to order it. Overall I think we probably just had a one off bad experience but I probably wont be back.
A club soda in a Negroni?! It’s obvious this bar only does vodka clubs… so late 90’s… sticky bathroom and before main hours? No bueno… :( at least the service is fun and friendly :/

Went with my friends from out of town. Arrived at 930. They had an event with a cover . Okay. The guys who said they were running the event were too busy touch feeling my friend. I mentioned it and was told " it's part of being gay Gurl friends. "???.... The drinks were good and delicious. When we left we were greeted with a big thank you from a thin average security person ? In a black jacket. Drinks and friendly bar and security staff. But tell the event people that touching a person down there is disrespectful.
The drinks are good. I brought a female friend in . Immediately the other customers were saying women don't belong here. Calling each other the C word. You tell the staff the just say it's part of how we live

It is diabolical how loud this club/bar plays their music till 2am. They can easily prevent it by closing their windows so it doesn’t wake up the whole neighborhood but they choose not to.
I needed help after the club closed. I had no phone and was a 30 min drive from home with no cash on me. I asked one of the security guys who worked there to call someone for me so I could at least have someone come get me. He replied, “you see I just got off work right?” And walked away. Never ever again. Thankfully some nice bartenders from Number One down the street stopped and helped me and let me use their phone when I want even at their bar that night. The Rail has some horrible employees working there.
