Comstock Saloon San Francisco Reviews
Love the ambience and the drinks. The balcony has live jazz music playing andI have to say, the servers are super fashionable.
A San Francisco gem with quite possibly the best gin martinis in the city. There are great bites and often live music.
Unbelievable cocktail joint with a vintage vibe and excellent staff. Oysters were great and served with a delicious minionette or an awesome smokey home make hot sauce. I make a point to stop in here every time I'm in San Francisco if I can make an excuse to do so!
We had a great time here❤️ The service was too good. It was super crowded when we went, but still their service was spot on. Couldn’t have asked for better. The food was also very yum! The vibes of the place will carry you to the 1900’s Thank you for this beautiful experience✨
Very unique place with a lot of history and some of the best craft cocktails I’ve ever had. The bartender took his time with each drink, making sure each was just right. With two drinks, you get a free light lunch on Fridays. It was corn chowder the day we went, which was phenomenal, but not hearty enough to soak up the two strong drinks. We added some fries and bacon wrapped dates yo have a little more on our stomach for walking around. It’s really worth reading the history of this old Jewish barbershop that was preserved and made into a destination. It’s wild to think everything this building has endured. If these walls could talk!
A wonderful bar offering a variety of drinks and special cocktails. We let the barkeeper choose our drink which is always fun to see the creativity flow. I have never been disappointed. On the contrary I was always delighted. We also went for some delicious Kaviar and oysters. Fresh and breathtaking!
We walked in without a reservation and no expectations. What a delightful surprise. The service was superb, from the Host to the bar tender to our server. The food was delicious and came out quickly. To our surprise they had a gluten free empanada. Also the architecture and decor will delight. We highly recommend going on for a drink, a meal, live music and looking around.
My favorite bar in the city! Felix is one the wonderful servers here along with Mr. Happy and the entire bar staff. Live music nearly every night and the best cocktails I’ve ever had in SF. 10/10 would recommend, have recommended, and have thrown a few parties here. There free lunch is worth every cocktails SM the ambiance brings you back to the early 1900’s. Their food is delicious, the burger is one of my favorites along with the salmon puffs. You cannot go wrong here! Check it out if you have the time and coin to spare.
It’s rare to be so impressed by cocktails and this was definitely the case for me and my friends. This is a fantastic space to spend time sipping cocktails, especially with great live music as we had last Friday. Every time I come here, as soon as I leave I start planning to go back.
Fave bar in San Francisco¡ Again for the second time and I'm so glad to see that made it through the pandemia. The service continues being excellent, the drinks super well prepared and they had a free delicious soup free for two drinks. Bartender's are super nice. The place continues to be the same with a great bar and wood boots. They have a band that plays regularly. I don't remember the days they play, but it's almost every day! Great surprise to be in here again. Will visit again and every time I visit San Francisco.
We stumble upon this classic looking bar while strolling along North Beach / Chinatown. And now it becomes our favorite bar. The bartender Kent is a super skillful mixologist. Tell him what you feel like, and he will make you a delicious drink that is both surprising and delightful. The food was also excellent. The caviar bite is totally out of this world even though it's a $10 bite. Most importantly the vibe is totally cool. The classic and historic look of this bar totally bring you back to the 1900s. We will definitely come back again and would highly recommend it.
Just randomly walked by and decided to give it a try and it's awesome. Most of the stars goes to our bartender Kent, now he's my favorite bartender in San Francisco. We actually ordered some cocktails not on the menu, instead of giving us the most easy Margarita, Kent actually made us 3 different kinds of tequila which is rarely to see on a bar menu. And it's tasty. Food is surprisingly good as well. Can't wait to go back to try the caviar bite. And the uniforms of the style somehow made us feel like London in a short moment Now it's my favorite bar in SF.
A cool cozy place to grab a drink. The bar is the place to be at. The Boothy (bourbon, sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters, and bubbly) was my Cocktail choice of the night. What's interesting is that they have a rare bottle list that they will sell (but the prices are a bit steep in my opinion). Overall, cool place to stop by for a drink.
4/5 for one thing, and one thing only: the fantastic live band on an inside balcony that's always playing great jazz. The rest: nice interior, nice staff, slightly below average drinks.
We met our in-laws at Comstock Saloon for an early dinner / happy hour. They were in town for the Grateful Dead concert at Oracle Park. We had a group of 11 so they found a couple of tables in the back just below the piano player upstairs. Lots of drinks going around and every one complimented the tasty cocktails. I had a Reality Check Pilsner beer. The food menu was eclectic and we had the following items: Comstock Burger & Fries 3/5 husk ok $21 Skirt steak with chimichurri 4/5 Oysters 4/5 $3.50 each Salmon and potato puffs 3/5 Donuts with ice cream 5/5 had to order a couple more best item The Comstock Saloon is located near the corner of Columbus and Kearney. It's filled with wooden booths. Service was ok. The nearest parking lot is Portsmouth garage.
Update: needed a place to meet up before our dinner reservations and this was a convenient location. We just made it for happy hour. Interestingly, I was the only one out of the group who had been there before. 3 out of the 8 even lived in North Beach. We’re all longtime SF residents of 25+ years. Glad that I could surprise a few folks. I’ve always walked by this bar/restaurant but never went in. It's always crowded after work. Came here for lunch on Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't crowded. They ran out of oysters the night before. The fries were crispy and came with homemade ranch. I didn't want and eggy meal so I ordered tres leche toast which was more of a dessert than a meal exactly as our waitress warned me. (Okay by me as I wasn't super hungry.) My cousin ordered char siu bao with eggs benedict that was very rich. Yummy!!!
Came here on a Sat evening for my husband's bday with a group. Unfortunately, the service we received was unprofessional and unacceptable. - An older staff member approached our group and made a demeaning comment, referring to us as a "colorful bunch." If you wanted us to move to a different area, you could’ve told us directly instead of being passive aggressive. - The bartender with the long mustache was also rude and unhelpful. When I asked for a list of beers on tap, was basically scoffed at. Gave same attitude to our group as well. We get it’s a cocktail bar, but no need to be rude if we don’t want to order that. Despite being the only patrons in the smaller back room, we were treated poorly. Our entire group and I are not returning. Beware of the terrible customer service here.
