Visited here for lunch with friends, ordered veg nachos, chicken fajita and veg quesadillas with few beers from the tap. Service was good. Food was very tasty.

My husband and I stumbled across this place and it was a pleasant surprise. Restaurant has a bar vibe so I was not expecting much from the food. The michelada was delicious and the cerviche was amazing! Lots of shrimp and octopus- was not expecting this. We will have to come back and try the other dishes!

Heck of a good Michelada 🍺 with plenty of powder & spice dripping from the rim and in the glass they add a combination of Worcester, Clamato, Tapatio, and a house special blend served in an ice cold goblet. The ceviche was also very good with a big portion of pulpo 🐙 (octopus). Nice space overall with friendly staff and the tunes you would expect in such a restaurant including soccer channel ⚽️ permanently on the tv. The quesabirria is also a sizzling masterpiece of flavor.

Amazing food! The portion sizes were very large and prices super reasonable. You can tell everything is made in-house. Would highly recommend.

Authentic Mexican run by a really nice family. We had fajitas + nachos, and it was too good to stop even when we were full!

Soup was FANTASTIC- the meat was so tender and the broth was seasoned to perfection. Lots of love went into that soup. Homemade chips and salsa also were a hit and there salsa picante had a very complimentary flavor with the dishes. Would recommend for anyone looking for some authentic, heart warming, soup

So glad to have found this restaurant that served great food that opening late at night when all of other restaurants closer to Mission Street had long lines or closed after the Day of the Dead festival and we were starving. The price was great, too. The menu was in Spanish only (must be authentic, right?) but we kind of figured it out. The location is further down from the busy Mission but probably easier to find parking. There are buses that run along 24th and Bryant Streets. Will visit again if I am in the neighborhood.

The soup here is phenomenal. I was craving some since it's been soup weather and the caldo de rez took me back to my abuelas cooking. The tacos are hella good too. Worth the trip.

Excellent food, good service. Garlic shrimp plate was mighty tasty. Tacos + chicken enchiladas plate was also very good. Lots of options to choose from.

Super good. Super good burrito, beer, chips, and salsa. The beer was bottles, and the burrito was knife and fork instead of wrapped in foil, and it was still awesome. Up with this place!

Great food in a low key atmosphere. I had the fajitas which were amazing. Prices also easy on the family budget.

Fresh flowers on each table. They make their own tortilla chips and bring them to your table warm, while you wait for your food.

Tried El Tomate when our favorite taquería was closed on Christmas. The food was very tasty and authentic. It did take a long time for service but that could have been because of the holiday. They should fix their tables. I noticed at least three that were very wobbly. Would recommend and plan to go again!

Very relaxed, casual setting for good food. Fresh tortilla chips were a bonus. Steak fajitas were OK, meat wasn't great but the chicken was great!

New review: Keep walking. The menu may be the same, but the quality has gone downhill over time. Reheated food; frozen food? It is funky... maybe it's me and my guests, but the last 2 times here was enough, especially for the quality/value proposition... no need to go back. There are plenty of other authentic places offering home-style Mexican meals.

I am going to have to say it was the cook who was terrible. We have came here in the past and the portions are well and flavor is good. But i must say today was terrible. I am not ok with paying 73.00 dollars and the portions were mediocre, the service was terrible and the meat was all chewy and dry. Wont be coming back unless i see the old cook.
