We came for breakfast but we saw the bahn-mi and couldn’t stop ourselves. It was so delicious! Fresh bread and such a great and tender lemon grass chicken with great vegetables and seasoning, we are so happy we chose it. Would definitely recommend this one 🙌🏼❤️

New favorite cafe? I've been meaning to come here for a while and I'm glad I finally did. On a foggy SF morning I was warmly welcomed into the unassuming cafe, where there was no line and the polite cashier waited while I contemplated my order. As a vegan, I was very happy to see soy milk as an option for my drink and tofu for the banh mi. Just make sure to ask if there's aioli on the sandwich when ordering! Both were delicious, Contraband beans for my decaf latte and more of a tofu skin than regular tofu for my sandwich (pleasant surprise!). The price was very reasonable for Polk St. I wish I lived closer because Fueling Station is an absolute gem.

Great place, the food is delicious and the drinks even better !! We had a quiche Lorraine, salmon toast and Java coffee, Amish Palmer.

Hands down the most welcoming cafe I’ve discovered in SF so far. All the staff are super nice, especially Lulu! Great menu items at a very good price. The Focaccia bread on Fridays is phenomenal! Definitely worth stopping by if you’re near the Polk street area.

It's a great place, everyone is super nice and the food and coffee is great. The egg and avocado sandwich is the best. Really tasty and keeps you full for a long while. I tried the waffle and it was delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of whipped cream, but the one they use was soft (not dense as from the can).

This place for me is a little gem. The owner is very friendly, the food is delicious, and the people watching is great. Definitely enjoy the chagga-chino and the pork bahn mi.

My favorite Cafe on Polk St Russian Hill! Food is so fresh, healthy, and made well! Service is friendly neighborhood care and the staff and owners are super hard working and on point! I love everything I eat here. I prefer to sit outside to get sun but inside is lovely to eat and read and meet friends. The only drawback are when people "WFH" are noisy on their calls but we make do with our own earbuds. I should've taken pics before eating but chagaccino and avocado toast w veggies & poached egg looked too good to wait!

We had a lovely breakfast with the folks at Fueling Station. The Banh Mi was lovely. Understated but carefully crafted flavor and texture to the carrots, cucumber, and chicken. And a perfect, wonderful light warmth from the spice in the sauce. Great recommendation by the owner. The banana bread made in house (which the owner made today and offered the recipe for) was excellent and moist - totally reminiscent of my grandmother’s banana bread. We also had a hot Chaga drink, a cold chaga drink, and a cortado, all with milk alternatives (oat and coconut). Served in for-here glasses/mugs by default. Lovely presentation and flavor. A slight aside: the iced chaga doesn’t seem to get cold quickly perhaps because of the thickness of the liquid. Definitely interested in these functional additives for coffee. The owner was very personable and was the primary worker in the shop with 3 others. We own a coffee shop on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and I sat inside to observe the coffee process. From what little I did observe (audibly), the owner’s milk steaming is smooth - no frothing, no screaming. I think we made her nervous, telling her we had our own shop, so she offered to bring the cortado. She needed to dial the espresso in again (boy can we appreciate that). She apologized for the wait and even gifted us a bag of their house/espresso roast for the wait. Would definitely recommend The Fueling Station. Great product, place, and people. Our first experience of the day in SF…and one of the best - certainly the best coffee experience.

The place is quiet and nice. Has seating inside and outside. The owner Lily and her mother Annie are so sweet! The coffee is amazing and their pastries are fresh. The vegan loafs are so good. We got the banana nut loaf which was super moist. Very family oriented, kid and pet friendly The chocolate chip cookie my son got was also very soft and delicious. Thank you for your hospitality and service. Nice to meet you both ❤️

Amazing range of coffeeshop meals, great attention to detail. Very friendly staff. Pleasant space to sit for a while, does not feel like a place to work for an extended period though - the seating and setup is not conducive and comfortable (too large shared tables, a fairly noisy space). Planning to come here again for a quick meal when I'm in the area.

Food 5/5 The Chagacchino (Chaga cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, and monk fruit sweetener) was delightful. Quiche was savory and fresh. Service 5/5 The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. Physical space/ ambiance 5/5 The cafe is spacious with two tables a tall and a normal height one. Some outdoor seating and smaller personal tables. The place was clean and tidy. Will definitely return.

Best mocha I’ve had in town so far and the breakfast sandwich is fantastic. I’ve been here three times now and it’s perfect every time. I don’t understand why this place is empty while a block away st franks has a line out the door.

I come here for their house made chai. No sugar added. It’s so good and I can choose what dairy alternative. It’s a rare find to get house made unsweetened. Thank you!!

I ate here for lunch in my first full day in San Francisco. It is very well priced for the area. I’ve had the drip coffee which was smooth and cheap which was exactly what I was looking for. I also had a chicken Bah Minh which was good quality made with care. The chicken was ok not exactly what I was looking or hoping for for but still good and the service was fantastic. Very friendly and personable. I would recommend if you are visiting the nearby famous Lombard Street.

Neighborhood cafe, with breakfast-lunch options and customizable banh mi. Tasty egg sandwich served on English muffin, with choice of meat and cheese. Coffee from a local SF producer (Contraband) is almost chocolaty — excellent. Interior, however, doesn’t particularly standout. Go for food and drink and work tables.

Tried this cafe because it’s nearby our hotel in SF. The food was good but the portion was quite small and for the price, I think it’s quite pricey. The seatings inside were nice. Their restroom was a bit clogged. There was water all over the floor and I hope they fix it soon because it’s pretty serious. One of the servers was very nice. He gave us a lot of butter when requested.

I live in the neighborhood. This place can be real hit or miss. Nice when the other crowded places are super full, because it is a bit out of the way and not as busy, but the service is very much a crap shoot. Today's adventure was the woman taking the order could not understand "croissant with scrambled egg and bacon". It took 4 attempts for her to understand the request. Once we thought we had the order, the item was prepared without ingredients. Fine, mistakes happen. But then the person proceeded to try to argue the point. Finally she relented and prepared the item correctly (i.e. put bacon on the sandwich, nothing fancy). This isn't the first time this has happened. They clearly are having a hard time hiring competent staff when the owner isn't there. I would use this place as a backup going forward if other places are too busy and. you just need a coffee, but given the issues not make it the main place you bring someone if you need things to actually work.

The place is close to Francisco Bay Inn, with a bus stop nearby, so the location is pretty convenient. The food was mediocre (we had bagels). The chai latte was either badly made or just tastes like spicy foamy water…either way, it was undrinkable. The place has potential, but some more effort is necessary.

I’ve recently been really into Vietnamese coffee and saw this place online and wanted to try it. The service here is disappointing and my Vietnamese coffee tasted more like a watered down americano with a little bit of sugar. I initially walked into this cafe which had maybe like 6 people already situated with their food/drinks and were sitting down. I said good morning to the staff, and in return, I was stared at until she continued to make coffees; she didn’t say anything to me. Stood at the register without being acknowledged for several minutes, mind you, the woman making coffees was 2-3 ft away at this point, kinda awkward. No one ordered after me. When she called my order for 2 Vietnamese coffees, I approached the counter and she asked how she can help… as if i wasn’t the last customer who’s order she took, and just called out saying it was ready. Most likely would not return. The vibes are very off here.
