This place is such a gem. I have been getting lunch from this spot for a couple years since I moved into the area, always appreciating their working class prices and variety of specials for lunch. But ever since I had their knock-your-socks-off pumpkin pie (not even a big pumpkin pie fan), I started to give their cakes more of a go. Now I always volunteer to be the person to bring the cake to the birthday parties and everyone is always delighted. This is a feel good business to support. I hope they continue to do what they do for a long time to come.

You can definitely tell they are trying what they can to keep business flowing. They have a solid set up outside in the back and the cashier gentleman was courteous and helpful. I was running onto my next thing, so I only grabbed a blueberry scone but it felt well balanced and had homemade quality. Check them out for sure!

Delicious Pain au Chocolat and Danish. Haven’t had croissants that good since Paris. Looking forward to trying other items.

This hidden spot is the perfect place to pick up lunch to-go on a work day. Their specials are delicious change every day. They tweet them out each morning @JoltnBolt. The deserts are the real specialty though, I especially recommend the whoopie pies and the bread pudding.

BLUF : Outstanding service, competitive prices, and bolt lightning fast in preparing your order and getting you out the door. A Muni driver told me about this place after overhearing my woes of not being able to find good chai along 3rd Street. That was 2 years ago, and every morning when I walk down the stairs, I still get nervous at the thought of my barista no longer here. She is awesome, knows her regulars, and makes the tastiest, dirtiest chai latte on this side of town.

Great coffee (with coffee ice cubes) as well as delicious sandwiches at a very reasonable price. The place is a bit hard to find, but worth the search!

Love this place! I used to get a sandwich + side salad for lunch all the time when I worked in the neighborhood. Totally fair prices. A gem to have close to work.

Love this place! Everything is delicious. The deserts are to die for: if you see the bread pudding- get it!

I love the iced coffee with coffee ice cubes! It kept my coffee nice and cold without it being watered down. Genius.

I had the perfect experience here with the best soup I've ever had. I think it was cream of butternut squash which tasted like it had a lot of mushrooms with the right amount of richness. It was ~$5 (the website is a little out of date). I asked if the soup came with bread and the server said it could and gave me delicious toasted bread for no extra charge. The for here order was nicely packaged in paper except a plastic soup lid and spoon. We sat in the charming and mostly empty patio on a February Monday during the lunch hour. It has 3 umbrella covers and it and the cafe can be accessed by elevator from 3rd St. The cafe was floor 2 or maybe 2R.

Jolt N Bolt lives up to the hype. Walk through the front doors of this large brick building. Follow the signs, descend the stairs. Check out the daily specials and array of treats. I was hungry, and got a full course. I ordered a dirty chai latte, daily quiche and soup special, and a lovely citrus cake. The flavors, textures, and execution was excellent. Fast and efficient service.

A hidden gem in Dogpatch area. Don't be afraid to get into the building, go down stairs, and find many good pastries and cakes there. I ordered the chocolate orange cake and feed 8 people easily for only $43. The cake is beautiful and taste sophisticated. Usually the chocolate cake is quite one dimensional but the orange flavor gives another dimension. Usually I give the leftover to the birthday person but I find an excuse to keep it to myself haha. Anyway, please come and enjoy. They have small cakes as well.

One of the reasons I wanted to check this place out was the iced coffee cubes (instead of iced cubes in coffee), and they did not disappoint. A simple but effective idea, and the coffee itself was very solid. The food (sandwiches in particular) is also super reasonably price and has sizable portions. The place needs better signage, but the staff was super friendly with directions :)

Hands down, the best quiche I’ve ever had. And I eat a lot of quiche. Also, if you love lemon bars, theirs are perfect!

Daily lunch specials that are a great price for what you get and always a good variety. Pastries that are out of this world and top notch catering service. Things can get busy in waves during lunch time but they have a good system down that keeps the line moving. Do not that there is an outdoor patio for seating but not much indoor seating.

A place that serves cheap, delicious food and makes a great latte? Yes, please! I can't wait to go back! This little cafe is "hidden" inside 2325 3rd Street, with no outdoor signs bringing in strangers from the sidewalk - but well worth the effort to seek out. My husband and I went for lunch on a Monday. We ordered a 16 oz latte, a grilled turkey-avocado sandwich, spinach quiche, and a bran muffin -- the total? $12.25! My sandwich was delicious - grilled to perfection on thick, buttery focaccia, with fresh slices of tomato and avocado. The latte was creamy and just what I needed to perk up my afternoon. My husband enjoyed his two (surprisingly large) slices of quiche and the bran muffin. We definitely look forward to returning to this place!!

Kind of difficult to find since you have to enter via a loading dock and then walk through a kitchen. Selection was also very limited. (Not sure if I got there too late or if they limit bakes on slow days.) The pasteries I did get were delicious though. Chocolate croissant was very crispy and the opera cake was just the right amount of coffee flavor.

Nice place to grab a quick bite for lunch in the Dogpatch. Sandwiches, soups and daily specials are fairly good an all relatively reasonably priced. The pastries taste as good as they look!
