Never had the original Irish coffee and just saw they have it while walking at 1pm. We got in and were greeted by a very friendly bartender. Their Irish coffee was really strong and it was not my favorite but it was a great experience and was nice to try it. Would love to come back here for some drinks next time especially that they don’t skimp on the alcohol. 😉

Great local area bar who serves plenty of beer choices on tap and a great variety of shot drinks. They have TV showing sports. This place is mostly frequented by the locals of that area in San Fran. Prices good, great spot for soaking up the atmosphere

Throwback to a different time. Such a unique vibe. You really get transported. Has an east coast feel, the regulars are friendly, and the owner is a legend! Great jukebox. Solid drinks.

Where the tourists meet the locals. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good selection of beer and drinks. Fun stop along the way while sight seeing. As their motto goes:"Drink With Dignity". If you haven't tried it yet, the Anchor Steam Beer is worth it. Its clear why they're still going strong since 1922.

We randomly stopped in at La Roccas to wet our whistles and met the most friendly people ever! They treated us well and got us hooked on Fernet. We went back as often as we could while we were there.

They make a pretty mean irish coffee. Helped me stay up for a show at Bimbo's. I suspect cash would be appreciated here.

Visited on a random Monday morning and had a great experience. Very chill bartender and overall vibe. Reasonably priced (for SF) and varied selection of draft beers. Would recommend to anyone looking for a daytime bar near Pier 39 or North Beach.

Nothing more iconic than meeting in little Italy with the loudest nations in a jolly and with a fantastic atmosphere bar. La Rocca is a great place with Italian and Irish heritage pouring from every corner and person in it. It is incredible. Very friendly and beautiful people too.

Great corner place with sufficient seating at the bar as well as some tables around. The bartender was nice enough to put on a live game when requested.

Visiting San Fran from Aus and found this awesome hole in the wall, old school rock vibe pub to quench our thirst. The bartender was the highlight of the visit, playing music from our state and genuinely having interest in the customers. Definitely worth a visit to quench your thirst on these San Fran hills.

Exploring North Beach for the first time, La Rocca's caught our eye with the sign for the $8 Irish Coffee. Although not quite unfriendly, the bartender did not seem super keen to acknowledge we had entered but did greet me and was friendly enough when I ordered the coffees. For $8, the Irish Coffees are quite the steal. Having not had an Irish Coffee made in a bar before (just terrible teenage connections), I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at how strong the drink was. The whisky flavor was super strong, but slightly hidden under the also strong coffee flavor. The whipped cream did provide some creaminess to offset the whisky flavor also. Overall, we were happy with the drinks and thought they were a good value, but didn't feel super welcomed.

This place was a shame. I got one Irish coffee for $10.30, left the bartender (an older guy) $2 tip. Coffee was average if you're into Irish coffee. Later on, when I was going over my transactions, I found out that they charged me $44 for the tip. Unbelievable! Who does that? Tried calling them numerous times, no answer whatsoever. Had to go through transaction disputes through my card. Bottom line: average drink and a fraudulent transaction. One very sad place in San Francisco.
