Linden Room San Francisco Reviews
Quite literally the definition of “a hole in the wall”. A hidden masterpiece disguised as a speakeasy. The bar bites menu is a wonderful experience. The drinks are delicious the food, delicious and meticulously prepared. And the kind and accommodating staff made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Well worth a visit.
Linden Room is not to be missed by the adventurous cocktail lover. Incredible, creative drinks in an atmosphere that makes you feel like you know an SF secret you should keep. Oops... Sorry.. I had to tell. I found this place seeking the the best Negroni in the city and they did not disappoint. The Negroni I got tasted like the best candy in cocktail form that I could imagine (adult candy, that is). The cocktail menu is 100% creative and unusual. Tonight I got a martini with tomato vermouth and olive bitters. My partner once got a cocktail that had a literal blossom of cannabis as garnish. Watch the bartenders; they pay such close attention to detail making every drink. Great for a classy date, not great for anything more than a one on one. The place is TINY and groups more than four are strictly not allowed. You will not sit -- standing room only. When it's busy you might get turned away; but even on a Saturday night, it ebbs and flows, so just try back in a half hour. Soooooo worth it. Certainly one of my top bars in the city for vibe, drinks, and service. 10/10!
Excellent spot to get a top level cocktail. Small intimate bar with only a few seats, so get there early. But well worth the wait if you show up later. I had two of their signature cocktails and they did not disappoint. They are also connected to a fancy restaurant, but I didn’t try them out.
I hate to be drawing attention to this place because I want to keep it a secret but one of the best speakeasy experiences I have had. Small area, cozy spaces to seat 8 people. First come first serve, no reservations. The cocktails are phenomenal! The bartenders know their stuff. The drink menu’s unique & of quality ingredients. Great intimate spot to start off your night. Ralphie boy & This Thyme are my favorite. Cheers!
absolutely love this place. if you are in the area for a good cocktail, this is the place to come. i got a custom mezcal espresso martini and my friends got the 2 ‘spicy’ ones (i forget their names). all were fantastic. dry small space so gets crowded fast but go at midnight and you won’t have to wait. great drinks, great service, great atmosphere. must go.
Loved this little speakeasy style bar! A small bar (6ish seats) behind a red door on a side alley, if you make the mistake of walking through the curtain there, you end up in a restaurant. The drinks were AWESOME. Very different, but super delicious. I truly loved the mezcal pear drink that they made. High end spirits/liquors, with high end mixings/flavors leading to fantastic drinks. Definitely stop in here!
Outstanding cocktail bar with skilled mixologists. A true hidden San Francisco gem. The cocktails are well balanced, distinctive and include components devised by the chef at the adjoining Nightbird restaurant. For those with discriminating tastes and a mindful palette.
Hands down best cocktail bar in SF. Every drink was delicious, balanced, and strong. Seats are first come first serve with only 8 chairs but it moves quick. Also you can stand to wait. Spacious enough to wait but I never mind standing for a well worth it drink. Shout out to Jamie and Sarah for the hospitality and great drinks. Favorites are the Ralphie Boy the merengue was tasty and La Chicha well balanced with tequila tad sweet and good sour kick. Will be back!
This bar is on the small so be here early if you want a spot. But the service is great. The cocktails they made were great and varied.
We had such a great time here! The staff was so knowledgeable and friendly - we had them riff off the menu to make custom cocktails for us and everything they created was delicious. Highly recommend
Probably the best cocktails I've had in the States in the past 5 years. Go early, cause it's tiny!
Delicious creative cocktails! Intimate space though. But that’s the charm I guess.

We visited the Linden Room for their tasting menu and it was a great experience. The bar itself has such a cool, chill vibe—it’s intimate and stylish without being pretentious. A huge shoutout to our bartender, Michael. Not only were his drinks absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced, but he was incredibly kind and genuinely cared that we were having a great time. As for the food, every dish in the tasting was distinct and inventive. You can tell so much thought goes into the flavors and presentation. If you want a superb, high-end experience that’s fun and relaxed, this is the spot.

This has been on my list for so long and finally made it in. The space is small but that makes it such a cozy spot for a drink. Even crowded it feels like you are drinking with friends in a living room. The cocktails are great and the bartenders are so wonderful. Can’t wait to go back!
Intimate speakeasy to go to enjoy pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap. Creative cocktails are well balanced. Be prepared to stand and enjoy your cocktail as there are no seating options. Most everyone there was with just one other person but there were a couple groups. I would suggest going with one person to share in convo and a cocktail.
amazing drinks! the cocktail i got came with a shortbread cookie made by the pastry chefs at night bird. even the cookie was top tier. loved the unique glasses for each drink. tiny bar, good for talking to one person, only standing room.

Love the Linden Room, have been many times. They have amazing cocktails, but you have to be prepared to pay for it. I do have to say the service is hit or miss. Often they are welcoming but the last time I was there, a male bartender was rude to everyone that walked in and trash talked guests after they left. The space is tiny so you can hear everything he is saying. Not a great vibe to create, was disappointing and icky.
The cocktails were high quality. I don't know if I'd say they were super creative. I'd characterise their cocktails as more refined and sophisticated. More traditional with a twist . The space is small and I would not say comfortable unless it was empty. I've been to other cocktail room with better vib etc.

Closed when we tried to stop by on a Saturday, waited almost 30 minutes thinking they might open. I saw they responded to a couple of these reviews saying they posted notice on their site and IG — website has no mention of being closed and IG posted a story about reopening only after these reviews were posted. Would like to try again if opening hours are posted somewhere.

I immediately felt unwelcome, even after trying to get recommendations from the bartender. Not a place that I would suggest to others. Going to a specialty cocktail bar as such should welcome an experience, and that was definitely missing.
We came tonight at 7pm on 1/10 Saturday and they were completely closed, shut down. The restaurant and the bar, lights off, no one is there. Google map and their site and IG have nothing about it. Such a disappointment. There was another couple who also tried to get in
Showed up on a Saturday at their listed hours, since the reviews said that it gets busy early, but left disappointed after waiting 20 min and they still had not opened. No one answered the phone too. Several other couples stopped by and ended up leaving.
