Lou's Cafe San Francisco Reviews
Great first time! Honestly really good quality and price. The chicken pesto was okay but the hot and spicy was my favorite 😍
I have never been to this place, but I’m so happy. I finally tried it. The tuna melt was so delicious and I can’t get enough of it. The sandwiches are mostly below $15 and my tuna melt was 1250 In this economy, the size of the sandwich is also a decent size For someone who’s looking for a delicious and filling lunch I highly recommend this place. Kind staff as well!
I came here for lunch on a Saturday because I was in the area and I had to stop because there was a line and I wanted to check out what it was for when all of the other businesses surrounding it were a bit dead. There was a bit of a wait to order and a bit of a wait to get the sandwich but it did not disappoint! I ended up going with the AMI-CADO on Dutch crunch and it was amazing! I'm usually not a huge fan of sandwiches unless it's on dutch crunch and the jalapeno spread makes it 10x better. There wasn't any seating available at the store front but we were able to walk over to a nearby park that had tables to sit and enjoy the sandwiches. The pricepoint I think is also pretty good for what you get.
I ordered the chicken pesto, my boyfriend had the risky business, and his sister grabbed the bbq chicken. We all went silent while eating! THE BEST SANDWICHES I've HAD IN A REALLY LONG TIME! I was so full from the first half that I had to save it for the next day and I was so excited to eat it.
The sandwiches blew my mind, they were divine, they perfected it, every ingredient, every step, they did it perfectly. These sandwiches are extremely worth the price. I would recommend this to friends and family. This place is small and the staff are talkative and motivated. They know how to make a sandwich.
Came here on various occasions for sandwiches. Tried multiple on their massive menu and all were so good! Recently tried the Ultimate Club & Hot Links. Their special sauce pulls everything together and the bread they use is top tier. I do not tend to eat bread products in general, but in Lou’s sandwiches I do!!! They get busy during lunchtime so be prepared to wait or can call in for your order. Will try more things on their menu next time!
Stumbled upon this place right before exploring Golden Gate Park. So happy we did. Seriously the best sandwich of my life. Small establishment with amazing efficiency. Workers were getting killed but they kept smiling and making delicious sandwiches. We all got different sandwiches. Pesto chicken was amazing. My son devoured the buffalo chicken. I got a cranberry turkey that was mind blowing. It made the rose garden an even more special experience. SUPER affordable for the product received. Only regret is I don’t know when I’ll have this again. Colorado loves great sandwiches ;) Definitely recommend!!!
I was on my way out to see Bushwacker Bob and his little stab Tracer Bullet Betty when the little voice inside said stop! So I did, and found myself right in front of Lou's Cafe, I remember someone telling me about how great the BLT's are at Lou's so in I went. Well, I gotta tell you, that BLT wasn't great at all as a matter of fact it was spectacular! 5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆
This place is amazing! Easily the best sandwich spot in SF. I have been coming here for ten years and I am on a quest to try every single sandwich on the menu. This time I ordered the Risky Bizness and it was great!! The pastrami and crab went well together. The peppercinis were a nice addition!
Lous Café is located in a busy street in the Richmond, and offers various traditional sandwiches with their famous Dutch crunch bread. I try the Roma style sandwich, and it was very tasty. Specially, their home saude that adds a lot to the flavor to the sandwich. The prices are OK and they only make sandwiches for takeout. I recommend going directly to the store for takeout for better prices than the traditional apps.
Parking: street parking. The store looks a little old outside. Prices are about average and the portions are good. Food: ordered breakfast sandwich, very tasty especially the bread is easy to chew. Personally don't like hard bread crusts. The sandwich has good amount of fillings, which I don't just taste plain bread. Maybe coming back to try one with their special sauce.
No-frills sandwich shop with decent portions, reasonable prices and quick service. Taste-wise it's kind of meh but overall good for a quick meal to fill your empty stomach. Service was lukewarm, the ladies at the shop were busy making sandwiches and probably fulfilling online orders and wasn't very attentive to answering my questions.
I don't get the hype. I mean, it is just OK. Had the Tuna melt & BPAV that were recommended by the folks at infatuation. Bread is not fresh. Sub-par tuna with slightly bad aftertaste. Pickles in BPAV were very off-putting.
With sandwiches....the quality of bread plays a major role in taste. I would put subculture sandwiches over Lou's because of bread and meat portions. Focus on tastier bread and recreate the menu.... specialize...
