Old Jerusalem San Francisco Reviews
The food is amazing. The customer service is amazing and warm. I'll be back to try other dishes. The Mansaf was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hands down, some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had! We tried the mixed grilled items with hummus (chicken, lamb, beef) which was all delicious - with an order of rice on the side. All that with some fresh pita, garlic tahini, and spicy Turkish salad (plus the homemade hot sauce on the table reminded me of Turkish ezme and was amazing too!) I don’t even like vegetables, but I could’ve gotten full off of the stuffed falafel… Oh, and the mint tea to end it all and give your stomach some rest. Just an awesome experience all around!
Excellent falafel served with an equally great spicy pepper sauce. The stuffed falafel was divine as is their basic rice pilaf. Kofta was also great as was the hummus. Service was A+++ - love this place!
We were exploring the area when I spotted the name and decided to check it out. The food was incredibly delicious and flavorful. The staff were really friendly, and the Turkish coffee was an experience for me—it had a lovely aroma but was a bit too strong for my taste! 😂 I enjoyed chatting with the manager/owner; she was really pleasant.
Old Jerusalem is an absolute must-visit. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, but the food is the real star of the show. Here’s what we had: Chicken Shawarma Plate: The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender. It paired perfectly with their fluffy rice and hummus. Lamb Chops Plate: These were the highlight of the night! Cooked perfectly - juicy, and incredibly flavorful. You can tell they use high-quality meat. Kunafa: You cannot leave without ordering this. It arrived warm, gooey, and sweet with that signature crunchy topping. It’s easily one of the best versions of this dessert I’ve ever had.
The food was so flavorful and the portions were excellent for the price. The staff was so incredibly kind and knowledgeable about gluten free items. Everything was clearly labeled. This a great choice for those with celiac. We can't wait to come back.
Old Jerusalem is truly a gem in San Francisco. Their portions are huge and absolutely delicious. I ordered the mansaf, and it lasted me three meals. I loved the white sauce it came with. Everything we ordered was fresh and prepared quickly, and the staff is very friendly. Also, trust me on this, you have to order the Dubai chocolate. I’m not usually into the whole Dubai chocolate hype, but theirs is incredible. It might honestly be the best chocolate I’ve ever had. I will definitely be coming back.
We had an absolutely fantastic family meal here. This place is a real gem. We focused on the shareable plates and loved everything we tried - the flavors are truly authentic and delicious. Make sure you don't skip the complementary pickles; they're a standout! And the mint tea is the perfect, refreshing end to the meal. What makes this place special is the service. The host and the entire staff are wonderful people who make you feel right at home. Great food, great people - we highly recommend Old Jerusalem for a top-notch dining experience!
Best middle middle east food in the bay. Come here for original authentic flavors. I love their vast vegetarian and vegan options for my family and I always recommend to friends coming from out of town. I don't know her name, but there is a beautiful lady with lovely ling dresses always so sweet serving the front of house with the kindest attitude. They have a really nice big patio on the back. Highly recommend!
Got the beef shawarma, musakhan, and crispy kunafa and everything was good but the musakhan is such a stand out: well seasoned, tender fall off the bone chicken with lots of sumac and sweet onion, the bread underneath just soaking off all that juice. Will be thinking about it often! Everyone there is also so sweet and kind, will fs come back soon and often
the food here is incredible!! we got the beef kebab, lentil soup, and rotisserie chicken. It came with complementary pita bread and two dips, one being sweet and sour and the other being yogurt. The food came pretty quickly and it was steaming hot, perfect for a cold night. There was a larger party sitting in their back patio area so i was expecting a longer wait time for our food, but pleasantly surprised with their efficiency! the beef kebab was very flavorful but the chicken was a bit on the plain side. Overall would definitely recommend!!
Amazing spot for your fav meditteranean grills! Had the stuffed falafel with pinenuts and sumac. Stuff that into a pita with the complimentary tahini and onion sauce and it’s a meal on its own! Had the Shish Tavuk and it was so juicy and flavorful. Also had the mixed grill with 2 koftas and tawuk instead. Also great! Food was a lot! Such a welcoming place and staff! Will definitely come back to try other dishes
We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted by a warm smile. The hostess suggested their patios and it was really lovely. Ordered Mansaf, which was a unique find, and was blown away but how tender the meat and flavorful it was. We also got their hummus with meat and it was fantastic. We got to talk with the owner, Ahmad, who checked up on us. He also offered us their special soft knafeh (which you can’t find anywhere else). It was indulgence in a bite! So buttery, sweet, and warm. A must visit in mission!
The taste is very authentic and beautiful. We ordered mansaf The meat is cooked to perfection. We enjoyed every bite of it. We also had the stuffed falafel which was yummy 😋. The crispy kunafa was tasty. When we were done with dinner and were about to leave we saw the soft kunafa. Which was the authentic one according to the owner. And he was so sweet and kind he hand it to us in a to-go box to try it at home. And it was so good. A very delightful experience and amazing hospitality. It’s a 20 years old family business. Show some love and I am sure you will definitely enjoy the food the vibe.
Long-time Mission mainstay serving excellent Palestinian classics — from familiar wraps to traditional platters. Not your typical grab-and-go snack stand. Falafel is the tastiest encountered in SF Bay Area thus far — best enjoyed as an appetizer and in cigar-like form to maximize on the savory crunchiness. As a wrap, still good. Rare-find dishes such as Mansaaf are well-worth a leisurely dinner on the back terrace: lamb-shank slow-cooked in yoghurt sauce, served with rice. Palestinian comfort food, well-prepared and flavorful.
We came on a weekend, come early! The restaurant fills up fast. We arrived at 545pm and it was filled by 6pm. The food is great! We order Dolma, falafel, pita bread and lentil soup, Mansaf, Mousakhan and lamb chops. We ended off with Kunafa. The pita bread and lentil soup combination for starters is crazy good!! I personally love the Mousakhan, the chicken was well seasoned, everything was so gooood! I’m not a big fan of lamb meat but the lamb chops are great! We ended off the meal with Kunafa, o.m.g. this is the best I’ve ever had! The cheesy goodness mixed condensed milk and pops of pistachios for texture. Service was great and attentive. No problems with ordering or water refills. Would recommend and come again!
Really good, we went there last minute late at night after watching a movie at the Alamo for a “girl dinner” and it was really good. We only got falafel, pita and rice. The rice was yellow and really flavorful (kinda random I know) the falafel was cigar shaped and really good. The staff was nice and they made sure we were satisfied.
I ordered the chicken kabob plate and my friend got the beef shawarma! The meat was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The turmeric rice and hummus were also delicious. Wish the service was a bit faster. Enjoyed the side pitas and dipping sauces. I want to come back to try the other Palestinian dishes for sure.
The food was great, and the staff was amazing! But i have to give it one star because of the unprofessionalism. I witnessed a waiter get fired in real time after he went to use restroom. This waiter took my order and checked on my friend and i every few minutes, really sweet guy and did not deserve that. I can only imagine how the other staff are treated. It honestly took my appetite after that. Would only recommend for the food, but managers are very unprofessional.
