This is a classic waterfront dining experience that actually delivers on the great seafood. We stopped by recently and leaned heavily into the seafood staples. • Steamed Clams: A great way to start. They were fresh, clean, and served in a flavorful broth that practically begs for extra bread. They served with bread and butter on the side. • Fresh Oysters: Briny and chilled to perfection. You can tell they take their raw bar seriously here. • Blackened Rock Cod: This was the standout. The Cajun seasoning provided a nice kick without overpowering the delicate flavor of the fish. It was flaky, well-seared, and perfectly cooked. Overall, the service was attentive and the atmosphere was lively. It’s a great spot to grab a table, enjoy the harbor views specially you can enjoy dining experience while viewing sea lions, and tuck into some quality West Coast seafood.

The food was good, but there was a long wait time on a weekend. So be prepared to wait at least 30 mins. The service was pretty quick although the tables are pretty closely spaced in order to maximize seating. We ordered the shrimp combo fest and the stuffed salmon special of the day. Both tasted good.

This place truly won our hearts. The seafood was so fresh and flavorful that we couldn’t resist coming back three days in a row. Every meal felt comforting and memorable, the kind that makes you crave it again before you even leave. On our second day, Martin made the experience even better with his warm and attentive service, and on the third day William was just as kind and professional. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same about our experience with Ally on the first day, which felt a bit disappointing compared to the following visits. That said, the food itself is exceptional and absolutely worth returning for.

Loved our experience here. Not a cheap lunch but worth it. We sat at the bar, our server Rocio(?) was awesome. Food was well prepared and came out fast. Highly recommend.

Pier Market Seafood Restaurant is a great choice for classic San Francisco waterfront dining. I ordered the Cajun seafood, and it was delicious; well seasoned, flavorful, and served in a generous portion with crab, shrimp, and sides that paired perfectly with the spices. We visited during a non-peak hour and were able to walk in right away without any waitlist, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, and the waterfront views really add to the meal. Friendly service and a great location make this a spot I’d happily return to.

We ordered the fried calamari and the salmon pasta and they were both delicious. Good portion size, kind service, and the best location there can be!

The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and the clam chowder in the bread bowl was especially nice. Service was friendly and the restaurant has a relaxed waterfront vibe, making it a pleasant stop during a visit to the pier.

Very nice establishment inside Pier 39. Service was fast, and friendly! The Seafood Sampler plate was really good. My favorite was the fried calamari! Crab cakes were well seasoned, and the Chowder Fries were supisingly delicious! Well worth checking them out!

Honestly, I was there for the view at sunset mostly. Got a great window table, enjoyed a great bread bowl of chowder and some bubbles to sip. It was the mood at the moment. I watched the sea lions frolic on the over below.

We were feeling a little bit tired from walking around the pier, decided to take a break here, tried their clam chowder, garlic fries, and mission margarita and they were all absolutely delicious! They actually have seating right next to the water which was a delightful surprise so you get amazing views whilst enjoying the food and drinks too. Service was absolutely delightful, highly recommended! Food was piping hot and delicious. Our food was served so fast that we were amazed at how quickly we received our food. Excellent service. Caveat though is the 5% additional fee for each bill.

Excellent seafood platter and I personally loved the battered cid and breaded shrimp. My husband enjoyed it too plus the fried calamari. Lovely service, thank you Camille!! A must try friends!!

Delicious food totally recommend. Hope to come back here sometime soon. I don’t understand the bad reviews about the place, but it definitely deserves a five star. The waiters were amazing. and so is the food. 😊

Easy to get a reservation, we got sat at the windows looking towards the golden gate bridge at sunset and it was spectacular. We started with the crab cakes, and they had great flavor with a nice texture profile. My wife got the steak & shrimp and chow mein, she said it was the best surf and turf fusion she's ever had. I got the shellfish platter and it did not disappoint, everything was cooked exactly as it should be. No complaints besides it was a little noisy.

Had dinner here and we enjoyed their special - fish (salmon) and chips with coleslaw. It went well with a glass of Cab. They have plenty of choices in the menu and servings were big enough for sharing. Service was friendly and fast. We were seated outside and the heater was warm and toasty. Our server was great, came to check on us and if we need anything.

Went here for a small lunch and it was perfect. Shrimp was so delicious and fresh. Martin was a super kind server. View was obviously amazing and wonderful part of the experience. We didn’t wanna linger too long either and were able to eat quickly and get out when we were done. Clam chowder was a 6/10, decent not terrible but I’ve had better.

Lovely location and a great place to sit and watch the world if you get a table outside. Service was a little slow but they were very busy on a warm day so understandable. Food was tasty

Great place for gifts . Great food and also you can see Alcatraz jail… with merry go rounds and Ferris wheels on the boardwalk… really a fun filled day for the whole family.. to spend the day with miles and miles of walk ways …

Visiting Fisherman's Warf and stopped here for lunch w/ some friends. Approximately 11am, quick to be seated, good server/waitress (she checked on us regularly), and good food. Had a clam chowder bread bowl. It was good, nothing spectacular, but definitely good. (I think their just fun to look at moreso.) Squid appetizer was good. Muscles and linguine dish was great. Friends enjoyed their crab 🦀 , seafood platter 🐟, and soup. I would come back.

Considering the pre-holiday weekend, we did not have to wait much for outdoor seating that had heaters outside. The wait inside would have been considerably longer. The concierge and waiter were awesome, friendly and quick. The menu offered a variety of choices. I’ll always eat at a place at least twice before i make a final decision… that being said our food was average tasting for the price! Meal portion seemed kind of small.

Pier 39 has a treasure trove of placer to dine. PMSR was a nice little spot in our adventures for the day. The cocktails were a little too “perfumy” for our liking. We were expecting more of a rum punch kind of taste. Lobster was as fresh as can be expected. The fries were a surprise bonus of great outside crispness and tender inside. Clam chowder was top notch as well! Appetizer of crispy salmon bites were well worth it! A must get! The stylish decor was a bit off putting by the “Denny’s”esque salt and pepper shaker. I know I know. Sounds boughie. But it’s worth going through the trouble of keeping a top level asthetic

I ordered the garlic butter seafood platter/boil for $55. What they fail to tell you is that the seafood isn't just butter and garlic like the menu described. There is a red color and has an odd taste. I think it's Italian seasoning. Not very good. I wish I was warned. I was excited for my seafood until I tasted it. I was very disappointed. It was also very greesy

Given the location, the price was reasonable. The portions were fair, but the food lacked flavor 😅 The mussels were the only dish that stood out. The sourdough clam chowder was quite disappointing. The bread was tough and rubbery, falling short of our expectations. The fried seafood platter was okay. At least the fish didn’t have a fishy taste.

Bottom line is the food is mediocre. The views are amazing since it’s waterfront. One of the worst Caesar salads I’ve had in a while. The clam chowder was mid. The fish and chips were the only thing we enjoyed. Skip it and try another restaurant on the pier.

This restaurant hit the spot after our long day. All of my dishes were cooked to perfection. I tried the pomegranate margarita and it didn't disappoint. The customer service was good and the manager took good care of my friend for her bday with a nice surprise. We didn't have reservations but our party of 5 were quickly seated with a nice view of the pier. I definitely recommend the chowder, salmon, and the fries.

I mean… let’s be honest, you don’t go to Pier 39 for the food. It’s the iconic pier with the sea lions that bring us back to Fisherman’s Wharf time and time again, and if you get a seat by the back windows then I’d say it’s worth it. Otherwise, you might leave feeling like it didn’t quite hit the mark. Frankly, the food screams Sysco — I’m not convinced I was eating local or fresh fish, let alone a house-made coleslaw or sauce. The service was spotty, and we spent far too long trying to get someone’s attention to grab the check. I did appreciate that they validated parking, though it was only discounted and not fully included (something to consider if you’re driving in).

The sea food was mediocre, the view is beautiful if you seat by the window, but the service is really bad. Servers are poorly trained and selected, they got attitude when you about food… they don’t come by to check on you, you can’t find your server, overall servers are not pleasant. We are local but we like entertaining our friends who are visiting, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

Pier Market is in a great location on Pier 39. I was excited to make this our “Big” dinner during our San Francisco trip given all the great reviews. I got the Cioppino which I thought missed the mark. The tomato based broth was flavorful, but the dish was over proportioned with pasta, instead of having a well balance of seafood like fish, mussels, clams, shrimp, and crab. There was barely any crab! My friend got the grilled chicken breast with rice and vegetables. He said it was “okay.” The bread and butter they bring out to the table was probably the highlight of the night. The service also left a lot to be desired. Our server seemed too busy to engage with us at all, or even offer house recommendations like you would expect at an establishment of this caliber and price point. She also never smiled. If you are looking for good seafood in San Francisco, skip this place. This is basically a tourist forfeiture and there are much better places in the bay area.
