Red Cafe San Francisco Reviews
We love this place for breakfast. It's always great, happy, fast service and the food is consistently fantastic! Really great coffee and cappuccino too. You can't go wrong.
A solid Mission district favorite! Red Cafe is always a reliable choice. Good food, generous portions, and great service. Cozy, friendly vibe. I couldn’t finish my giant Breakfast Quesadilla. My partner got the club sandwich and we just ate our leftovers for dinner tonight. That’s 4 meals for $50!
I was here for breakfast and it was so delicious! Staff was very friendly and attentive, food was brought super quickly! If you're looking for good, solid food options, this is your place!
Great place for breakfast. A couple good Salvadoran breakfast items on the menu. I always order one of those. I've eaten there more than a few times and the food has always been consistently good. P.S. The restroom is clean too and that's a good sign.
The servers are very friendly and the food came out in less than 10 minutes. The french toast and eggs are great! There are no substitutions on the menu items but you can get almost everything as a side dish to mix and match what you want.
This was an awesome experience. We were in town for business and we had a free night as a group. I did my research to find a nice restaurant for me and my team members. This was a home run from the level of service to the food. It was amazing. Nice job team members of Abdallah's. If we return to San Fran this will be on our list to go back.
The Red Cafe was the ULTIMATE breakfast experience! It was busy, noisy, and smelled delicious. Service was quick and friendly. The menu was overflowing with options that looked delicious. My friend and I wound up ordering two very different things, and switched our plates halfway through the meal. Everything was delicious! I would come back again anytime!
Coffee tastes great and not bitter. When ordering the omlette with hash browns they do serve two full slices of bread for the toast. Most places have one slice of toast. Waitress offered to refill my coffee three times. Right across the street from the Italian pastry. Parking is free in the morning up to 9am. You can find easy parking before 8am.
It has Mexican food that is more like what you would eat in Mexico than the standard tacos and so on. I had eggs with shredded steak and peppers. The area is getting gentrified, and there were plenty of young tech workers, but the majority of customers were Latinos. It is a great mix with everyone eating and enjoying themselves
We have ordered chicken breast with eggs. The chicken breast was perfectly seared and extremely flavorful. The service was very good as well. Will definitely come again.
Great American diner with the touch of Mission. Staff is very cool, the kind of service that remembers you name and order if you Lee there more than a few times a year. They’ve done well adapting to Covid and service is still top notch! I recommend their breakfasts!
The food here is so delicious! Friendly service even tho how busy it’s. I enjoy their breakfast quesadilla a lot, and the burrito. Orange juice is freshly squeezed, definitely get one.
This place is great! Got the french slam with a side of hash browns. Eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast were all cooked just the way I like them. Pretty quick and not too expensive.
Small restaurant but always seem to be crowded in a good way. Food was made to perfection and received it in a timely manner. The "bar' area you can even watch your food being made. Very friendly staff. Price is also on the cheaper side.
Red Cafe is the place for classic and delicious breakfast/ brunch dishes. The place gets packed and there’s usually a wait, but it goes by fast! I love their fluffy pancakes and French toast the most! Although they offer a variety of other dishes that you may like too.
Great breakfast! Also had their salad at lunch time. Quick service, even if need order to go. Friendly staff! Always greet with smile.
Delicious food! Tried most savory items on the menu, all were fantastic. It might be that I am always starving when I go, but each time hits so hard. I recommend the Chilaquiles. They do them crispy-style, with salsa and beans on the side. The staff is neighborly, and quick to refill your coffee. The manager looks like Bob Hoskins.
The Red Cafe is where he promised us breakfast, and I was all in! Twas non other than Pinkus Magoo that said he'd spot for breakfast, but...Thar be a catch. ..Ol Pinkus needed a Joint Wasser for his Pixitillier so he could go to Burning Man and be the talk of the town, and in his words...I be the only 89 year old that can still wag his tail with the best of um! First time in the Red Cafe for me. The Red Cafe is a pleasant place full of local flavors and friendly neighbors, where most people know each other's names. The breakfast was simple, fresh and delicious, delivered hot under an unassuming smile. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
This place is INCREDIBLE. Best hash browns I've ever had, and the fruit and vegetables were so fresh tasting. The eggs were cooked to perfection. We were seated quickly and the service was great, we will DEFINITELY be back!!!
Delicious Mexican and American breakfast and lunch place for me.
The Latino vibe you would enjoy! The food is really good, fair price and the staff super friendly!
Super tasty breakfast at reasonable prices - one of the best cappuccinos I had whilst visiting San Francisco. Definitely recommend the corned beef hash - I didn’t want it to end
Eggs a la mexicana. Accompanied with fried beans, hash brown, and sourdough bread. Warm and fresh breakfast to kickstart the day. Be aware that in weekends there’s a waiting line outside.
Wonderful place to have breakfast. Food is so very delicious and the staff are very friendly. I recommend their French Toast.
I loved the Chilaquiles. Very tasty. Slightly hot and spicy. The service was attentive but not intrusive. I highly recommend it.
Fantastic chilaquiles! Loved the diner atmosphere, a true breakfast gem with excellent menu options

THE BEST BREAKFAST IN SF!! They have the best breakfast in SF. Whether you want the traditional or Latino breakfast, everything is always DELICIOUS. customer service is also great. I used to come to this place almost every weekend when I lived in SF. Now, every time I’m in town, this is still one of my to stops.
The staff were extremely friendly. I would highly recommend anyone to come here and enjoy some of their amazing dishes and five out of five customer service!

The decor, atmosphere, and service we're wonder! But the food was exquisite!
Always busy and happy to find a spot at the bar for lunch. They slice their own meats so not processed offsite.. French fries were good with turkey sandwich. Need to try the breakfast now..staff is nice and there are restrooms.
Sometimes it takes them a bit, but the food is good 😊
I will forever love this place. I'm very satisfied every time I eat there. It's small but you can see the employees give it their all in the name of service. I will highly recommend this place to my friends and family.
Went in and ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada. Was a decent portion and the taste was ok. I think I was more surprised at the 28 dollar price tag that was attached to it.
This is a nicely low-key diner in the Mission. We were seated and served quickly, and it wasn't overrun with hipsters like some of the other local places. The scrambled eggs were good, and my wife (a bacon connoisseur by now) praised their bacon. This is definitely getting added to our brunch repertoire.
Good spot for tasty, filling breakfasts. I LOVED the oatmeal pancakes and liked the corned beef hash (though it's not quite as exciting as it looks). The eggs, sausage, and toast were nice but standard. Portions were very large - prepare for leftovers unless you're very hungry. Service was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice - lots of locals coming in and chatting, giving it a real neighborhood feel. Décor was simple but nice, and interior was breezy and pleasant. Good spot for breakfast in the mission.
Excellent service. Standard tuna croissant and ham sandwich. Great fries and onion rings. Plantains are so yummy.

Visiting from San Antonio, Tx: most of my family’s order was great (chilaquiles plate, quesadilla, omelette & burrito), but the coffee tasted “burned” .. I didn’t know you could burn coffee. Secondly the refried beans were not fresh, been refried too many times for my liking. The staff was great.
No longer my favorite Salvadoran restaurant. The beans are bland, no pupusas, no chorizo. What happened!!! The waiters are very nice but that doesn't make up for it. Sorry Red Cafe. We're breaking up.
Went there for the first time thinking I was gonna enjoy some Mexican chilaquiles which I love so much but it was rather different and disappointing. They had hardly any flavor unless you add that green salsa which they serve on the side. You get a 2oz ceramic ramekin of each: green salsa, sour cream and beans. Was craving more beans. It was underwhelming. The club sandwich was delicious and so were the French fries. Coffee was very watered down diner coffee, not good. Not sure if I want to return here or not. I have mixed feelings.
If you visit Red Cafe, be prepared to stress about parking on the crowded streets. The food was okay, with prices starting at $15. While the staff was nice, the experience overall isn't worth the hassle.

Food is good but service is poor and there’s an women is really rude.
This place was a let down, I came in expecting just a regular diner but I was let down by the food. For starters the chilaquiles were made with stale chips and not nearly enough egg. My corned beef hash was also a let down and it felt like it came from a can, plus it was under cooked. Over all my experience did not meet my expectations. The food was lacking in both taste and quality, and I couldn't help but feel that the ingredients used were the lowest quality.
