If you're looking for a fun, immersive experience that transports you straight back to the 1920s Prohibition era, this speakeasy-style bar is a must-visit. From the moment you arrive, it feels like you are stepping into a secret world. There's no sign - just a mysterious door and a doorbell. Ring it, give the password, and you're in. Reservations are required, and the exclusivity adds to the charm. Once inside, you're seated at a cozy table and handed an impressively large cocktail and spirits menu. My friend and I went on a Saturday night around 9:30pm and were surprised by how relaxed and uncrowded it was. The seasonal drink menu is incredibly creative, ad the staff were fantastic - patient, knowledgeable, and happy to walk us through the options. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance was spot-on for the era. Dim lighting, vintage decor, and a vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I tried a few cocktails, but the standout for me was the Heavy Artillery - bold, balanced, and unforgettable. There are a few house rules that help preserve the experience: 1. Be discreet with cell phone usage 2. No flash photography and 3. Remain seated and enjoy the era. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely go back. It's not just a bar - it's an experience!

My husband and I have been coming here since we were dating and it is always the most perfect way to the end the night. Service is always fantastic. They have an extensive drink menu, and the staff know it well, offer recommendations and guide you through it. The cocktails are excellent, with classics on the menu, as well as very unique combinations. You can tell there is quite a bit of craftsmanship in each drink. The cocktails are also priced well.

The entrance can be tricky — it’s not where the map shows. You’ll need to go around the corner near address 480, where a doorman will check your reservation password before letting you in. Inside, the atmosphere is fantastic with an extensive cocktail menu and a true hidden-bar vibe. We really enjoyed the experience, and it feels like a perfect spot for a date night. One thing to note: the area right outside has quite a few homeless people, as others have mentioned. Just be aware when arriving and leaving.

Absolutely amazing cocktails. I didn't like my drink as much I'd have hoped for so the bartender himself came to our booth to ask me what I am looking for and made some custom drinks for us - twice! He was very kind and made absolutely amazing drinks. I am so glad I ended up finally making it to the speak easy. Will definitely visit again. Our server was an extremely helpful and kind lady who ended up guiding us to the library as well. :) good day.

One of the best speakeasies in SF. Hard to find their entrance - well that is the whole point of a speakeasy. You need a password to enter into the speakeasy apart from your ID cards. We had a reservation here and were floored by their ambience the minute we stepped foot inside that door. The 1920s speakeasy era vibe, cute little candles, no phone policy, a huggge bar, amazing bartender churning delicious reasonably priced cocktails and great service. What more could one ask for? The drinks menu is extensive but very well categorized based on whether you like citrusy, something with scotch or with egg whites, etc etc. We ordered several cocktails here mostly whisky and scotch based and everything was delicious. We then stepped into the Library cocktail bar where we are allowed to take pics and that has a limited menu (a few options from Bourbon & Branch but not all) but again serving some divine cocktails. The area around the bar can be a little shady at night. All in all highly recommend getting a reservation and stopping by this gem of a place in SF. I will certainly be back every time I am in town.

If you want a fun experience and a trip back to the 1920’s during the prohibition & be at a speakeasy bar, this a cool spot to visit. You will need reservations, once you got them you get a password to be given at the door. The door isn’t marked but you will see a doorbell ring it and someone will answer and ask for the password. Once inside they will sit you down at a table and give you a huge menu of cocktails and spirits. They have so many options it’s a bit overwhelming, but it’s a good thing because they have something for everyone. I love the selection of scotch they have here. If you line a nice relaxing place to have drinks this is the place to go. However there is an hour and half limit of your stay so choose your drinks wisely. This was a nice place for my 40th Birthday.

One of the best speakeasies in SF. Cool, dark and quiet inside. Great, seasonal drinks menu with a lot of creativity. Reservation required, or you can hang out in the "Library" section of the bar that has a few high tops first come first served. Full cocktail menu is very bourbon forward like the name suggests - Bourbon flights available. The menu refreshes constantly with creative drinks covering of all kinds of liquors - gin, tequila, mezcal, etc. We wanted to try a couple and every one was a hit! :) the gimlet was refreshing. Super friendly movie buff bartender was quick to shake up these tasty concoctions. Neighborhood outside is a bit chaotic - was heckled by some homeless lady. Hard to get inside after knocking on the wrong entrance doors... there are security guards outside to direct you inside.

We were out to dinner when a friend recommended we move the party here. While parking in this area can be difficult, do whatever you can to come out here because it was very very worth it. The service is awesome and makes you really feel like you're back in time when a cocktail was more than just a fun drink. Its an experience and the staff make sure you're along for the ride. All of the recommendations were great and the best was just relying on the staff to find you something. Trust me, they knocked it out of the park several times across 4 different types of drinkers. Finally, the library room is great afterwards. I can't wait to go back!

Very nice bar to feel that you travel back in time. Library setup, nice concept. Love the drinks. Just be careful once you're outside. I think the government has to do something about safety at night. On that day we went, there was a big conference happening.

Fun speakeasy style bar in downtown SF. The drinks are delicious and very reasonably priced (especially for being in the city). The atmosphere is wonderful and the service was excellent. Be careful going alone or at night because it’s on the edge of a rough part of town.

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing! The place perfectly captures the spirit of the 1900s Prohibition era, with an authentic speakeasy vibe in every detail. Every cocktail we tried was so delicious that we wanted to taste the entire menu. The lady who served us was very kind and gave us great recommendations about the drinks. These were truly some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had in the U.S. — outstanding experience overall!

I am a whiskey snob. Such a whiskey snob. We're talking Yamazaki, Hibiki, Highland Park, etc. and I prefer Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Neat. I also love speakeasy bars because I hate screens, I don't like to see monitors, none of that. I love the vibe, love the bartenders, love the service and the whole atmosphere because they actually make the socializing aspect way more immersive than a boring sports bar IMO. Service: very nice Reservation: better have one Dress code: not really, a little more business casual to match the vibes, but I prefer personally to get glammed up to pay honors and respect to the atmosphere and make those moments feel more special. Money left there: too much, but def worth it when you get your tastes matched.

Great speakeasy bar. I had the jackrabbit and cucumber (something). Cocktails tasted great. Our server was super nice and knowledgeable. The ambiance was super cool to have a nice conversation with friends or significant other. It was also a nice surprise to find out there is another speakeasy bar (the library) inside this speakeasy bar. Also had drinks there, but I enjoyed bourbon and branch more.

We had a great experience here. Staff were lovely 🌹 and the cocktails were perfectly constructed and delivered in beautiful stemware. The room atmosphere was dark, subdued...you could almost smell the century of splendor. Will be back

I hosted my company end of year party here and it was so cute! I hate event planning and organizing, the team at Bourbon and Branch made it so easy, directed me to caterers they have worked with prior, and the entire set up, questions, organizing, and day of were a breeze! The venue is very chic and charming, and the speakeasy aesthetic is so well done. My team had SO MUCH FUN and we even made friends with our bartender and he got in on some of the games! The team here really knows how to put on an event. Bourbon and Branch has been on my SF bucket list for some time, and I highly recommend it!

This place is aesthetically amazing. I will say, the bartenders stay in character quite well, meaning they do their job and do not converse much. You will want to come to this place with somebody, not alone. The features and lighting make this place a must visit. Excellent drinks and a fun time!

One of the more well-known speakeasies in SF. you’ll need a password to get in (just make a reservation to get it). Cool concept, but honestly, I was expecting more. The drinks were average, the decor didn’t stand out, and the service was just okay. It feels like the hype is mostly around the “secret” entrance, not the actual experience. It’s a quiet spot, which makes it good for date nights, but there are definitely better bars in SF if you’re going for standout cocktails or atmosphere.

We visited the Wilson & Wilson at Bourbon & Branch to celebrate my husband's birthday. While the cocktails were good quality and the atmosphere was cool, the service unfortunately soured the evening. We had a 1.5-hour reservation starting at 8:00 PM (confirmed for a 9:30 PM end time), but at 8:50 PM, the bartender told us we had to leave by 9:00 PM. We were already finishing up, but i politely mentioned that our confirmation stated a 90-minute slot and tried to show him the email just so they were aware for future guests. Instead of a professional correction, the bartender argued with us, insisted we only had an hour, and told us we had to go. We didn't want to escalate or ruin the birthday mood, so we just paid and left. It was an unnecessarily tense end to what should have been a fun night.
