Da Claudio San Giovanni del Dosso Reviews
A little outside of Mantua, a must-visit for the delicious food. Everything is homemade. Each dish is carefully prepared and the flavors are authentic. We had a wonderful time, thanks also to Claudio's hospitality and friendliness. A very nice place. Overall, it's worth it, especially for the delicious food—which I'd say is excellent!—but also because you escape the chaos of the city.
Today we had the most wonderful experience at this trattoria ❤️we had been visiting the beautiful church next door which was amazing too ! We were soo hungry but it was already 2.30 pm . We saw a number of people leaving the restaurant and we thought we’d try to get something to eat ! We went in and although they were clearly finishing up for the lunch service the amazing owner said “of course we have a meat dish and vegetables available “ wow we were blown away ! The food was excellent, the glass of rosé perfect and we even got to take home a bag of treats to keep up from being “Hangry” which can happen when you drive and sight see too long in a day - tutti bene team ❤️🇮🇹❤️
I've been frequenting this restaurant for a while now, and I have to say I absolutely love it. Whether it's a business lunch or a formal occasion, the welcome and table service are always impeccable. The food is excellent, with a focus on local products. Claudio and Elisa make you feel at home and are always available to advise on the selection of dishes, which, I must admit, never disappoint. The uniqueness and attention to detail are truly top-notch. The pictures speak louder than words. Excellent value for money.
A lovely place (large with a nice covered terrace for the summer and a mezzanine area inside) in the center of Grazie. The owner and staff are very kind and welcoming. The food is plentiful (the Mantuan appetizer is more than enough for two). The first courses, which we enjoyed later, were also very good. The prices are reasonable. The restrooms are clean and accessible. Recommended for those in the area to visit the Sanctuary. Reservations are also recommended.

Super
Very good restaurant with a bunch of local specialities. Good choice!
The atmosphere is charming and comfortable, both inside and outside. The welcome and table service are impeccable. The food is excellent, with a focus on local products and Mantuan recipes. The pike in sauce, made according to the most classic recipe, is particularly noteworthy; it's hard to find better. The quality/price ratio is excellent.
A historic restaurant in the village of Grazie, famous for its lakeside sanctuary. The atmosphere is pleasant and offers outdoor seating in the internal courtyard. Perhaps because there was a large group and the restaurant was almost full, the service was barely adequate. Our order was taken 15 minutes after we sat down. The first people arrived after half an hour. Finally, we asked for another bottle of water, which never arrived; I hope it's just a bad day for them... Anyway, the food was good with a typical Mantuan menu. The pumpkin tortelli with tomato and sausage were excellent.
Given that we went during the Fiera delle Grazie (the Fair of Graces), we were immediately shown to our table as soon as we arrived. The overall impression was positive, as there were plenty of staff, who were quick and attentive, but above all, always smiling. To start, we ordered the cooked shoulder of the pork shoulder as an appetizer paired with their pickled vegetables, followed by the 30-month-aged Grana Padano paired with mustard—all truly delicious. Then we ordered Capunsei pasta with poured butter and a second course of cotechino with grilled polenta. For dessert, we had sbrisolona, lemon sorbet, and coffee, all washed down with a bottle of Lambrusco. The quality was good, the quantity not quite trattoria-like, but sufficient, and the value for money was good. August 2024.

Not bad but not incredible food ether. I had to inform them twice that we, a table of 6, was ready to order. We had to wait more than 10 minutes before they even asked us if we wanted water. After this negative experience of waiting they offered us a small plate of salame to make up for the disattention. The food was good, nothing special and not bad either.
Not the best in that area
We had lunch at this restaurant and we enjoyed the melon risotto because we liked the sweet and savory flavor combination. As for what they called "fish soup," it was essentially squid in tomato sauce, and we wondered, "Where's the other fish?" Had we known, we would have ordered something else. We also rejected the bill, which we felt was a bit excessive for what we ate. Nice location.
