Let me be honest... most of the times that I come to the Huntington Library it is for the restaurants LOL I specifically LOVE this place! Yes, it is a long @$$ trek to find this place in Huntington Gardens, but it's worth it. Plenty of outdoor seating here with umbrellas, so peaceful. Also, they offer a beer and wine selection to complement your meal. Food was presented rather nicely and didn't take much time to come up after ordering inside. We had the Chinese Chicken Salad, Ginger Duck Fried Rice, and Minced Chicken Wrap with Butter Lettuce. I had an AMAZING Jasmine Passionfruit Iced Tea by Art of Tea -- I of course made a "B-Line" over to the gift shop to see if they carried the tea, but alas they don't (you can get it on the Art of Tea website). Respectfully Reviewed.

The atmosphere it’s like you are in Japan. The food it’s yummy and the dishes have good proportions. Wear comfortable shoes because it’s a long walk journey exploring the entire site and it’s worth it.

Food and setting are excellent! We had duck with fried rice, dandan noodles and potstickers - very tasy. Highly recommended.

The Huntington needs no introduction but the renewed and greatly expanded Japanese and Chinese gardens are amazing. In between is the Jade Court Cafe. Does what it says on the tin: large open air courtyard with plenty of tree shade and quiet corners. Fast self-service food counter. Great Korean Chinese food delivered to your table. Brilliant!

Such great food available here I will definitely recommend the ginger duck fried rice! Such an amazing dish, ad well with the orange chicken. And the drinks here are so refreshing, especially during a hot day!

I got veggie lo mein and ginger creme brulee. The lo mein was the star of the show; the choice of vegetables was solid, and the sauce blended everything together well, though it was a bit sweet. The creme brulee was good, but texturally reminded me of a thicker custard more than creme brulee, and it lacked ginger flavor. The desserts are all pricey, though. Get one entree/noodle dish, and it'll be filling enough to give you energy to keep walking around. Overall, though, I'd recommend this place, and I'll be coming back on future visits.

Great little restaurant nestled in the Huntington gardens. We occasionally bring clients and guests to meet with them in a serene and peaceful environment. When we do that, Jade Cafe offers a great lunch spot.

The Hong Shao Tofu is filling, good, and mixes well with the sauces which are good minimal complements per bite. Customer service seems a bit aggressive/confrontational (to me, as a first timer with no familiarity with the menu/products) in the beginning though proves good overall in the end especially with seemingly being SO busy. If you find seating immediately good, though don't expect to find inmediate seating during a busy period. The price of meal options seem decent to me though the prices of drinks (non-alcoholic—I don't drink alcohol) make me feel like asking for a cup of water with a lemon/lime is fair enough. All in all, eating at the Jade Court Cafe is a good-enjoyable time, and a good addition to an overall enjoyable experience at The Huntington.

Popped by for a quick mid-afternoon refreshment. The sesame balls with red bean paste were perfect! Teas are great, too.

I was surprised that the food was actually pretty decent with authentic ingredients in some of the dishes. Some of the food was definitely spicy and used chili crisp oil. The one downside of that the food wasn't really super hot and somewhat lukewarm when it should have been really hot, especially when you can see real fire from the woks during cooking. The cucumbers in chili oil were probably the highlight.

This place is 1 of 3 places you can eat at The Huntington Botanical Garden. I really enjoy it, the hot tea is served in these authentic black tea kettles. The food was delish, just a little pricey for my taste. I recommend the Char Siu Pork Fried Rice, and Pork Pot Stickers. Give them a try and let me know. I had to mentioned the staff is super friendly

Pleasantly surprised with their fusion Chinese food!!! Their orange chicken with bell peppers are placed on top of fried white noodles. We love their pretty authentic dan dan noodles and string beans. Fried rice is a little bit mushy. 4 stars because everything else is just a bit too salty. Pricy too.

It was lunch time so stopped in for lunch. We tried the pot stickers, orange chicken, Kung poa Brussel sprouts. They were all good. There is a very nice out door area to sit that is pleasant. The service was friendly.

Food here was surprisingly good, but service was a bit slow. Seating is all outdoors at tables under umbrellas and you can sit in a garden area next to a running brook rather than on the terrace in front of the order area. Of course, you can only eat there if you have purchased admission to the Huntington Gardens.

Food is pretty decent. Fresh, just a bit expensive.. but that is too be expected. Love that there is a waterfall right there by the seating area. Servers were prompt in bring out the food. I wouldn't mind coming again.

Can’t say this was the greatest food ever, because it wasn’t. The white rice was so hard I couldn’t eat it. The tofu and the green beans were good…everything else was eh (orange chicken, veggie noodles, pork dish). I wouldn’t eat here again to be honest.

Ordered sausage rice… I am still waiting for the sausage to arrive…$16 for a bowl of rice……… after complaining to the manager, the corrected the order. The flavor isn’t bad.

The highlight of this place is the lovely outdoor sitting area and the water feature that flows through it. Staff are friendly enough. Food is terrible. They try to serve dishes with authentic spices however, the balance is terrible, thefood is drenched in oil, and it’s like the chefs never tasted their own food. It’d be better if they just went for a bland Chinese food aimed at the Midwest American palette.

The environment is nice but the food is just not it. I ordered Dan Dan mian and what I got was a bowl of moist broken noodles that tasted sweet and seasoned with black pepper, which shouldn’t be. This was very disappointing. Although I didn’t expect the food to taste amazing, at least cook and season it correctly. Btw the peanuts are burnt but stale. Terrible…..
