Piero San Pedro Garza García Reviews
Delicious! The food is so tasty and stays nice and warm while you eat. The drinks are perfectly chilled, and when they serve the lemonade, they add a little scoop of lemon ice that's a fantastic touch. The service is excellent, and the facilities are very comfortable. Highly recommended!
Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Monterrey, in my opinion. The meat is amazing, so tender you don't need a knife to cut it. The beans, sausages, and melted cheese are also very good. The sweetbreads are like butter. I would only ask for better tortillas, but it's a minor detail. Their lemonade with ice cream is incredible. 10 out of 10
The location is very pleasant, with a very comfortable terrace. The waiters are very attentive. The price-quality ratio of the meat is very good. The prices are affordable. Beer and soft drinks are also affordable; most restaurants in San Pedro tend to be more expensive. If you like digestives like the carajillo, which has become very popular, the castor bean is passable. The espresso they serve lacks more body.
When it's for takeout, sometimes the meat has a lot of skin, but to eat there it's comfortable, it has screens inside and there's a terrace too.
The quality is still good. The service is fine, although they've changed some rules regarding corn and flour tortillas so be careful when charging. Unfortunately, the plaza doesn't help much; it's very crowded. During the week, the atmosphere is quiet. The beans are good, and the salsas are delicious. The queso fundido is good.
[2022.09.24] We returned, I'm not sure why, maybe because it was close... This time we opted for the outside... Big mistake. Too many flies... The waiter warned us. Same plan: cheese, guacamole, meat in the center... Same result: "good," nothing special. If you ask me, I doubt I'd go back. ==== First time visiting the place; in a "nice" area, on the highest level. It has an indoor and outdoor area. We went with the family, so we ordered "al centro," to share. Some grilled cheese, guacamole, and we were on the other side. The meat seemed fine to me, nothing special... I'm not a fan of cheese, so I'll reserve judgment, and the guacamole is just guacamole, and we know it can't be missed. I'm giving it four stars because I wasn't impressed. I'll have to go back to complete the photos.
Lacks drinks. Has mostly beer
Nothing out of the ordinary, a decent-sized place with good service, but the grilled meat leaves something to be desired. Their crockery and glassware deserve special mention—old and worn. The restaurant walls are decorated with many photos of celebrities, but they're very old, at least 20-25 years old.
The grilled meats were good, I don't know how much I ate, but it was fine. They didn't ask me how I wanted my meat cooked, so they brought it well-done, and since they serve it on a griddle, it got overcooked and, obviously, the meat was dry! We also ordered ribs, which took about 30 minutes to arrive. The meat was very burnt, and they served it with a baked potato, which was also extremely burnt and tasted awful. The salsas were good. What was a novelty for us was how they serve the lemonade: they put a scoop of lemon ice in your glass and then pour the lemonade over it.
This place needs attention. As a longtime customer, it's disappointing to see how neglected it is. The food is bad, the meat is dry, the cheese tastes different, the flour tortillas aren't the same and are burnt, and the corn tortillas are super thick and hard. The atmosphere is awful; there are portable air conditioners right on top of your table, making all the food cold, and even then, the flies won't go away. I have very fond memories of the old Cabaña on Gonzalitos, a simple place where everyone was packed together eating and enjoying excellent carne asada. I wish it would be like that again… The guacamole was the only thing I enjoyed, served with tortilla chips and salsa.
