I got the Baja Fish Tacos, and they were great! I inadvertently left my jacket, and when I came back for it, it seemed like everyone was waiting for me. Super friendly!

I'm excited to share my experience at the Anchor Rose, where we hosted our rehearsal dinner. The location was spot-on – we chose the deck on the right side, providing a lovely view of the water that set a great ambiance. The staff at the Anchor Rose really stood out. Their assistance leading up to the event was invaluable, ensuring everything was well-organized. The Santa Barbara view from the venue was a hit, especially for our out-of-town guests who got a taste of the local beauty. Even with a larger group and a full menu, the food service was impressively efficient. The dishes came out faster than expected and were absolutely delicious. I'm definitely considering this spot for future events. It strikes a perfect balance with its Santa Barbara charm, good food, attentive service, and wonderful views.

We popped in for Happy Hour before sunset and sat on the open rooftop. What a great view of the Santa Barbara harbour! The hostess was super pleasant and let us chose our seats. The margaritas were really, really good! We had the shrimp cocktail and calamari friti. Both were very good; large, fresh shrimp and the calamari was cooked perfectly. The regular dinner menu is on the pricier side but you are paying for the location. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. They do have indoor, lower patio and bar seating. There was a band starting to play downstairs as we were leaving. For a beautiful view, food and service I would recommend going!

Food and atmosphere was amazing. We also ordered the grilled octopus and OMG it was sooooo good. We had the opportunity to meet the owner and her husband they were so nice and funny. The staff was so friendly especially Nicola. I am so glad we stopped at this restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Totally delicious and amazing views of the harbor, wharf, mountains and sky! It’s easy to miss because the building says Santa Barbara Maritime Museum on it which also shares the building with Anchor Rose. Some Anchor Rose signage would definitely help! Try the Portobello Mushroom sitting on a bed of spinach, and pesto sauce and topped with goat and parmesan cheese and a piece of salmon - one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! And not that I had room, but I just had to try the homemade Kailua cheesecake - again, probably the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! Try Anchor Rose, you won’t be sorry!

Casual but pleasant lunch experience. Right on the water with a great view. Clam chowder was exceptional as well as grilled octopus. Attentive service. Highly recommend. The whole menu seem delicious.

We stopped by for an early happy hour. The service was fantastic. The views from the second floor patio are spectacular. Really not sure why this place only has 4.1 rating. The mojito and mai tai were on point.

Great food in a nice location. You can sit outside on the patio for a lovely view of the Marina whilst you enjoy your meal. Prices were very reasonable, relative to other meals we've had in California. The Heuvos Rancheros off the brunch menu was amazing, and my partner loved the Scallops which were a very generous portion served on kebab skewers, with rice and coleslaw.

Wow! Great food and great service. The food was really good. I had the tri-tip, wife had the Fish & chips, kids ate the Chicken sandwich and Burger. Everything was cooked to perfection. Also, sitting outside at the fire table was just the perfect way to end our evening. FYI: This resturant used to be called Salty's. Also, the entire staff was kind and very warm and welcoming.

We had a fantastic experience booking a private event at Anchor Rose. We hosted our wedding’s welcome drinks at their downstairs patio. The space was perfect for a large group, had access to a private bar, and came equipped with speakers and a microphone to make the whole evening seamless. The staff (Leilani) was also incredibly helpful at planning the event and responding to our questions about the menu, decorations, etc. Would highly recommend!

This is a restaurant above the Maritime Museum at the Marina. Great views of the harbor from the bar and the open rooftop area to either side. The food was great and the service very good. Romantic spot to watch the sunset with a cocktail and an appetiser.

Anchor Rose is the hidden gem I almost don’t want to share. The harbor view is unbeatable—perfect for sunset while watching the sailboats head out. Drinks are strong and well-made, and the fries are the crunchiest (and tastiest) I’ve found in Santa Barbara. The staff is consistently friendly—special shout-out to Stacy, who’s always kind and lightning-fast. 10/10 spot tucked just beyond the tourist traps.

Great food and amazing views at marina at sunset. 2 levels inside the Marina time museum. We visit couple times a year. Great place entertaining clients or family.  Place never disappoints. Every dish was perfectly cooked and delicious. Attententive courteous and freindly service. Highly recommend this place when in Santa Barbara. Note that Salty At the Beach are in the process of changing their name to "The Anchor Rose"

We had really good cocktails (try the Siren Song) and very yummy clam chowder in a bread bowl. The sea bass was cooked excellently but the mango salsa atop it was from unripe fruit and wasn't really any good. That said, we'd go back again and we thought the service was lovely. Great views, loved sitting & watching boats & paddle boards come in. Could've sat for hours.

I’m only giving 3 stars because the fish was delicious. They need to improve on quality of the other food items. I got a mojito and surprised to see 2 wilted dark mint leaves . My fish and chips were good but the cucumber on top of the coleslaw is yellowish, old, and taste bad . I don’t want to complain or embarrass the server , she tried her best. Our food was served after 63 minutes of waiting . Bill was $165 still tipped 18% for our server . The vegetables weren’t fresh . Standards should be set in the kitchen to ensure good food quality.

I went for my birthday and with a group of 4 small children, 3 teenagers, and an 8 month old. We ordered fried calamari, pulpo, steaks, fish and chips, swordfish, seabass, and the steak and lobster. The calamari were in strips but it was good. Nice batter and seasoning. Steaks were prepared and cooked well. Fish and chips also had a nice batter and fish cooked through. It was not dry. The swordfish was lackluster. No real flavor in the fish or what it came with. Son was disappointed. Waitress hyped up the seabass to me and I was disappointed also. Skin was not as crisp and flavor not really there. Potatoes were okay. Fries were nice and crispy. Ordered 2 extra sides and they were devoured. Pulpo was really good and the side relish was tasty. Since it was my bday, we ordered creme brulees and they were nice and creamy. Service was a bit off-putting. The one that helped us, while she was nice enough, seemed a bit too eager to help and would get very close. Kids were made uncomfortable by her friendliness. She may have been feeling extra nice due to some external factor as she could not quite get our orders right (side orders were wrong, drinks forgotten, etc) even when she came out to do a "surprise" birthday song, she leaned across the whole table and wished me a happy anniversary instead of coming around as I was at the end of the table. The view outside was really nice but it was cold and they only had one working heater. I loved the location as it is above a museum and the walls have pictures and history. I would have loved to go during the day.

The food was great. We had the paella we share with my husband. Drink were good. But the service was not great. We arrive at 8:30 and we felt rush. The server had no patience on us. We was rushing us. He great us at 8:30 by “we are closing soon do you know what you want”. We told him yes he took the order of drink, we told him that we were ready for the food but he left without acknowledging us. He had a bad attitude with us. It is really bad because the restaurant himself his great. The view from the patio is beautiful. I recommended even tho service was mediocre.

The setting itself is lovely and I've had good experiences here in the past. However, when we booked for a party of six one saturday morning, there was no hostess to be found when we arrived at the reserved time. Turns out she was off to the side and on her phone and the rest of her vibe was carefree and aloof. We eventually were seated, the service was super slow for being the first ones in the restaurant at the time. We were told some things on the menu would take longer than others, which is okay and we were more than understanding. The food itself was disappointing. The eggs Benedict and the dish came out cold, the canadian bacon was super thick and tough to chew, and the english muffin was as hard as a rock and could not be cut easily with a knife. There are better harbor restaurants in the area that aren't overpriced and terrible.

I have never been to a restaurant where every single dish I ordered was terrible. #1. Clams were ok, but lacked salt and flavor, it was the most decent dish out of all #2. Clam chowder had a strange color, not enough clams, too much bacon and was too thick. It was curled. It lacked its classic seafood flavor, but a bread bowl was 10/10. I also looked at past reviews from.a year ago and their claw chowder didn't have such color and texture. #3 steak was charged and this is what makes meat carcinogenic, its crust was weird and dry, but it was not overcooked instead.it came with the worst mashed potatoes I have ever had - not creamy, too thick. # ahi tuna steak… its crust was too dry, chewy, while the fish remained raw( as it should be) inside. Warm fish was served with cold noodles and cold horseradish mayo sauce - terrible combo of flavours and temperatures, veggies were overcooked. I have to notice that fish was fresh - it is a pity that good quality food is being wasted/ruined like that. I could not eat my food, my boyfriend ate it somehow, we felt bad about recalling the 2 main dishes. This place has a lot of potential: it is in a beautiful location, they have good service and they have great life music. But they need a new chef who can balance flavors, temperatures, seasonings, and they need a new menu.

There is a reason this place is nearly empty when all the other harbor restaurants are full. Went there against better judgement. It took a while before we saw a server, but when she showed she was nice and attentive. Ordered 2 beers, an order of calamari and 2 orders of fish tacos. Calamari was in soggy strips, edible but mediocre. Fish tacos looked ok but they were off - funky/rotten tasting fish. Had a few bites and stopped. Now home waiting to see if food poisoning comes on. What a waste of a great location. It would have been a great candidate for Gordon Ramsay's old Kitchen Nightmares show. The final insult is it's expensive, $80 pre tip for the above order.
