Intermezzo Santa Barbara Reviews
Feeling so grateful that we got to host our wedding at the Wine Cask in early May. It was absolutely perfect! We had 88 people and fit super well into their Gold Room with 7 tables of 12, a sweetheart table, and a kids table with 2 kiddos (could have fit 4). We set up our Photo Booth, DJ, cocktail hour, and an ice cream cart outside on their courtyard. The entrance to the reception also had room for our guestbook, cards and gifts. They also have candles and some decor that you can use, if you’re also on a tight budget. The space was just the right size to keep guests always engaged and part of the fun, no matter where they were. All of our guests raved about the appetizers and entrees (which they live fired) and their signature drink package, with guests being able to go inside and order a different cocktail on their own dime, was the perfect choice to keep our guests having fun all night long without breaking our budget. And finally, you could not find a nicer, more professional, and more helpful group of people on staff. Every person greeted our guests with a smile and contributed to the overall success and positive vibes of the event. They even helped us pick an incredible after party spot (Dargans!). Special shoutout to their Manager, Jenny, with whom we worked closely for months of planning and who helped keep the whole show running, along with setting up/tearing down everything, so we didn’t have to worry on our big day. Would absolutely recommend the Wine Cask!! Can’t wait to come back to celebrate our anniversary. 💕 (Will post pics of the courtyard when I get them back)
I had the honor of having my 50th birthday party at Intermezzo and all I can say it they were fantastic! To start, the venue is absolutely beautiful! But my overall experience was amazing. Maria Yapur, the event coordinator, was amazing and so easy to work with. She was very communicative and responsive. The staff was extremely friendly and made my party really stand out. I highly recommend hosting your party here. I would do it again!
First time going to brunch. Food was easily the Best Brunch in SB. Eggs so orange you wonder why you settle for sad yellow eggs elsewhere. Lobster omelette was amazing / filet mignon enchiladas were packed with steak and had a verde sauce that was epic. Drinks were plentiful and prices were reasonable for SB. (Mid $20’s for amazing food)
We enjoyed our Valentine’s dinner. The restaurant gave each woman a long stem red rose 🥀. The lemon caper chicken breast was a large delicious portion. The soppressata pizza was nice and crisp, and a large size. We shared the house mixed greens salad that was plenty for two. We enjoyed the Albarino and the CA cabernet. A romantic outdoor patio at night with heat lamps to keep us warm. We will return.
Once we found the actual restaurant, it was a very cozy, romantic spot. Our waitstaff greeted us immediately, shared the specials and helped us pair the wine...a GREAT choice. All in all, the service was timely and she checked on us frequently which was great. The food was terrific, dessert was off the hook...a great spot for dinner. It was a bit pricey, but very goid.
Haven't been here in a while. But such a great experience. Sat at the bar and the bartender, Madison was great. Every one was friendly. The food was very flavorful. The meatball appetizer a must. See picture. I had the burger but forgot to take a picture of it. But definitely tasty.
Always outstanding food, great cocktails, and impeccable service. Hamburgers may be the best in the area. Great patio. Very conveniently located next to the Lobero theatre.
This place was a random find while eine tasting. It was a pleasant surprise. This is tge quint essential California style restaurant. I will also say I thought it was well priced for the quality of food. There were some issues like forgetting the salad and the pizza being slow but they made up for it with a shrimp cocktail and desert. This place was a top meal in 2021 for me.
Beautiful atmosphere, incredible staff and amazing menu. Even the bus ppl were great! I'm so grateful for the wonderful ppl here. 😘
We went here for Restaurant Week and were seated promptly. Service was good and the food was excellent!

Intermezzo by Wine Cask is a true gem! The restaurant boasts a stunning atmosphere with gorgeous decor and perfectly set lighting, creating a wonderful ambiance. The service we received was truly phenomenal – our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience even better. We tried the pizza, fries, and chicken, and each dish was outstanding. The quality of the food was evident, and everything tasted incredible. This was an amazing experience, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommend!
Intermezzo always delivers a fantastic dining experience. This spot strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, making it ideal for a special dinner or brunch. The service was fantastic, our constantly smiling and enthusiastic server, Mia, was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. Always there when we needed her. The rest of team were just as on top of it. Now, for the food. While the food has always been very good, I was very excited when Chef Mossin was brought in recently. He has always had a great way of being thoughtful with dishes. His menu burst with flavor without being over creative needlessly. Intermezzo has nailed the art of creating an experience that feels special yet approachable. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night, a celebratory dinner, or just a great meal in Santa Barbara, this place should be at the top of your list. Can’t wait to join again soon.
Intermezzo is one of the only restaurants that has done everything right consistently. I love this restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, the ambiance is great, clean and well maintained. Most of all the staff is very professional and well trained for the job. I just can't say enough about the food and especially the desserts. You have to try this restaurant. Five star all the way.
We had our wedding dinner here in November and everything was amazing! Our guest loved the appetizers, drinks, and dinner! Jennifer was very communicative. She let me bring my own decorations the morning of and set them up for me. The space was even enough for a Photo Booth. Hands down the best option for a wedding reception close to the courthouse!

My friend and I stumbled upon this charming place on Sunday. Everything was wonderful (had the lobster salad sandwich)—food, service, ambience (beautiful patio on a beautiful day). We were thrilled with our experience!
First and foremost, customer service was on point and the location itself was nice (seating, decor, music). The menu provided plenty of options from shareable dishes, pizza, to entrees. The wine list was extensive offering lots of options. IMO the white wine was served far too cold. We enjoyed the prawn cocktail appetizer which was presented with horseradish on the side, making the cocktail sauce to your individual liking. Main dishes, special 8oz filet medium rare and a prawn entree dish. Both dishes were tasty but the steak still cooked on the dish to medium and was salty. The prawn entree was heavy on the butter. The banana split dessert was incredible, highly recommend. Would have liked to seen nicer wine glasses, white and red were both served in the same commercial style wine glasses. Would likely return and try the pizzas.
The Fontina & Potato Gratin was so delicious, would definitely order it again, and the burger was more artisan that typical ‘burgers.’ The staff was friendly & I did feel there was sufficient spacing with COVID-19 related restrictions.

Intermezzo serves up tasty, reasonably priced entrees in a comfortable and sophisticated environment. The service was solid too. I tried the burger and it was a winner. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees too. The drinks are perhaps a bit above market price for SB, but they were fine. I was really impressed by the dining area. It is not too fancy or stuffy. But it is classy enough for a first date or other special occasion. We will return.

I have no idea why this place has such great ratings. Between not being able to hear anything because it was so loud, someone’s dog licking my leg and having his paws up at the bar, and my salad having rotted strawberries, I will not be recommending this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. If you must eat here, order a ceasar salad.

We had an event here in May 2025. Food and service were great, but dealing with Jenny beforehand was terrible. The communication was inconsistent and the information we received was confusing and always changing. We were misled in regards to portions and they were not honest in what we were eventually charged. Make sure to get everything in writing!
My husband had horrible food poisoning after eating his steak. He was sick all evening. They also forgot to give us back our credit card... the chicken was rubbery as well. Would not recommend this restaurant.
