Hui Lau Shan Santa Clara Reviews
Hui Lau Shan is all over the Bay Area now. However, the Hui Lau Shan inside Westfield Valley Fair Shopping Center is one of the busiest, especially on the weekends. The good thing is that they can maintain the quality of the drinks even when they're super busy, and the employees are still very friendly. I enjoyed my drinks in the shared seating area in the food court.
i got the mango chewy balls and was in love. the mango tasted super fresh and the mixture of all the flavors and textures complemented each other perfectly. its the ultimate sweet treat because it almost feels like youre being healthy. plus the spoon is absolutely adorable 😸
We tried D3 - Pomelo and mango with sago, it's really delicious! Mango is sweet. There is no line when we arrived on a weekend noon and service is quick. Note here has a limited set of drinks (11 in total), less than other Hui Lau Shan shop.
Visit: September 2024 Im a sucker for Asian desserts, especially mango and glutinous rice. The dessert was good, the mangoes tasted fresh, the rice was chewy and not soggy Overall great place, I'd love to go back and try more desserts! They have a lot of options
After shopping for three hours here in the Westfield Valley Fair mall and it was such a joy seeing my favorite mango dessert chain as well :)
Love this dessert place. Way better than their Milpitas one. Very bright and clean place. More inviting. Service is always prompt and the staff are always friendly.
Mango coconut sago was delicious! Not too overpowering in sweetness, and the coconut milk cream on top was light and tasty. They add fresh mango pieces on top.
The mango drink is so so so delicious. They used the real mango to make it. It’s same taste as the original one in Hong Kong🤩💕

We were craving some dessert on a Friday and I found this place as I was yelping. I am a huge fan of mango desserts so needed to try this place! We got the A4 and J3 to go. All their drinks and food are served in to-go style. My favorite aspects of this dessert are that it is not super sweet and the mangoes they use are just the perfect level of ripe. Would definitely go here again!
*2/2/2024 I tried the D1, passion fruit mango icy, which is a mix of mango and coconut juice with crystal jelly. The standout for me was the crystal jelly—absolutely love it! 7/18/2023 We tried the Pomelo & Mango with Sago, and it was simply delicious! The combination of flavors was delightful, and the sago added a nice texture to the dessert.

Drinks were good but pricey. They also ran out of the seasonal drink, which was what I had originally wanted. However, I ordered at the end of the day, so they may have had it if I came earlier. They have bags for the orders of multiple drinks; each bag can carry two drinks. The order was ready at a reasonable speed.
After tasting it in the chain store in Hangzhou and HK, it is challenging for a food stand to be better. Once a while is still edible.
I got D7. Mango sago with coconut cream. It like mango smoothie with very savor frozen mango

firstly, all their desserts are amazing. very traditional and authentic hk style. 6.20.24, my mom and i wanted a drink so we headed there. turns out we had to wait because the shop was out of fresh mangoes. usually i would be fine with this but there was one person working! even with the long line there was one man cutting and prepping all the mangoes and i felt so bad. customer service is great but the employee to customer ratio should be more..

Their new lids are terrible! I try puncturing the straw hole but the way it is sealed makes it difficult without crumpling the lid itself. Their old lids were much better. I can't believe they cheapened out and use this new crappy one. I had to literally pry open the straw hole with my fingernails. Disappointing.
The food was okay but the cashier is not good at all, stuck up, not friendly. She gave me the bs attitude face. Unprofessional service!

I wanted to like this dessert chain, but when I tried their popular Mango & Coconut Juice with Sago I detected an unpleasant aftertaste that reminded me of aspartame or a sugar alcohol. This is very disappointing because, while the drinks here are delicious, educated consumers don't want unhealthy, cancer-causing ingredients in their food. Please take note of how other popular Asian dessert chains, such as Tong Sui, are preparing their drinks and desserts--with all-natural and even organic ingredients! Sweetness should only come from real sugar, sugarcane, honey, agave, or another natural, non-synthetic sources. Please make your recipes healthier without cancer-causing ingredients!

I ordered black sesame porridge and red bean soup. Both are cold dishes. I should have ask earlier. I thought I'd get hot items. The mochi are hard and undercooked. Totally not worth it. The red bean is paste, not soup. No wonder it's the only store with no line.
I ordered a durian pancake, but it was 99.9999% cream — I couldn’t see or taste any durian at all.

TLDR: The skinny short hair Asian cashier must had a really grumpy day. Bad attitude, longest face. 👎 Long Version: I had a very disappointing experience with a female cashier (short-haired, middle-part, Asian). Her attitude was extremely rude, and when I pointed it out, she showed no remorse at all—she even pretended not to understand. This kind of behavior seriously damages the customer experience and harms the brand’s image. Employees like this should not be kept in customer-facing roles.
Ordered A2 (Mango and Pomelo Sago), and it was such a small portion (did not fill the bowl, and had about 7 small cubes of mango on top). I’ve been to Hui Lau Shan many times at other locations in the Bay Area (Cupertino, Milpitas) and in LA, and this one is by far the worst. Needs to be consistent with the quality and portions of their other locations.

Asian guy who was the cashier is extremely rude. I love the drinks here but I hesitate coming/ordering at this location just because every time I have ordered the guy has been so ill mannered. Last time he was just the worst. When it was time to pay he pointed at the tablet as if I was too slow when paying. Just horrible and seeing how many people have encountered this same horrible experience I don’t even know why this guy still works here. Get rid of him.
