Shan Restaurant Santa Clara Reviews
If you're in Santa Clara and looking for some seriously good food, you have to check out Shan restaurant. I was blown away by how flavorful every dish was, and it's wonderful that they are a halal establishment. A word of caution, though: the food is definitely on the spicier side, so if you're sensitive to heat, you might want to ask about the spice levels. Beyond the delicious food, the service was top-notch. The people working there were incredibly nice and made us feel so welcome. It’s always a treat to find a place with great food and great people. To top it all off, finding parking was easy, with plenty of spots available right nearby. Shan is a true gem!
We met friends for their tandoori chicken. Very nice and still moist. There is slight spicy kick to it as well, good flavors. We also ordered daal, ground chicken with potatoes, garlic naan and roti, fish tandoori. Ordered egg masala, chicken biriyani. Tasty food.
The food was delicious, reminiscent of the Indian restaurants I frequented in India years ago. It was also quite affordable m. I sampled 5 different dishes( goat paya, tandoori chicken, malai chicken, chicken curry, chicken kabob) and they were all outstanding.
This is a great place for Indo pakistan food with recipes & flavours. If you are a foodie or like Indian/ Pakista food. Everything we ordered was freshly made and had great taste. Good decor and good service. Recommend it strongly. *Halwa puri & wrapps are the must try dishes*
We've been coming here for 10 years! This is definitely one of my favorite little restaurants! The food is always fresh and flavorful! Their tandoori chicken breast is very tender! The owner told us he pays extra for his chicken and it's organic! We've had several different dishes and they're all good! The naan is perfect! It's great to take home but they do currently have dine in setting available.
I’ve been here too many times since I moved to the area, it’s incredibly delicious. They always prepare the food fast and very hot.
If you are looking for a tasty but mild Indian/Pakistani food, this is the place for you. Aromatic biryanis, chicken kabobs and Bangen bhartha are my favorites. Highly recommended!
Today i visited shan to try lamb chops and felt so good with taste and the juicy tenderness of lamb. Believe me you wont get this kind of lamb chops anywhere in bay. Will visit again for Lamb Chops.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place truly deserves it. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Now the food—absolutely outstanding! Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the naan was fresh and fluffy, and the biryani had the perfect aroma that instantly reminded me of home-cooked meals in India. What really stood out was the consistency—everything tasted freshly prepared, not rushed or pre-made. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. If you’re looking for real Indian food that goes beyond the usual “takeout” experience, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing friends along. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

They have the best seekh kebab rolls! Imagine a fresh lamb kebab, wrapped in a tandoori roti, stuffed with chutney and onions, served warm with green mint and yogurt chutney. Really hits the spot. Their brain curry (maghaz masala) is a special dish - fresh and with a unique umami flavor. Slightly on the oilier side. Served with fresh, hot tandoori roti. I do wish they gave lemon, onions and green chilli with it too. Like the Chicken tikka masala as well. Tandoori roti was hot and fresh. Food is halal. We got takeout.
The food was good, and decent price. I tried the chicken leg and the beef roll. They also serve complementary salad and chai. Friendly staff, chatting with customers liked the place.
02/03/22 - Lamb Keema @$11.99 - new addition to the menu! ------- No frills hole in the wall that serves fresh rotis. We really like the following entrees here: - Chicken Haleem - Fish karahi - Chana Daal Also, if Vinod happens to be your server, you will have a great dining experience!

Distinctive tastes. Pakistani cuisine is like Indian cuisine, but subtly distinct in it's flavors and textures.

Mid size restaurant for eating quality food at low budget. Given the price of food and serving size it was a great experience to buy chicken biryani... Bought chicken biryani... came with raita... good for 3 people with good appetite... Taste was average, not a lot of flavour, also the rice was not basmati... there was good amount of chicken... but oily...

The paya shorba was watery and bland. Tandoori items were well made. I have no clue why naans are served before the main dish ? They get cold and hard by the time the dish comes.

Food was tasty , may find it difficult to find seating at busy times. Plenty of parking outside.A little on the expensive side.
Ordered goat soup... all i got was rice, broth and fat... not even one bite of meat amd they would not giv me a discount or refund
Boiled chicken in low quality rice and poor quality and old goat meat. Never go to this place
Below average and Definitely not Pakistani food. We ordered chicken Tikka which was all bloody on the inside and burnt on the outside, when I told the server about it he said ohok and just left. The garlic chicken was so bad that I have no words for it.

Visited Shan Restaurant for dinner with a friend. The food had no taste and was disappointing. More than that, the service was very poor. We called the staff member Arjun many times, but he kept ignoring us, which was very unprofessional. Later, Deepu assisted us and was very polite and apologetic. She handled the situation well. I request the owner to please train staff on proper customer behavior and appreciate employees like Deepu.
I had a mixed experience at Shan Restaurant. I want to appreciate Deepo, who handled our complaint very calmly and politely. He was respectful, listened patiently, and tried to help, which I really appreciated. However, our experience with Arjan was very disappointing. He spoke very rudely, did not respond properly to our concerns, and came across as arrogant, which made the situation worse instead of better. Unfortunately, the food quality was also not good, which added to our dissatisfaction. Good customer service makes a big difference, and while Deepo did a great job, the overall experience needs serious improvement.
