Verve Santa Cruz Reviews
This is unique coffee shop that goes well with the Santa Cruz downtown theme to avoid big brand names. We only tried different types of coffee during our visit and loved what we got. The oat milk latte had a very subtle flavor of oat milk and it enjoyed. The interior of this coffee shop has a unique decor and is well maintained. Would highly recommend to visit instead of usual coffee brand shops.
Take a moment to relax with a beverage from Verve. I ordered the Bowl of Soul and it was a next level tea latte. Highly recommend for an afternoon refreshment. The café has plenty of seating to take a moment and enjoy the atmosphere.
I placed an online order for a 12oz bag of coffee and within 1 week, my order was delivered to me in New Mexico. Thank you for the quick service. Can't wait to gift this bag of coffee for Christmas! Smells amazing as well!
I see verve all the time in the store and I’ve gone to this coffee roasting business before the staff is very knowledgeable very cool and chic dressed. It seemed to have a younger clientele who I assumed to be students at the university. The location is fantastic. It’s right downtown walkable to many places it’s bright. They’re a little things that you can buy while there, as well as coffee that you may not be sold in the stores.
Great coffee shop. Been going here for years. Definitely recommend the Bowl of Soul if you are not looking for caffeine or the Missile if you are! The Chai is pretty weak though honestly. It mostly tastes like milk.
Food: Jam Biscuit The biscuit was buttery and flakey while also holding the jam well. One thing I would add is clotted cream similar to how scones are served. The jam was not too sweet and the fruit pieces added texture. There was a slight tartness that cut the sweetness of the latte I was having. Drink: Citrus Creamsicle iced Latte The drink had some citrus notes but it wasn't strong. It was very creamy and smooth. People who get non sweet drinks may think it's sweet but it was perfect for me. Drink: Chai Latte The smell was amazing and it was smooth and creamy. It's not Indian chai by any means but still good nonetheless.
Walking around downtown Santa Cruz and decided to stop here based on the reviews . What a nice spot - big airy with wood and plants 🌱 . But the best part was how good the coffee was ! We had the missile which is their house syrup with half and half. And decided to try a pastry - it was so delicious! Worth every penny - do stop by if you’re in the area !!
Huge space with lots of lovely plants and wood tones. Friendly staff and delicious coffee. Vibrant space with people reading, working off laptops and families as well. We came around 5pm and wanted to try a sandwich but kitchen closed at 3 so will have to head back to try it next time
Nice coffeeshop with comfy seats and jazz playing. But there are no gluten-free options, no outlets, and tiny tables. Not even room for my bag beside me. So, I won't be back. I paid for an Uber and a meal to come here, but could barely get any work done. They said SC cafes don't have outlets, but that's not true; Roxa does, very close by.
I love this place, but it seems to be going down. The quality is not what it used to be. The girl taking the orders was asking what kind of milk did I want with breve cappuccino. I had to repeat several times that it was for here. I asked for a breve cappuccino and a latte, but still got two cappuccinos (one was breve, at least). I asked for one with a single shot and another double shot, I could not tell which cup had more coffee. The coffee itself is ok, but just ok. This is sad. Verve used to be exceptional, especially thus location. I think they have been on the way down since opening the Palo Alto location. Monetizing the success, apparently.
Me and my wife went in as first time customers and first visitors to Santa Cruz for her birthday. We decided to stop here for a quick coffee before our NHS tour but didn't even get greeted at the door but the girl that came in behind us was greeted immediately. When we asked about if they serve a Vanilla latte the response was "not really"? What. She did say they have almond milk but what kind of response is not really and we decided to pass it up and when leaving no one said a word, have a good day or anything. Just frustrated us a first time customers, didn't feel welcomed.
Aesthetically the best coffee shop in SC. Employees are really hit or miss. The short girl with the glasses and the shorter guy with the dark curly hair are always kind and friendly. The rest of the people act as if they really don’t want you there. They definitely slow down the line chatting with their friends and really don’t care if it goes out the door. No matter the length of the line, there’s typically only one register open. I’ve had two experiences now where an employee was sent to remind me of their rules. Both times, it was the employees’ mistake as they were not paying attention. If they’re so concerned, they could simply check their transaction history before coming to bother a customer. It’s ridiculous to be treated with pushback 50-70% of the time for ordering something that’s ON THE MENU. My drink also gets forgotten about fairly often as well. Really not impressed by the attitude here. Update: Love it when the staff consistently forgets my drink and then comes at me with a new cup charge. That’s pretty ballsy to respond to your own bad service with the threat of an additional charge. tldr; it would be super cool if they hired baristas that didn’t hate people
