Aegean Cafe Sayville Reviews
As always the best food, great service and the owner hands on. This local Greek restaurant serves the freshest homemade cuisine. We loved our server Salva. Packed on a Saturday night and everything was outstanding.
Great food and service! Larisa is the best server! If you're craving good, reliable greek food, I highly recommend Aegean Cafe for lunch and/or dinner.
Delicious Food! Great Service!
Really great food, we stopped for lunch and the everything was great. We will be back
The food, service and prices are excellent. All of their food is very good. Their spanakopita is one of the best we ever had. Try their Melitzanosalata, eggplant dip is something to try. Next time if your looking for a chicken souvlaki try the melt for a change.
We have been going to Aegean Cafe for over 25 years. Now we travel from Selden to eat or order our food there. Amazing food!!!!
Absolutely terrific… wonderful food beautifully prepared… kind friendly service… nice traditional ambiance and a fabulous value…
A perfect place for all your Greek cravings. Good food, pleasant and helpful staff, and didn't forget about their dessert options.
My favorite Greek food on the island! Love the casual atmosphere and friendly staff. A great mid level restaurant. They have the most delicious Greek salad with chicken! Love going with my mom but also went with my bf for a date night.
My first time there and I didn't want to get my hopes up too high, just based on a few people on a Facebook group I am in. OMG! That gyro was the best gyro I have ever had. They feed you here! The ingredients are of great quality and there was not one dry spot on that pita bread. Please never change, you got the right idea all the way around. I WILL be frequenting this place. Nevermind 5 stars....I would give them 10! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My wife and I started going to this restaurant after many's times passing it. This place has a huge selection on the menu and the food is great. Some items are on the high $$$ side but they have many $ & $$ prices range. Nice atmosphere and the waitresses are very nice and friendly. So is the owner, who's name I do not know.
Everything is made right there doesn't sound like anything was sitting for days waiting to be recovered. Food smells incredible but needed a little more salt for flavor. The service is great and the place is very clean and the menu has a variety of different authentic Greek foods. The salad dressing is a little too acidic and could be tamed by me be adding a little cream as another option rather than having just the vinaigrette. I would definitely highly recommend going here and returning.
We went here for many years and always had a great experience. We went tonight and ordered two gyros and paid $33 for two half gyros. If you want to charge a certain amount make sure that you are actually providing enough meat for two people for $33. These are two lettuce gyros...half the meat for double the price.
I have gotten take out from here plenty of times and the food is delicious. I was so excited to finally be able to dine in with my grandma and my boyfriend tonight. Unfortunately, our waitress kept bringing up politics, making us very uncomfortable. Not sure if I would dine here ever again.
We’ve given this place our business for decades. We always support the local businesses in Sayville but after today we will never go back. We had a gift certificate from a friend that I kept in a drawer and used when I wanted a gyro. I used it last week with no problem. There was just enough left for one more gyro and I went to get one to bring home. The large blond cashier was so rude telling me that it had expired and I had no idea there was even an expiration date. I said I had no problem using it 4 days ago. A young cashier at the counter even told her “he used it last week” but she said no, it’s the rule. She said, I’ll take it this one time because the boss isn’t here, but I’m not giving it back to you (There would’ve been $5 left on it. I was so furious! I told her Fine, you keep that $5 balance and enjoy it because you’ll never get our business again! I grabbed my gyro and left before I really told her what I thought. What a horrible way to run a business and treat customers! Restaurant gift certificates with expiration dates are atrocious. They should be ashamed of themselves. I’ll never go back there, and in truth, I can find much better gyros elsewhere, as well as much better employees.
We have been there before but today we went around 4:30pm we sat ordered our food which was a dinner on the menu under the meals it says Greek salad and pita bread included she brings us the salad I forgot about the pita bread then the meal comes we sent it back because it was cold then my boyfriend asked about the pita bread and the waitress said oh we don’t have it as we were leaving I said let me look at the menu it said pita bread with salad. Also people sat down at a table and were served chick peas and pita I asked about that she said oh it’s only served after 5 then I showed her the bottom of the menu where it says salad and pita she knew she got caught and said I will give it to you now I said forget it she out and out lied. If I’m getting charged for my credit card and the meal isn’t cheap I want my complete meal.
The dining experience here was so terrible it was comical. Our server never even said hi to us, but came to our table 10 mins after we were told to seat ourselves by a worker, and asked if we wanted to keep the menus. The rest of the dining experience was followed with slow, uncommunicative service. Our server barely ever spoke, and whispered when she did, and we had to take charge of the service otherwise she would’ve never asked for our orders. We had to ask for extra pita four times and it never came. The food didn’t even make up for it. Everything was over salted. The hummus was chunky and way over seasoned (again, with salt). Worst hummus I’ve ever had, store bought hummus is better than this, and that’s saying something. Everyone’s dish was poor, but mine was the worst. I ordered a corfu pasta, which arrived and instead of potatoes, they used frozen french fries in it! It basically was a baked ziti dish with french fries mixed in. When i told the server, she finally had a voice and told me “french fries are potatoes”. Terrifying experience, would never go here again.
